I don't think that we need to be scared of Trent outing Colin because after the chat Roy and Trent had and after the way Trent handled the article about Ted's panic attacks we've been shown that even though once upon a time Trent might have written things that ended up hurting others just to make a name for himself, he has grown and matured. For him to out Colin at this point would be a betrayal of the character development we have been given. I think we are going to get confirmation of another fan theory instead: Trent's sexuality.

There is something about Colin's boyfriend that makes me uncomfortable, however, but I'm not quite sure what it is. It just feels like bad news bears and this guy is going to end up being at the center of it.

Ooooh good point! I can definitely see that moment being a misdirect, but I hadn't looked at it as a confirmation of Trent's sexuality. Thank you! (and let's hope his boyfriend is worthy of him, because Colin is a gem)

Yeah, I mean I am just speculating since we have no confirmation at this point but it definitely looked like Trent was on a date with the mustachioed gentleman at The Crown and Anchor when he tried to get a quote from Ted. And yes, I am crossing my fingers for our little Welshman to be happy so I hope his boyfriend is a good guy.
