Anna Torv is a wonderful (dare I say underrated) actor! I’ve been a fan ever since Fringe.

"Wait, did she get bit?" Damn, Jacqui, you're good. 😁

Movie Night

I'm not familiar with her outside of this show, so I'll have to look more into her filmography! Thank you!

Movie Night

Thank you! My film student senses were tingling 😂

I'm definitely planning on doing some specific analytical content for The Last of Us outside of just the reactions, but I'm not sure exactly what it will be right now. We'll have to see--but it's so helpful to hear that's something you guys would be interested in!

The Jakarta scientist confirming the human bite, the fungus in the mouth, and once realizing the flour factory was the likely source, concluding the only possible order was to bomb the city... was awesome - "Talk about a bad day!" ~ Jacqui When Ellie liens over the ledge and sees the hive of infected, she's looking at Fanual Hall, one of the most historic buildings in Boston - the museum is real. And the golden dome they see in the distance IS their State House destination. "Then, at her first encounter with the clickers... "I'm thoroughly repulsed but in a good way though" I'm grossed out, horrified and impressed all at the same time!"" Then once Tess reveals she had been infected... "God, I hate it when I'm right!" Finally... "I'm so happy I was pushed to watch this." All combining to another fantastic reaction!

One really interesting detail is that the reason that Sara and Joel and Tommy didn't get sick in the first episode isn't because they didn't go to the city like the neighbors did, it's because they didn't eat anything with the infected flour. Sara couldn't make pancakes because they were out, Joel forgot the birthday cake after work, they turned down the offer of the neighbors biscuits and then later, because they made oatmeal cookies instead of chocolate chip, Sara didn't eat any. The infected flour would have been shipped all over the world.

I read somewhere that they hired the infected from a pool of people that where really into the game. I cant confirm that though. I am really impressed by all the little subtle things that you pick up on in the show, especially since you never played the game!! It is really fun watching this with you!!! And I apologize in advance if I comment on things that you either already know or things that you may have learned since watching this. I totally nerd out when watching this. It is by far the best game to show adaptation ever made. And since the game is my all-time favorite, I cant just quietly watch! LOL!

This show is so amazing in the subtle details. Such as the gorgeous shot of Ellie in sleeping in the grass under the sun is both beautiful and a very subtle plot device. A friend pointed out that Joel and Tess probably had her sleep there deliberately as a test to see if she would react to the sun. When they are looking at all the infected in the street, the sun hits them like a wave and they all move as a result. Another thing I loved is that even though the "worst kiss ever" is cringe, it is also incredibly beautiful. The first game is all about "love," the good and the bad that can come of it. And the clicker that "kisses" Tess in a way is expressing love for the fungus inside Tess. How fast you turn is dependent on where you are bit. Thus the clicker "kissing" Tess was helping the fungus inside her take her over faster. And you can see this in the rate at which her hand starts shaking. AHHHH I'm geaking out so much right now. I love these little details!
