On this month's edition of Animation Damnation, the guys chat about the ridiculous TMNT knock-off, Street Sharks! Tackling the pilot episode, "Shark Bait"—which originally aired September 7th, 1994—the guys try and answer such burning questions as: How are they instantly cool with their monstrous appearance? How did that kid eat a two-pound bean burrito? And how did they all silently agree on a that catchphrase? PLUS: Vin Diesel desperately wants to star in a Street Sharks live-action movie. Thanks so much for subscribing to our Patreon and supporting all things We Hate Movies! Original cover art by Felipe Sobreiro.

Sharks have two claspers, which though technically aren't, um, what the Street Sharks characters would have lost in the mutation process, are basically the same thing. So rather than a bump they would have gone from one endowment to two. Not sure if that is a factor in why they are almost instantly cool with being monsters or not.

Now that that's done, can the next one please be the GI Joe episode where Cobra creates its own TV station and make it so it's the only thing on TV?

I think GI Joe would be great but I believe this may be better: The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang aka Happy Days in Space with original cast members doing voices and his eminence Frank Welker as Mr. Cool

For those who've never seen it before, Mr. Cool was a sassy talking dog, like a proto-Poochie. And the whole show is about Fonzie, the talking dog and a time traveler named Cupcake and their adventures throughout history.

For a future show, I'd recommend you delve into 1987's Popeye and Son series, an attempt to make Popeye modern and relevant. Olive Oyl wears a tracksuit and has a perm! Popeye's kid has huge forearms and surfs! There's a fake Beach Boys intro. It's probably among the worst of the '80s updates of old cartoons -- it makes the Flintstone Kids look like Bojack Horseman.
