As you guys are in your mid-30s (like myself) usually on Easter, the "Wizard of Oz" would be broadcast -- as well as other epic films (more than likely, those religious-based). What are some of your favorite epic films (regardless of thematic material) around Easter? -- Cody Downs Anchorage, AK

Hey boys! Hope you’re all staying safe during the lockdown. I work for amazon in the Deep South and today, Monday, I delivered to a house a few hundred feet from Mississippi. So far so good. The house I was delivering to had a few signs on the 10 foot high fence around the backyard, two of which stood out; Now Approaching Xanadu, and, WARNING: Nude Adults likely past this point. The second sign proved to be accurate as an elderly man walked out of the garage to meet me IN THE BUFF and proceeded to talk with me about his horses in the front yard. My question to you all: ever encounter nudity at work? Thanks for all you do, Jacob from Mobile Al

Hey guys, I’m a nurse on a COVID unit and just wanted you to know listening to WHM on my drive home after a long day is helping keep me relatively sane, keep up the good work. I’ll keep it simple, what’s your favorite pandemic movie? I think it’s one of the better horror sub genres despite living in one right now. Stay safe and distant out there guys - Patrick in California

Paul

Imagine that WHM is forming a heist team (ala The A-Team, Ocean’s Eleven, Fox Force Five, and Mission Impossible). What’s your team role or specialty? -Paul, San Francisco

Imagine a wealthy super fan wants to build a We Hate Movies Museum. What item(s) would you contribute as a relevant and interesting exhibition piece? Think Black Mirror’s “Black Museum” episode for inspiration. -Paul, San Francisco

A friend who lives on the opposite side of the country and I like to exchange movie watching "themes" mostly based on current events. For example, after the Presidential election he suggested watching The Manchurian Candidate (original) and I suggested watching All the President's Men. Lately we have been exchanging ideas based on this latest Pandemic. He suggested Contagion and Outbreak. I suggested Virus and The Purge (loosely associated themes). Do you guys ever watch movies based on a theme (not necessarily one genre of film) and, if so, what was the theme and the movies associated with them. Alternatively, have you ever watched an older movie at random and were surprised by how prescient the subject matter was? If so, what was it? Love being a Patron. Your humor has gotten me through some very tough times and I think we all are looking forward to it getting us through the present times as well. Thanks again, Alan from Salem, Oregon. P. S. Your episodes with Angelica Bastien as a guest have been awesome and worth repeat hearings. I hope you have more guests like her as you continue. The humor dynamic was fantastic!

If you had to be quarantined inside any house from a movie, along with the inhabitants of the house, where would you hunker down? -Matt from Newark, De

Back in 2003-2004 I worked for a terrible movie theater in Texas. I had this one coworker who treated me like human refuse. A few months in to the job, she quit. About a week or two after she quit, I was working the ticket stand, and she tried to walk in to Alien Vs. Predator like she still worked there. I debated it for a good 5 minutes or so (people liked her), and then I went and got my manager and she was ejected. My question is, have you ever used power at your job to exact a little bit of petty revenge? Thank you. Jason from Texas.

Appropriate to now, when you guys were home sick from school in your youth, what were your go to shows and flicks? Thanks, Nic from Atlanta, GA

Hi, guys, long time listener first time commenter. I wanted to know what you guys think of those tantalizing few moments between Hugh and Elnor before "Star Trek: Picard" cock blocked them. Enjoying the recap as well as all the other content. Love, Sonya from Winnipeg.

This is James from Riverside California. What’s movie do you think would be the worst movie to see in 4D? I recently went to a screening of Gremlins and didn’t realize I was in a 4D theatre until my seat started swaying like I was on a boat. Then I had air blowing in my crotch. Awhile later I felt drops of water hitting the back of my neck. And then the stribes started flashing at epilepsy inducing rates. I have no idea how this was supposed to enhance my viewing off Gremlins but I was simply glad I hadn’t grabbed a few cocktails before the show. It was horrible. But at least I was watching Gremlins. What would have been the worst movie to watch during this experience? Love the show. Love all the patron content. Thanks for the laughs

I’ve been a fan for a while and I’m proud to say I finally signed up to support you guys on Paterson. The hours of entertainment are just worth so much to me. ANYway: I was curious if you guys had any favorite instances of “stunt casting”—casting an actor in a role dramatically against type? Or how about an actor who is typically typecast whom you’d like to see in a different type of role. Thanks for all the laughs. — Ben from Austin, Texas

Hey guys, thanks for all the content you've been putting out in spite of the state of things at the moment. I'm from Buffalo, and stuck inside just like most of the rest of the state. With all the celebrities posting on Twitter of themselves self isolating, I'm wondering which celebrities you guys (and this goes for your wives as well if they choose to answer) would and definitely would not want to be quarantined with for two weeks to a month? Stay safe, wash your hands, etc. -Tom

