ALIEN 3 (1992) ASSEMBLY CUT FULL LENGTH MOVIE REACTION - WATCH ALONG

Comments

Melissa Creel

Love your reaction but I have a heavy dislike for this movie. They did Hicks and Newt dirty. And I didn't like Ripley's ending either. Yes she basically defeated the Alien, but after what she'd been through her character deserved better. Sigourney Weaver wanted her character to end but it could have been done better. JMO. Still love your reaction though. You guys always rock!!

Patrick Jackson

My opinion on Alien 3 has evolved over the years to one of begrudging respect. It's not really a satisfying conclusion to Ripleys story, but when you learn how impossible of a nightmare the production was (they were filming without a script for a time ffs) it's amazing that Fincher was able to make the movie at all. Like a runner finishing 6 hours late after they were hit by a car. Like, "Wow your time is not good but holy crap I gotta give you respect for even being here." Also, one of the *many* scripts this movie went through became the prototype for Pitch Black, one of my favorite horror scifi movies! It's the first of the Riddick series with Vin Diesel, you should check it out.

danzogonzo

I've been waiting for this ever since the first 2 reactions! 🍿😎🤙

danzogonzo

That and David Fincher directed it 💯

danzogonzo

Pitch Black is great... I like all the Riddick movies, Vin Diesel kills it.

Michael G. Munz

The theatrical cut was the first Alien movie I ever saw (in the theater, with my friend giving me a crash course in what happened in the first two right beforehand), and because of that, I really quite like it

Patrick Jackson

"Did NOT know who he was fuckin with..."🔥🔥🔥

James Forrest

OMG GUYS :) Yes!!!! Just the movie to greet me upon my return! I'm gonna watch this and then post some thoughts. But I will say this; how brilliant of you to pick The Assembly Cut, because it's far and away better. So, so, so looking forward to this!

James Forrest

Well guys ... wow. It's been a good long time since I sat and watched the Assembly Cut although I genuinely love it. And it was a great pleasure as it always is to sit and watch it. One thing I've always loved about the film is that they got the cast absolutely spot-on. The (nearly) all British cast were tremendous, although the non-Brit Charles Dutton was brilliant. Charles Dance was amazing as well, and his character's death still hits hard. I loved the late Brian Glover as the head of the facility; he always plays wonderful characters and he sets things up nicely as the harried bureaucrat ... you know that his "by the book" attitude is going to cause them all problems! The darkness of this movie throws a lot of people. The very deliberate decision to pivot back to the tone of the original rather than make another action movie like Aliens was gutsy and made for a much more thematically grim film. There is a feeling of hopelessness which dominates the whole film from that opening all the way to that ending ... what balls they had to do it. If you didn't know it was an Alien movie it would be up there with the best horror flicks ever made. It's almost like a slasher movie, albiet on a grander scale than the original. Everything about it is gritty and nasty and ugly ... which is to say that everything looks precisely like the world Fincher set out to create. Magnificent set design, great atmosphere and I love the story. I genuinely think it's creative and interesting and a radical shift ... which annoys a lot of people who expected Aliens 2 ... instead of Alien 3. Which is sort of the point. I also love the creature :) H.R. Gieger is a twisted guy! Yeah it's fair to say that I'm not one of its critics. I think it's an underrated Fincher masterpiece, and I'm not joking. I loved the theatrical cut, but the Assembly Cut is just outrageously good ... and the 45 minutes of pure setup are all paid off superbly over the course of the film. Thank you for approaching it on its own terms. I hope you do the same when it comes to watching The Godfather Part 3. That too was panned ... but it does not deserve the scorn. Like this movie, it if wasn't the concluding part of a trilogy it would be regarded as a superlative piece of cinema. Just as I have always believed that this was. When you read retrospectives on it you're gonna find a lot of references to religion ... and there are plenty of them, both hidden and open. I love some of the theories on that, and I like them a lot. This movie has generated more debate than the first two put together :) It was also a very, very troubled production with a lot of ideas which were rejected, and Fincher's issues with it are legendry. But he ought to be very, very proud of it. Total pleasure to be back guys and looking forward to many, many, more excellent choices from you :) Looking forward to BTTF3 which I am going to watch tomorrow! Can't wait to see what you guys have up next. BTW, I haven't watched Fallout yet, so I am gonna start that with your watch-alongs in the coming week, so that'll be like when I watched Society Of The Snow for the first time alongside your first viewing. Looking forward to that a lot.

