Wow, I was not expecting those poll results! Since we had so many votes for "something else," how about we start fresh with a plethora of options!

Anything from PT Anderson, Wes Anderson, Jeremy Saulnier, S Craig Zahler, John Cassavetes, Coppola, Scorsese, etc? It seems like the same mainstream movies keep popping up on lists and it'd be refreshing to see something new, especially to get a film student's take. But that's just one person's opinion and I understand you gotta go with the polls!

My vote will always go to "The Book of Eli" if it's available. Though Maverick is a good one. Hopefully you are familiar with the original.

Oh for sure! I'm hitting the mainstream ones right now just for the sake of growth, but I'm definitely going to be doing more "film student" stuff soon--as Patreon exclusives in the coming weeks, and on YouTube as soon as I can get my numbers up to something that makes this a little more sustainable for me. Still technically a hobbyist at this point 😅

My mom swears we watched Raiders, and I'm sure we did, but I remember exactly two frames from that movie, both of which are probably more from pop culture than actually watching it 😅 Just the boulder and Indiana screaming "just keep your eyes shut!" That's all I know! I couldn't tell you any specifics from that movie, and even less about Temple of Doom. But for whatever reason, we watched Last Crusade enough times that I could quote it 😂 But yes! After EEAAO, I'm DYING to go back and watch Ke Huy Quan. I don't think I've seen Goonies either, so it would be fun to revisit his childhood work.

I'll have to schedule them back-to-back when I get to them. Indy straight into Goonies. Oddly enough, that feels like a seamless transition 😂

I would call it a first time viewing. It's one of those movies that I know was on in my house at some point, but I have absolutely no memory of it 😅

Ah, it would be interesting to hear your opinion then. I only saw the first Top Gun shortly before seeing the second one and found the second one better. Other people who were in the same boat as me felt the same, whereas those who saw the first one a while ago or saw it when it came out prefer the first. Though most agree both are excellent films lol.