Hey Gang, Thanks for the laughs in these trying times (which I am sad to say are just as grim in Melbourne, Australia now as they are in the states). As a young-ish child (I want to say 11) I went to see Battlefield Earth in the theater, and liked it so much that I demanded (much to the horror of my parents) a copy of the L. Ron Hubbard authored book it was based on for my birthday. I grew out of my Psychlo phase quickly, and grew up to hate both the movie, the book and myself for liking it. However, the experience left me with this question: Is there any film or fandom that you were once proud of liking and which for now you are deeply ashamed. - Mark

Dear WHM Crew: I am curious if you have ever experienced any small yet unexplained paranormal events. My family has a history of very odd coincidences or almost near-psychic anecdotal stories. Dreaming about things actually happening to family as they happen, thinking about someone when the phone rings and it is them; that sort of thing. We even have a subtle family ghost story of sorts, involving a death in the family and a ringing of a storm bell as if signaling the death. Rarely do things happen to me that unsettle me, but last October something did. I was sleeping at my friends house when i was woken by what seemed like three quick knocks on what sounded like glass. This was a modern condo on the 3rd floor with large glass windows, a deck door, and a glass coffee table next to me as i slept. it took me 30 seconds to revive to a semi-alert state and question if i had heard real sound or not. The thought started to creep into my fears that 3 knocks is a classic mocking of the trinity. As i started to freak myself out and look around a dark room for movement or eyes watching me; another dread soon filled me. What time was it? It had been only a minute since the three knocks woke me. i needed to know the time, what if it was 3am? the hour of the devil... the witching hour... Then my heart froze; the time on my cellphone.... 3:01am! Exactly 1 minute after i had woke, so the knocks seemed to have occurred exactly at 3am. I was hoping to find another time, dismiss it as a dream or auditory hallucination from waking up. How on earth could i explain that precise time? If evil does exist, 3 knocks is all it would take to remind me. it didn't have to say, i exist, i am here, and there is nothing you can do about it. Perhaps it was nothing demonic at all, but just a passing spirit who decided to make itself known. It has been several months now and i still think about it when sleeping over at my friends house. He is religious and i have a mixed history but i believe in the "unexplained" even if i have no dam clue what is real or not. Thought i would share that with you and ask if you have ever had similar freaky things occur, or had ghostly visitations or sightings or weird death omens. As a new patron i am enjoying "making it so", Keep up the great work and stay safe out there. Sincerely; John from Vancouver Canada

Eric Hlad

If you guys formed a band together, who would play guitar, bass, drums, and vocals? (Eric from Nashville, TN)

Blake Ferronetti

If either of you could have an awards bait film made about your lives, who would you cast, who would direct, and what would the title of the film be? Keep safe. Blake from Massachusetts

Paul

I think you should definitely display the pants Steve shat in and then claimed to get damaged by a fence. Eric will say the original copy of the Zapruder film (which he owns, I know).

Evan Radigan

If you boys could catch any film ever made - could run the gamut from Zapruder film & "Salò" to "My Dinner with Andre" - in a sort of "curated" 4DX one-off screening, what movie would it be and what sort of "immersive multi-sensory cinematic experience" would you want that to entail? - Evan from Brooklyn

Lindsey Moore

Hello there, gentlemen! I'm curious, what's your 'Mormon mom blog' equivalent in entertainment? The thing you'll start watching that absolutely no one who knows you would understand or predict. The thing you'd spend 7 hours going down a rabbit hole with. The thing you'd clear your previously watched list of, but only to avoid the weird questions later. -Lindsey from Portland, OR

Jill Schaefer

Hey fellas, This is Jilly from St. Louis, Missouri

Jill Schaefer

If you could go full "Jan" ("I wanna speak to your manager!") on someone right now, who would it be?

Jill Schaefer

Some suggestions...George Miller for dragging his feet on the long-awaited sequel to Fury Road or the malevolent former game show host in the WH who is currently dragging us all to hell?

Clifton Jewett

Never encountered it at work or play.

Smaug

A late entry, but I listened to the March mailbag with Steve's chip guy story in Invisible Man. Have you guys ever recruited the ushers or management at a theatre for disruption? I've heard a lot of theater stories over the years from you guys, I can't remember a resort to the law among them though. Russell from Albuquerque

What’s your opinion on the Criterion app? I know there are storage limitations on their end, but I’ve been a bit disappointed at the selection as of late. -Kevin

Tristan

I have 88 % of the testosterone of a normal male so my question for you is: for a movie recommend do movies get bonus points for the male gaze. In stealth and Chuck and Larry you gave Jessica Biel no bonus points for the male gaze. Does the male gaze play a factor in movie reviews? It watching beautiful people a perk or is it a facet of movies? Tristan Bloomington Minnesota

Anthony Caraballo

What is the best thing (movie related or no) to come out of this quarantine situation? For me, it's HBO making "Barry" and a bunch of other content being made free for all on their streaming app. -Anthony C in Vegas.

Tony Garvey

What uncredited roles did you like most?

Tony Garvey

Which two film actors would you love to see fight?
