IT DESERVES ALL THE AWARDS!!! I felt conflicted over who should win Best Supporting Actress between Jamie Lee Curtis, and Stephanie Hsu--because both were outstanding. Personally, I think Stephanie Hsu may have had the better performance, but of course there's the politics of "she's young with her whole career ahead of her, but Jamie Lee Curtis is finally getting the recognition she deserves." Either way, I don't think they could really go wrong. But you better believe I was screaming when both Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan won, as well as when it won Best Picture. It's been a while since I've been this happy with the Academy's decisions. EEAAO deserved Every Award Everywhere All At Once!

Ngl. I pulling for Angela basset to win because she was just flat out incredible as queen Ramonda and top gun: maverick to win best picture because of the feel good joy you have throughout most of the movie and it's impact it had on the whole industry last year. But needless to say, I do plan on watching everything everywhere for the first time in the near future to see what the hype was all about.

If it wasn't for EEAAO, I would have said Angela Bassett, for sure, but while I haven't seen Maverick, I still can't imagine choosing it over EEAAO. Genuinely, it was one of the most incredible cinematic experiences I've had in so long, and I can't hype it up enough. I stand by that it deserved every award it won, and more. It's been such a true joy to watch the movie, and everyone who poured their souls into it, get the recognition so rightly earned. I hope you have a wonderful experience when you get to watch it for yourself (and if you're interested, I have a reaction to it on my old channel).

I was worried about the short run time but I think they fit in everything that made the ending exquisite. The only thing I wish they could have extended, if anything, is the transition between Joel and Ellie getting knocked out till Joel wakes up and hears Ellie is in surgery. It still feels a tad rushed. But overall the pain points of Joel’s decision and subsequent lie still hit as hard as ever. That, and you can see Ellie’s recognition that he is lying and choosing not to believe it more here. Such a good and powerful note to end this chapter of the story

The fact that Ellie's operating room is, from Joel's perspective, framed as almost literally the light at the end of the tunnel is... morbidly perfect..

That was a great reaction series. The series really is just a masterclass in how to transform a game into another medium. It was heavily based on the story beats shown through cutscenes, but it also showed quite a bit of the gameplay like the sneaking, the neck shivs, the ladders for environmental puzzles, resource gathering. Just enough to acknowledge where it came from without feeling overburdening. And some of the scenes... shot for shot meticulously copied straight from the game. From the set design to composition, even to colour grading. The makers of the show really were huge fans of the game, obviously. I played the game just before the TV show came out, so it was still very fresh in my memory and I hope part 2 comes out on PC before season 2 of the TV show is out so I can play before watching. I feel like that will be the right order of operations.
