CAUTION: SPOILERS ABOUND (OBVIOUSLY)

On an all-new episode of The Mandalorian Half-Hour, the guys are hitting the high seas... but in space!

In "Chapter 21: The Pirate," which was written by Jon "The Favs" Favreau and directed by Peter "Oscar-Winning Co-Director of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" Ramsey, this episode sees the great city on Nevarro briefly taken over by some dastardly space pirates. Was Greef Karga playing Star Wars Sim City at the beginning? How cool was it seeing Zeb from Rebels pounding them back at a bar? Is R5-D4 a narc for the New Republic? How great were all the day-time battles you could actually see? And what in the world is going on with that nefarious Moff Gideon, huh? PLUS: A lotta Sim City talk...

The Mandalorian Half-Hour is a WHM show where the guys recap every episode of the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian! Thank you for continuing to be a loyal Patreon subscriber. We couldn't do it without you!Cover art by Felipe Sobreiro.

There is an excellent city building sim called Cities Skyline. A sequel was just announced.

Kevin Lynch

Are we taking wagers on which covert Mandolorian takes off his helmet and reveals himself to be Moff Gideon; hiding in plain sight the whole time?

Christian Gavey

Andrew nailed all his observations and points.

Dunno if this is a thing in America but google “Terran Trade Authority”, 70s sci fi art books that seem to be the inspiration for this pirate ship. I think some of the artists worked on Jodorowsky’s Dune as well

Re the Pascal not in the suit theory - TWO other dudes credited as “The Mandalorian” this week

When I see Gorian Shard all I can think is "Vegetarian Pizza the Hutt."

Hey guys! I'm the Navarro townsperson BG dude from last season's MHH. They cut nearly every shot I was in S2, and I found out it was partly because I have a shaved head which is "too modern for Star Wars." This season they made me a gleep glop by painting me mustard yellow, adding a blue face tattoo, and giving me a turban for my head. The set was a bit more chill this season regarding crew and security, so I had a chance to carry my sketchbook and do some BTS-type doodling which I'll share w/ y'all once the season wraps if you're interested. This episode was a ton of fun, and I noticed they used the take where one of the townsfolk accidentally fell when she was running from the pirates, and a couple of us ran back to help her xD

Some of the cartoons like Bo-Katan and Ahsoka Tano have translated great over to live action. Unfortunately, the other 98% look like 💩 and need to stay in Cool World.

When I saw those pirates shoot at that disgusting salacious crumb tree, I cheered, I shouted, I fist pumped the air, I cried, I stood and cheered. Nothing prepares you for this.

Jacobi Smith

Cities Skyline for city planning and a game called Stellaris let’s you roleplay all your galactic strategy scenarios including Star Wars (you just have to customize it yourself)

I couldn't help but think of "the finger thing means the taxes" during the Mandalorian talking hammer scene

Let them know I am up for one of these face showing Mandalorians in the next season if they want me, I will leave the children of the watch if they ask. Your pal, Eric

Paul

Please, WHM, do not cover Ahsoka. I really don’t want to have to watch that show. I’m begging you. Please give me break. 🙏🏼

Tristan

lol... star wars! star wars!

Blake Jordan

You guys didn't comment that the pirate king's number two the British Ugnaut was dressed like Mr. Smee from Peter Pan

Mychal Ceruti

YO! IM SO GLAD SOMEONE ELSE SAW IT

Oh wow, I didn't think of that. Would be wild! - Andrew

We Hate Movies

I was wondering about that, because I've noticed that every week thus far and was wondering if they were supposed to be playing Din or were they just some other Mandos wandering around? - Andrew

We Hate Movies

Here's a compromise. If we cover it, maybe you just experience AHSOKA through our eyes only? lol. Honestly though, the fact that it's dropping in August doesn't bode well for a series recap because August is literally the only month of the year we take a break—except for the year-round established Patreon offerings which will not stop. I think you might be safe, Paul! - Andrew

We Hate Movies

Totally missed that, but they shoulda put that fucker in the Boo Box! - Andrew

Kureigu

So when are you getting back to the rest of the episodes?
