Hey Everybody,

We are just getting ready to start to put together the Big Daddy Dispatch for October and we need your help!

Please submit your Mailbag Reject question (relatively short and concise) in comments below, and since it's October special consideration will go to a SPOOKY question.

Thanks!

Steve

What's the spookiest thing you've seen recently during your daily commute?

Cody Downs

Hey, WHM: Giving horror films kinda take center stage for viewing in the month of October, any horror films by memory that caused you any physically and/or psychological distress after watching? (Maybe even puke or piss your pants?) Keep up the great work, guys!

Nathan M

Favorite horror movie sequel to a series that you don't even like the original film?

Scott Goldfarb

Which horror villain do you think you'd have the best chance of surviving in real life?

Joe Barrett

What's the lamest excuse of a costume you've come up with just to get some candy on Halloween?

Adam Dietz

What objectively not scary films do you find actually get to you?

Chris M.

Are there any movie-film you have sworn you will never watch? *cough* A Serbian Film *cough* Shew, it's dusty in here.

Charlie Gonzalez

Have any of you ever experienced a Paranormal, Cryptozoological or Extraterrestrial event or heard second hand of a reliable one?

The Trail Went Cold

When I was a kid, I was terrified of the opening theme music to the X-Files - a fear that lasted until I was about 13, and by that point I was really embarrassed by it. Whenever my friends watched the X-Files together, I always had to make up a dumb excuse to leave the room so I could hide my terror. Were there any movies, TV shows, or other things from your childhoods that scared you to the point of being embarrassed in front of your friends?

Kelly

Are there any non horror movie do you consider to be horror movies?

Max Juke

Dear WHM, I loved your discussion on the best possible starting five in Space Jam. If you had to field a basketball team composed of horror movie villains to take on giant aliens, who would you choose and why?

Tim Bricker

What scary movie or scene still occasionally runs through your head when you get up in the night to pee?

Chris Borden

What’s a movie that scared you that you had no business being scared by? Bonus points if any friends or family witnessed your humiliation. For me it was watching Big Fish for English class in high school (don’t ask me, I can’t explain why). There’s a part where a cat unexpectedly screeches and it made me jump, to the laughter of my entire class. Keep doin’ what you do, thanks!

Matthew Sheppard

What scary movie were you hyped to see only for it to turn out to be a damp squid?

Richard Saad

Horror movies are sometimes a good idea when you're first dating your partner. Of course, this depends on the horror movie. One that's too violent is a definite turnoff, but are there any you can think of that are perfect for that first date? Thanks!

John Kinsella

What classic and/or foreign movie director would you love to see a horror movie from?

Justin Miller

What big name director would you like to see take on a major horror franchise (Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc.)? I'd love to see David Lynch get completely lost in Freddy's dream world.

JG Park

Are there movies that you think are excellent but which still made your one-and-done list? (Or your one-and-maybe-in-a-couple-decades-but-not-anytime-soon-because-geez list.)

Clinton Johnson

In our current era of remakes, long after the fact sequels, etc., are there any films that you think genuinely deserve to be remade/followed up? What would the dream team be for said flicks?

Chase Calufetti

In your opinions, who is the king of 80s action movies?.

Ralph Perrotta

Are there any movies that hit straight on to phobias that you guys have?

Smuller79

If you had to design a fresh horror movie monster/baddie, what would it be? We've seen everything on screen from Pennywise to Jason to Jaws to a PredAlien and it can feel a bit stale. The future of horror movies is hanging in the balance here...

Chris Miller

What's the most recent movie to give you a genuine "scare"? Define scare however you choose.

bottle_in_a_genie

What's the worst (best?) audience member reaction you've witnessed to a horror movie scare? As in, a reaction that was completely uncalled for based on what was happening on screen or perhaps even a reaction that was so perfect that it actually bettered the viewing experience.

