I'm struggling right now, so I want ask you this too.I have to work on the portfolio, but I started an illustration yesterday (on the template of the illlustration of another artist, I will tag him when I'll finish) and I'm very busy at the moment. .. I don't know whether to work on this or on the portfolio. I know it seems like a silly dilemma but having a "roadmap" to respect, from my point of view, isn't that silly. I don't want to work on it when I should be running errands because I wouldn't be able to manage both things, or rather, it would be too tiring. So I thought I'd take this week, dedicated to the portfolio, to do this illustration which is also themed, guess what, Digimon. But if I did I would feel guilty(illustration sketch below)

Just my opinion here but as an artist struggling with a massive burnout I would recommend you finishing this short project and then go back to portfolio. Working on a portfolio is a full-time job sometimes, it's tiresome as heck imho. So if you found a way to vent some personal creativity, go for it (also it looks like a nice poster, you could sell it as one). So tl;dr if you're feeling like drawing Digimon do it and think about it as creative self-care. The portfolio won't move after all 😂

yeah the intention was that too, the next year I have the will to partecipate to some conventions in my area with a stand, as an artist. But I'm not sure to seel this specific one since the template is not mine xD Anyways, yeah, I'm starting feeling burned, like, already from 4-5 months but now I'm having problems to handle it. - Liecomj

Welp, you have been working on digivice commissions for... months now? And also portfolio. So I think it can even be "healthy" to work on something you feel passionate about ✊🏼

I've been working on commissions for more than a year and I take one day off a week, this is only because Valtren forced me otherwise I wouldn't even do that. the "rest" from the commissions would be the portfolio which is still very tiring if not more. - Liecomj

I agree and, hey, I admire you a fuckton for being so constant and creative. So that's why I think you deserve a personal project just for fun and pleasure and because you miss drawing the kiddos 😂 Maybe I'm projecting my own shit here but I barely draw anymore mostly because of the burnout and I would feel sad if you or Valtren stopped drawing because it's clear that you both love doing it. So, yeah, nobody should blame you for drawing whatever you want for some days ✊🏼

I think it's literally impossible for me to stop drawing, unless someone cut me off both arms lol. Anyways I think I'll dedicate this day to work more on this illustration and tormorrow I'll try to figure out if I have the will to work on something else or not. Thanks for giving me your opinion <3 - Liecomj
