This is maybe an Eric specific question, but what is some good Star Wars EU stuff that I might enjoy? I got into the novels back in the 90's (I have an original copy of the good book from 1995, The Essential Guide to Characters), and I thought the original Zahn trilogy was great. I'm not interested in watching the cartoons at all (the animation style makes me nauseous) but maybe there is a good comic series out there that is still canon? I've got the SW hankering back after 20 years of disappointment. Thanks, guys - Jen Fred in New Mexico

Joe Price

I was watching The Dead Zone, the Cronenberg movie version, yesterday and it struck me just how cool Walken's coat is in that movie. I found myself researching the style and prices because, even without a cane, I think I can pull it off. Reminds of watching Nicole Kidman in a recent movie I stumbled on on Hulu called "Destroyer." I spent the entire movie thinking about how bad ass a man-sized version of her jacket would make me look. I don't even think of myself as a particularly fashion conscious person, but both of these jackets really hit me where it counts. Have any of you found yourselves lusting after clothing a super cool actor in a movie wore well and did you have doubts about your ability to pull it off?

WarOfTheBees

In the classic Simpsons ‘Lisa’s Wedding’ Lisa observes that British humour is basically subtle self pity. In National Lampoon’s European Vacation Rusty watching the television in his hotel room cries out “Call the front desk. Something's wrong with this thing. We've only got four channels, and no MTV.“ Very accurately summing up 80s British tv. I’d like to ask are there moments like this in non-American films or tv that you think really rang true about America? Or to take it somewhere more local, is there anything made by a non-New Yorker that really nailed your delightful home town? Anthony, from Enfield