Royce A Murray

What is the most stereotypical "white" thing you guys do on a regular basis ? (examples can include drinking craft beer , watching Wes Anderson Movies , and/or listening to "They Might be Giants")

Andrew Pearson

Growing up my favorite Halloween costume was the one my mom made for me in 1st grade - The Shredder. What are you favorite Halloween costumes from your childhood?

Badlock

Did you ever trick your parents into letting you see a scary movie you definitely shouldn't have been allowed to watch as a kid, and do you regret it afterwards?

Tim Batson

What is a horror trope you think has never been given due diligence and/or elevated properly?

5hit5how

I have a question: what’s your fucking problem Chis Cabin?

Jonathan Trosclair

What horror genre is most underrated, and why is it cosmic horror?

Metalupis

Best Horror movie seen this year?

Cairn Michie

Greetings from Scotland... Are there any horror films you won’t watch with your respective partners? I feel a deep, dirty shame whenever I watch nearly any Lucio Fulci/sleazy giallo movie within the vicinity of my girlfriend.

Brandon Prejean

Worst (best) childhood movie scare? Ex: Large Marge for me.

Diego Efrain Sanchez

If you could pick any horror movie villain to take you to prom, who would it be and what song would be playing during your first dance as king and queen.

Kyle Stephens

Fuck Marry Kill: Jason, Freddy, Leatherface and why?

Mark D Myers

Have you ever got lost in a haunted house.

Colton Anderson

What horror movie immediately ruined your chance of sleeping the night you watched it?

Liam Murray

So I went to my local cinema with a nice date I'd been hanging out with for a while. Independence Day was both our favourite film, so I knew things were hotting up, but this was the time before the sequel had come out, so our relationship was still on a clear course. We went to the cinema to see the finale of the Hunger Games series, which I have mad love for, don't shoot me. As you may know, the second part of the Mockingjay couplet begins with a shot of Katness wading through the ruins of a bombed-out city. I was totally enthralled. What entralled me more though, was that I could even smell the flames. As I was watching the opening scene, I began to consider whether smellavision could be a conceivable concept and whether it might be a bright idea for Hollywood to replace its love of 3-D with more extra-sensual means of harnessing the audience. Before I came to a conclusion on this, the lights came up, and we were informed that a fire was engulfing the salon next-door; and also, the fact that we could get a free ticket to come back. In Turkey, we still have smoking breaks in the middle of screenings anyway, so we just stood in the cigarette area waiting patiently for them to put it out and go back in. But, alas, it was not to be. That said, my question is, how close have you come to death for the sake of watching a movie/How engaged have you been in a movie not to be able to tell when trouble arises? Thanks for getting me through a tough year. I can actually tell your voices apart. Peace. Liam.

Paul

Which horror flick did you watch once but never dared to watch a second time? For me, the original “Wicker Man”.

Paul

Do you guys have enough confidence with your comedic skills to pull off a funny commentary on a movie like “Green Inferno”, “Martyrs” or the original “Wicker Man”? Challenge accepted?

Tweet Joe Self

What's the most overhyped/disappointing horror movie?

Ryan Sikorski

Tell me about your worst/laziest Halloween costume

Patrick Drumm

What is your most re-watchable horror movie. Do you have a movie you watch annually during the Halloween season?

Daniel

Worst Halloween party incident/experience?

Hello Dolly's Halal Deli

Match a director that you hate and to franchise that you dislike (preferably horror) to produce what you think would be the best movie from that combination. For instance, I hate both Michael Bay and Final Destination..... But you can bet your butt I would watch the shit out of a Michael Bay Final Destination movie

Sean Gallagher

What was the horror movie that terrified you when you were a kid, but upon revisiting as an adult you realize that same movie is pretty tame? For me it was Night of the Creeps, but when I saw it all growed up I learned it was a horror movie satire.

Lee Murphy

who would win in a horror/slasher vilan battle royale

Sean Wilkins

Halloween candy: we all know that anything chocolate rules, but what gross-ass candy did you despise as a kid?

Autopsy of a Horror Movie

Which horror movie franchise would you want to be in, assuming you have a 50/50 shot of making it out alive ?
