On this edition of our Star Wars sideshow, we're joined by Thrawn scholar, and Eric's wife, Amy, to chat about the big blue baddie himself, GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN!

Was Thrawn's appearance on Ahsoka the biggest missed opportunity in recent Star Wars entertainment? How fabulous are those Timothy Zahn books featuring our blue boy? Does his shoehorned presence in Ahsoka take away anything from the finale of Rebels? And how much did the stupid Emperor hold back our Thrawn? PLUS: Was Thrawn's clone the most precisely created clone in Star Wars history?

Thank you for being so incredible by continuing to support this weird, wild adventure we're on! You make this all possible! We know you have lots of options when choosing which pods you listen to and we very much appreciate you carving out some time for us!

Chiss sounds like the nickname a fratbro would get. Oh man, did you hear about Chiss? Shotgunned 5 beers before his Econ final, passed out and shit his pants during the test. Total legend.

Zora McBride

woo, Genocide-remembrance day combined with a gleep Glossary? Oh happy day! I've been making my way, very slowly, through Heir to the Empire throughout the year. I tried to read it as a kid but couldn't into it. My interests were more in the Corelia and Jedi Academy trilogies. I can't wait to give this, hour long!, gleep a listen! Don't forget to wear the blue!

Stop saying "it's okay to like it." when you don't mean it.

LOLOL. The guy I’m seeing is a stagehand in the union and he just told me last week that he is working stomp when they come to Greensboro next month 😭😭🤣 he REQUESTED THE SHIFT

Adam Quintana

Amy, Eric’s wife is delightful, it is always great to hear people talk about something that interest them. Her voice pronouncing things is way better than the old robot Eric had also.

Convincing John

totally off-topic: does anyone have a link to the youtube compilation of baseball announcers shilling since-cancelled tv shows, the one that inspired WHM's "coming up after the game" running joke? i am trying various search terms but can't find it.

Deitrich Tennin

Been waiting for this episode! Thrawn could easily be considered the best thing to come out of the old EU

Kingyam

Was the Thrawn actor Chiss, or is this another shameful example of Imperial blueface?

Taylor

I will not stand for the Blue Man Group slander! No but seriously, when I was a young man they were my second concert ever attending, and the memory of that amazing show has stuck with me for almost 20 years. I became a concert fiend, going to 2-3 a month as a teenager, just trying to reach that high from Blue Man Group again.

Dave

The return of the warning klaxon was the Thanksgiving treat I didn't know I needed, thanks you all!

Alicia

Fun fact: Fred Armisen was in the Blue Man Group back in the 90s. Dunno if that’s more of a weird fact than a fun fact 🤔

Morgan Russell

What I like about Thrawn is the way his character is designed feels reminiscent of the retro aesthetic of aliens from something like Buck Rogers. There’s even a guy colored blue just like him (from Buck Rogers), but without the red eyes!

RJ Cunningham

.1 seconds into the episode “Eiffel 65?” Also saw Blue Man Group about 10 years ago and thought “these guys are still around?” Gotta say enjoyed the heck outta the show though. I think they still have a spot in the theater district in Boston

Brendan Kneeland

That song at the end fucks, I’m so so sorry

Brent Cowan

Forgive me, I’m pretty high right now, but was an Ewok rapping there at the end?

We Hate Movies

It's called Ewok Celebration by Meco and it is worth your time.

Chris Swindell

I can confirm that Stomp is still touring. I live in Cleveland and they’re coming here in April.

John Edwards

Another excellent GG. Always glad to have the klaxon back. Also, a lil tidbit since you mentioned him: Jerec, the Dark Inquisitor assigned to watch over Thrawn, actually got some FMV screentime in the game Dark Forces 2 as the main bad dude being played by some ham-and-cheese actor. The game's so-so nowadays, but the cutscenes have a really campy, delightful charm that make them worth looking up if you've never seen 'em.

Smaug

Excellent work this month, I enjoyed learning nothing at all about Colonel Prawn

Paul DeCoursey-Clark

Just a hint of the soundboard. A hint. To keep all us 'board fans drooling and hopeful.

The Great Wheel

almost did a spit take all over my scope at work when the intro song hit

MarkNM

Nice entry, and boy, did you ever remind me why I tapped out on the EU...Jesus, twenty years ago(!) This truly never ends.

MarkNM

I played that 45 into the goddamn ground as a 9 year old.

Vicky I

You guys are great but it's always a delight when your wives are guests!

KnifeySpoony

Great episode as always. But cutting off Eiffel 65 right before the drop is unforgivable. Show some respect.

Wesley Hall

Such a great episode. Starting with Eiffel 65 and ending with that fucking CERTIFIED BANGER, Amy being a guest, everything was perfect! (but needs moar board!)

DRKITTENPHD

Amy is great. Eric is lucky to have a wife as nerdy (and cool) as he is.
