On this month's edition of the Gleep Glossary, we're chatting about a total real one, Darth Bane!

The sole survivor of the Brotherhood of Darkness after its destruction at the hands of the Jedi, Darth Bane is at times drawn wearing a stupid helmet, and other times looking like a combo of Kano from Mortal Kombat and The Crow. Bane was also the fella that created the Sith Rule of Two, stating that at any given time there could only be two Sith—a Master and an apprentice—in existence. The apprentice would have to slay the master and then bring in a new apprentice, and so on. Real nerd stuff here, folks! PLUS: Eric manages to repair David the Soundboard Droid!

Gleep Glossary: A Star Wars Story is a show where the guys try to honor the history and legacy of Star Wars characters, most of whom we've been told don't matter anymore!

Thank you for being so incredible by continuing to support this weird, wild adventure we're on! You make this all possible! We know you have lots of options when choosing which pods you listen to and we very much appreciate you carving out some time for us!

I am not ready for how many Bane voices I am about to hear.

Nathan Lemire

I wanna see the private school, drug addicted Marty from Biff's 1985. :D

La coffs, check. Tall glass of water, ohh, chec,. My beloved podcasters preparing to dive into something that only one of them wholly cares about with the requisite passion? ... Check! :) Love you guys, thanks for yet another GG! And as always, don't forget to wear the blue, ... Erick!

Matt

Me finding out that Cad Bane and Darth Bane are two different characters, apparently

MarkNM

I don't have any thought bombs, just compliments on another fine entry.

Matthew Lloyd

Funny enough I've just finished my second read of Darth Banes first book.

I mean, if it's a second read... recommend? - Andrew

Matthew Lloyd

Yes, why not. Its a decent read and brings up some interesting points about the dark side. The way this book was initially recommended to me was almost as a dark side version ok Luke Skywalker.

Busiris

Thanks, lots of love right back at ya. <333

Scmods

How old were you when you realised that in that clip from Clone Wars, Darth Bane was voiced by the one and only Mark Hamill.

Max Stedt

Have to admit i have read almost all of pre Disney EU and Darth Bane trilogy is my favorite. Loved hearing you guys talk about him

Jason

In my head, I kept hearing it as "Thot Bomb," like the title of a crappy mixtape being advertised on little cards stuck in Subway ads.

Deitrich Tennin

After reading the Darth Bane trilogy, he became my favorite Sith Lord. I recommend Darth Bane: Path of Destruction to anyone who'll listen!

Ray

I just need everyone to know, and especially Eric if he's reading this, CVS makes Dr. Becker. It's a Dr Pepper knock off. BECKER BOMB

Will See

Unhinged and informative, loved it

Ryan Horn

I used to be a friends with a guy who named his kid Bane.

I second a call for you guys to review all (or some of) those classic Sith from Tales of the Jedi and what have you. Even the worst of those Dark Horse comics were totally fine Star Wars reading, those Tales of the Jedi comics being some of the best. I love the early-mid 90’s EU stuff b/c it’s untethered from a lot of the prequel/clone wars stuff that seems to overtake the line. Great Ep but I like it better when Eric spams the Cerveza Cristal button, gets a chuckle out of me every time.

Mark D Myers

Thought bomb thought bomb your a thought bomb🎶.

The Bane Trilogy books are my favourite of the few novels ive read over the years. Would be great if a series was made of each book, the different tone and settings of each book would make great viewing.
