I should've worn waterproof makeup. I didn't think this show could get any better.

It's too much for me ngl, and this wasn't in the game. I'm happy that they gave Bill a alternative story to his life

mojo shivers

This is one of the best examples of when to deviate from the source material. It’s such a touching and well-told love stories that it’s almost a short film in and of itself. Plus, I love how it informs and pushes the main plot. I think it gives Joel a renewed sense of purpose when he reads Bill’s letter. It’s like a part of him realizes what his role in the world is now, to protect others. He lost sight of that after Sarah, but it’s like he regains that focus after this episode.

LOVED the outtakes! (Glad I'm not the only one who has trouble with intros like that.) :D

That's not even half of it 😅 I feel you--intros are such a struggle!

I always think I should prepare my thoughts a little more. The problem is I only think that mid-intro! :D

Movie Night

To be honest, I left those in accidentally 😅 I think they got tacked on at then end when I was importing, and I didn't notice. But there you go, some BTS 😂

Accidental outtakes? Oooh, outtakeception!

That final shot of the open window is beautiful and I love your interpretation of it as the pov of Bill and Frank's resting place. It is also a direct homage to the loading screen of the first game, which was an image of a window with sunlight diffusing through its curtain and the encroaching vines. One of many fantastic details and salutations to people familiar the game.

Movie Night

Thank you! I love that they managed to pay homage in such a beautiful way, and make it fit so organically in the show. I haven't thought about TLOU in a while, so it's fun to go back and chat about it!

I never played the game but I have watched a lot of reactors, and YouTube videos about Bill and Frank. My understanding is that the game on introduces Bill as part of the journey. Eventually while questing with Bill, the player and Bill discover Frank after he got bit and hung himself. The implication in the game being very subtle with Bill showing stoic grief at the site of his "friend." My thought is that the game devs "NaughtyDog" led by the wonderful Neil Druckman who was heavily involved in the show intended for Bill and Frank to be gay, but didn't think that the gaming community would be receptive to that plotline. As a bottle episode it is perfection and explains so much of Tess and Joel's smuggling background, and connections.

Everyone's comments are so true. I love this episode so much. In a dystopian world, Bill and Frank won.
