Apparently, when the season was first written, there were longer arcs built for Anna and Prax (and another character who shows up in 6x04). Unfortunately, when events conspired to shorten the season, their appearances got reduced to the quick cameos you saw here. A shame, really, but they did the best they could with what they had. It was nice to see them, at least. Jasai Chase Owens, the actor who plays Filip, is a New York based actor whose work prior to The Expanse was primarily on the Broadway stage. They were so lucky to have found him for this role. In addition to looking exactly like a child of Marco and Naomi, he turned out to be great at subtle close-up acting, which is not always a given for people who come from the stage. I think he's got a promising future ahead of him.

Marco's always been off his rocker. Now he's also off his game.

In case you're not a history nerd, Laconia is another name for Sparta. Important for understanding the motivations of the people who attempted to refound it in outer space. Basically they watched 300 too many times.

I’d love to hear Jacqui expand on her “It’s Season 1 all over again” comment about Holden disarming the torpedo and sparing the Pella. As a layperson, this is exactly the kind of thing I find fascinating, and I suspect there’s a lot more going on in that moment than is apparent on the surface. Is that a comment on Holden's character, or the overall structure of the plot?
