I saw this movie as a young teenager in the theater with my dad. I went to the bathroom during the love scene because it was so uncomfortable watching with him 😂

For sure this movie was part of my manlyhood growing up; I remember when the Air Force was recruiting people and they had the F-14 Tomcats on their main posters, and it would remind me of Maverick and this movie 😅. But I need to ask you this, who’s the propeller and who’s the engine in Maverick’s & Gooses’s friendship? Also Happy Independence Day Jacqui!!

You’d probably find the making of docs interesting from a filmmaking perspective. The Navy gave them some footage and they hired a great cast, but they didn’t have a plot. If I remember correctly they basically wrote this in the editing room as they tried to fit the footage they had into a story.
