Firefly Episode 10 Full Length Reaction

Comments

Patt Miller

Literally subbed to the Patreon JUST so I could see your full reactions to this series. Firefly is literally my favorite show of all time. It's one of the main reasons I have such a massive crush on Nathan Fillion. I'm SOOOO excited that this is up. I can't wait until she gets to Heart of Gold/Objects in Space. Both are my top favorite episodes.

Nothing like a laugh-out-loud torture episode. You might like the next episode too. :)

Love this episode, the 'kneecaps' line def one of the best lines of the show. Whilst you may think it's just a filler episode it does however give you a glimpse of River's abilities to add to the plot!

Humorous graphic torture, lesbian sex scenes (and corresponding "I'll be in my bunk" innuendo), violence committed by the clergy, amputation (and reattachment)... all good and fine content for network television, but I'm just disturbed by the marital strife, there are children watching! Won't someone think of the children??

I am confused about the whole "I'll be in my bunk" thing. Can someone please explain? :) :P

Love to see these reactions continue! This was such a wonderful episode for the writing. The Sun Tzu callbacks (Mal asking “Are you starting a book club? Are you trying to torture me?” was amazingly funny), the war stories, the quick wits…but one thing almost everyone misses the first time through… Early in the episode, when Kaylee is chasing River, and finally catches her in the kitchen…she grabs the apple and holds it aloft proudly, and says, out of breath, “No power…in the verse…can stop me.” That exchange is what prompts River’s far more confident and creepy statement back to Kaylee later in the episode. This isn’t my favorite episode, but it is up there! I love it!

Fun fact: This is the only episode in which Shepherd Book / Ron Glass speaks any Mandarin, and it's a nice mouthful.

"there's plenty of words of mine she didn't obey!" "Name one!" "She married you!" . Always liked this culmination of Mal and Wash's shouting match. You were talking right through it and made no obvious reaction, so I wondered if you just missed it, or if it really was just worth not even an eyebrow raise. Reactions are subjective, of course, it was just felt so strange in this instance for me to have had such a different one.

the scene with Wash and Mal getting tortured seems a little weird at first but all the vulgar things Mal said was to keep Wash awake from passing out
