Maybe this is how the story was written with Tantalus in the novel (I also have not read them), but it seems there were many opportunities to show (comedically or with more suffering) how "tantalizing" and frustrating it must be to have food and drink just out of reach. Or if nothing else draw a more direct line about word origins, because it didn't seem clear to me if I didn't already know. The use of his character is the only kind of boring part of these episodes so far.

It’s a bit of an issue with what they keep in the show vs what they cut for time reasons. In the book when they arrive at camp and fight a couple of monsters (not the lastrygonians, those are earlier in the book). They introduce tantalus and the new satyr. In the book they have their beginning of the summer campfire meal and there’s a few instances of tantalus getting food and unable to eat it, plate moves around or he’s forced to miss with his utensils if I recall. This campfire is also where Tyson gets claimed

As much as I LOVED season 1. Season 2 is already knocking it out of the park. Somehow the chemistry between the cast especially Leah and Walker is even stronger. I have been keeping up with all the updates and the cast as well as the casting updates but it still surprised me just how much I loved the first two episodes like I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed but still it was so good.
