December High-res Illustration 2022 - Tokyo Mew Mew New (Patreon)

This will be the last piece before my break, and I'm sooooOOOO happy it was Mew Mew. I really went all out on this one. You can never go wrong with Mew Mew, if it's Ocean art, I think 💖💖

I wanted to give it the most love possible, so I did this one on 12x18" canvas (as opposed to my usual 9x12") and included all the Mews. For the Mews, I shaded each with their corresponding colour using watercolour. (So Minto was all shaded in the same tone of blue, Zakuro was shaded in purple, etc). I inked them using coloured pencil and a bit of Copic fineliner so they didn't stand out as much.
For Ichigo, I inked her using indian ink and coloured using my usual concentraded inks which is why she stands out more that the BG characters. Inks will always be more vibrant than watercolours.
I also added a bit of gouchae overtop Ichigo in places, to give her form more depth (such as the grey/purple sections on her ears, inside of her hair, etc).
The strawberries were painted overtop using poster paints, and the flowers/dots/hearts are all stickers!
