Personally, no. Where I grew up, "faggot" was *the* slur, and thus I associated a lot of negativity with it. Not that "gay" and "queer" and "homo" were prestige terms, of course, but "faggot" was the worst of the lot. Still don't like it, still dislike the idea of it being applied to me or anyone ... Even if I've been working gradually to make the term more neutral in my head, to let it be something reclaimable.
