It's the middle-of-summer, hot-and-spicy edition of our sexy, sunny, 90's TV recap show, MELR0210!

First up on Beverly Hills, 90210, we're talking about the ABC Movie of the Week episode, "Perfectly Perfect." Originally airing back on March 24, 1993, this episode features Donna and David throwing Kelly a bad surprise party at the Peach Pit at the last second, Dylan working hard on his epic tome about Jack McKay that Andrea forced him to do, Kelly using more and more diet pills while Jackie tries to sell the house, and Brandon and Steve going on a cheesy dating show where they fight over women once again!

Then, just a little down the 405, we're at Melrose Place talking about the wild-ass, stupidly-titled episode, "Dr. Jekyll Saves His Hide." Premiering on November 7, 1994, this episode has Alison noticing Billy and Susan getting closer and deciding to start hitting the bottle hard, Matt running into Jeffrey after months of radio silence, Jo dealing with her bad lawyer played by total legend John Saxon, Chris and Jane trashily feuding with Sydney and Jake at Shooters, and the nefarious Michael Mancini totally screwing over Jane and Amanda with ease!

MELR0210 is a WHM podcast where the guys blissfully stroll through the Beverly Hills, 90210 and Melrose Place timelines. The TV episodes covered will run in broadcast order unless otherwise specified.

Thanks so much for continuing to support the WHM Patreon! We know you have a lot of options when it comes to podcast entertainment and we're grateful you chose to spend some time with us. You're way cooler than Dylan McKay!Cover art by Felipe Sobreiro.

Eric is how old? Lemme take it out

I just love that Andrew listens to their old commentaries when he can’t sleep. Me too!! Love them, so good.

The best BBQ is in Kansas City. BTW during covid I stood in my kitchen and housed potato salad big containers at a time.

Love the new character: Lawful Good Internet Creep

James C Harris

If you watch CB4 it should be a double feature with Fear Of A Black Harmt!

Busiris

I haven't started the episode yet but I did watch both shows in advance and let me tell you I audibly cheered when I saw John Saxon's name come up. An unexpected surprise and we get him for three more episodes!!

I’m 15 minutes in and y’all have already devolved into hysterical giggles like 5 times. Truly a sign of a great episode, haha.

You guys should definitely watch Savage, it's delightfully insane. The protagonist - despite being a big buff action hero - spends most of the movie looking (and acting) like a Fred Armisen character. I was so tickled by a scene of him running that I gif'ed it a few years ago: https://imgur.com/a/97vicUw

The Sexophone version of the WHM theme always reminds me of High Velocity Bowling for the PS3, which no one could possibly care about; it just popped into my head.

"Billy and I just didn't work out" He left you because he's terrible and you were molested and he wanted you to get over it already. The writer's really burying the lead lol

I expected Dr. Peter to pull out a players handbook when he said "I wanna talk about d&d" 😂

Rose Esposito

"The We Hate Movie podcast" 😄

Oh, I am going to hell for guffawing at that Ron Goldman reveal (may God rest his soul)

Charles Grodin's Toupee is Having Fargo Sex

On the ViewAskewniverse, Smith released this bonkers Archie Meets Jay and Silent Bob 1-shot this week that is the funniest shit he has written since Clerks 2. It almost redeems him for Jay and Silent Bob Reboot and Clerks 3, almost.

Man, this months 90210 sucked, but you guys really made chicken salad out of chicken shit. Unrelated: today I picked up my 6 year old from camp and he was upset because another kid insulted his favorite movie (the Emoji Movie, the other kid was right to mock the film) and I took the moment to dust off a dad-ism and told him that it is okay to like a movie and it is okay to not like a movie. I think it genuinely helped him

Rod

Yoooo I legit fall asleep to the commentaries every night—sometimes swap it up for a Gleep Glossary.

Mike Kling

Jo should have gotten the chair with those character witnesses

RYAN RUBIN

I think the dating game show Chris was thinking of was Love Connection hosted by Chuck Woolery

Paul Heidtman

I laughed SO HARD at, "John Saxon: Lawyer At Law."

I still remember when the Olson Twins turning 18 became this weird cultural event. It was big enough for them to land a new wide-release movie (New York Minute), and they even hosted SNL in the midst of that. Then they turned 19, and the online creeps lost all interest.

HeadwoundARGH

I almost pissed myself laughing over Drunk Alison, comedy gold!

Mallrats 2 ? Who knows we are getting spinal tap 2 later this year.

Convincing John

late to the party but i need everyone to know that Dylan McKay is in an episode of Night Visions where he's a psychic that sucks people's mental illness into himself and it's on Youtube. it was pretty creepy. anorexia was NOT researched.

Much like Chris, I enjoy Nemesis. And dang, in that lighting, in profile, I could've mistaken Gruner for Daniel Craig.
