On this month’s We ❤️ Movies, the guys are chatting about the incredible Marvel movie, Blade! How absolutely magnificent is Wesley as Blade? Isn’t it great watching a movie for adults? Are there better title cards in a Marvel film? How bad-ass is Kris Kristofferson in this? And can anyone hold back the vomit when Pearl is getting charred? PLUS: George Costanza tries to prove to Jerry he went on a date with a model to the Blood rave!

Blade stars Wesley Snipes, Stephen Dorff, Kris Kristofferson, N’Bushe Wright, Donal Logue, Arly Jover, Traci Lords, Sanaa Lathan, and the legendary Udo Kier as Dragonetti; directed by Stephen Norrington.

Fuck yeah. Loved this movie since it came out. Thanks ,fellas, for helping the next couple hours at work fly by!

Tony King

It was so much fun watching this again. I don't think I'd seen it in at least 15 years, but it still really holds up.

Chris Tobias

I wonder if Andrew will mention the 4K.

Peter Reynoso

We need a Lil Sadjak cartoon. Snowfalls. Ripping pants on fence. Does it sink or float? There's 3 episodes right there.

We Hate Movies

Mock me for my vocal support of physical media if you must, but yes, yes I do. - Andrew

MarkNM

This movie is just bloody good fun. Happy Snipestember to all!

Chris Tobias

I mock in flattery my friend. I purchase 4K's and vinyls on the reg and recently discovered borrowing movies from the library when they are not streaming anywhere.

Tim Batson

"A good Christmas for duster merchants" 😂

Paul Heidtman

Can't wait to listen to this when I get home!!

WarOfTheBees

"Some motherfuckers are always trying to ice skate uphill" is one of my top ten greatest lines

Josan

About Stephen Dorff movies>The Gate! With lil kid dorf and great practical effects

TwoWeeksGuy

What does that even mean?!? Can one ice skate downhill? Isn't water flat? Especially frozen ponds. People SKI up and down hill I guess

Kingyam

I think what killed Stephen Dorff's career was his controversial opinions on golf.

Kingyam

Yeah, that's a joke for all the other folks closing in on retirement age.

Jason

All these we hate movies motherfuckers trying to ice skate up hill

MarkNM

Ssshhhhhhh

Jake Welsh

As much as I like Blade, it's definitely an 'I got it by the way' for me. GDT bay-bee!!

James C Harris

Blade was the best comic book movie since Superman

Darryl Bowen

I think it was on the audio commentary I remembered them talking about while Donal Logue was in his burn makeup there was an accident on set that sent him to the hospital (broken arm or something) and the nurses freaked out when he walked in looking like a crispy critter.

Ray

If cabin gets to do his favorite movie, blade, then Steve should be able to do X2 since he doesn't get to win the VHS trailer game because jamemaster

Ray

And because I also love X2

Sarah Montgomery

I got it, and I'm nowhere near retirement age. But then again, I'm from the US, and there won't be a retirement age when I'm older.

Sarah Montgomery

It gave it a good go, but that third act CGI (should that be in scare quotes?) means it didn't stick the landing. Good cast and direction, though, despite the Goyeriffic dialogue. I'll still go with Batman Returns.

Sarah Montgomery

I haven't seen Blade II yet, but it was impossible not to watch the first without thinking of the TWO Hellboy films. Obviously, the second's gonna be even more GDT, but that's gonna be a tall order.

Z

Dorff was also fun to watch on this season's Righteous Gemstones. Between him and Adrian Brody, HBO seems to be slowly evolving into a comfortable last resort for faded actors who hit their peak in the late 90s/early Aughts.

The Great Wheel

I love this fucking movie. Could not care less about the bad CGI. Snipes never got the career he deserved. He should have been the biggest thing in Hollywood. This movie should be a model of how you shoot a Blockbuster on not a lot of money.

Chris Tobias

The Kris Kristofferson's did not disappoint. All the more reason that you guys need to watch Flashpoint.

Felipe Sobreiro

“Use the Force, Blade, you chickenshit”

Vicky I

I love how the Giuliani voice is like, second cousin to the Billy voice, it makes it all the more believable

Dyonne

The statement of there’s two black leads but it’s not a black movie was eye opening. I’m going to start saying that about any movie with more than two white leads ‘It had three white people in lead, but it wasn’t a white movie you know’ - it’s not for a niche audience at all. I love adding statements to my repertoire that my family will hate.

bill gorson

A couple weeks ago I watched this for the first time in forever and was very surprised at how it has held up. It has everything you want in a movie.

John Edwards

Never saw this one growing up, so I checked it out after listening and had a total blast watching! I actually liked the CGI a lot: it's hovering right on the edge where it's not downright ugly to look at, but it's stylized enough to not feel like they're trying to trick you into thinking it's real, so it fits right in. It's like the high tech version of a quality dummy fall.

Leesha Olivier

Forever Knight fan here, too! It had the robot from Jason X as Nick Knight's 2nd partner, Tracey.

Christopher Schuber

This is a new classic I'll be re-listening to again and again

Ed Harris

I like all three of the Blade films (the third film is dumb fun and the second one is sort of a better Hellboy movie than the actual Hellboy movies) but the first is still the best. Keep up the good work.

Mark D Myers

To be fair there's a reason why south park didn't make fun of Trump and it's because they knew their was overlap between their fans and his.

Mark D Myers

Come for the film decision stay for the snl talk.

Louis Brooks

Just rewatched this movie a few days ago. Still good. Music also still good. Ohhh the blood rave. They recreated one at Webster Hall 3-5 years ago. There was thankfully fake blood and no vampires.

Adam Millar

Just discussing the opening to blade makes me hear the techno jam 🎶🎶🧛‍♀️