Ed R

I thought the film itself was good. I just didn’t like that they killed off Newt and Hicks like that. There was supposedly a 3rd movie script written by William Gibson that never made it to production that had Hicks with an actual role in the movie. There was talk of actually filming it recently but I don’t think anything ever materialized.

Zensonar

I do appreciate Alien 3 and there's a lot to like about it, but I kinda see it as a separate thing from the first two. The first two are my personal canon. 3 is not. That's the way I enjoy it without disliking it for its creative choices. It's the same with Alien 4. I enjoyed it, but only as a separate thing, an Alien film in name only.

Grimbane42

Its such a good movie. It shows just how bad Wayland is so bad that the murderers, rapists, and thieves are better humans in the end than they are. I also think that in the end this is how Ripley should go out. She is the hero taking out the queen before Wayland comes in and helps the queen win. In my opinion it is the perfect ending to such a dark trilogy.

Melissa Creel

The people telling you not to watch are probably the people that didn't want you to have that feeling after the movie. As a Ripley fan and first 2 movie fan, this hurts.

BubblyRainbows

This is why I can't stand it when people tell reactors to stop after a certain movie in a franchise. You guys ignored all the negative comments and gave it a chance, and while you both see that it's not perfect, you came out of the movie having enjoyed it for what it was. I used to always tell people in the comments on YouTube or their Patreons to ignore the naysayers and make up their own minds, and I really wish more people would. There are far more reactors that have given up on this series after "Aliens" than have gone ahead and watched more. And that makes me sad. NO SPOILERS, I PROMISE. I don't know if you've watched the theatrical cut on your own yet or not, but while I feel the Assembly Cut is by far superior, there is one thing at the end that I wish they'd kept. I won't give specifics here in case you haven't seen the theatrical version yet, but I think you'll know what I'm talking about if and when you see it. I like to urge reactors (and just friends and acquaintances) to watch all the movies in various franchises and make up their own minds. Too many people are very vocal about calling certain movies trash and telling everyone not to watch them, and I just feel that doing that could be robbing viewers like you of the experience of a movie they might have liked. It's incredibly common with this franchise, the Predator franchise, Terminator, X-Men, even Indiana Jones and more. I myself have movies in some of those franchises that I didn't like for whatever reason, but I still think anyone who is interested should watch them and decide for themselves. I hope you decide to watch the 4th Alien movie, the Predator movies, and both of the Alien vs. Predator spinoffs. I will understand if you don't do them all on your Patreon or YouTube channels because of the vocal haters of some of them, but at least watch them for yourselves. And if you DO watch them for the channel, I will be right here to watch with you every time. One final warning/suggestion, and there are NO SPOILERS following: If you do decide to watch the AvP movies (whether for the channel or just for yourselves), when you get to "Alien vs. Predator: Requiem," I strongly suggest turning up the brightness on your screen several notches. There are many (valid) complaints about the movie being too visually dark and turning up the brightness really does help the overall experience.

Sean

I saw it in theaters in 1992. This movie was the biggest middle finger to the audience I had ever experienced (until starship troopers disgraced the big screen in 1997). The pearl in the ouster from 1 and 2 was that the 4 most redeemable characters - Riley, Bishop, Newt, and Hicks - selfless, savvy, trustworthy, courageous; they just get thrown away for no justifiable reason. It rendered 1 and 2 meaningless, and it took me over half the film to get over the shock of that senseless waste. By then, even more senseless tragedy had piled on. The ending was the final Eff You. With the benefit of time, it became clearer that the film itself was fairly well made and written. I like the theatrical version better than the assembly version. Apparently there was another script that was stuck in development hell that would have used the original survivors, but it was discarded for some reason.

Michael G. Munz

Another thing: This movie gives the series some parallels with the story of Beowulf. First, Beowulf fights Grendel. Then he deals with Grendel's mother. Then he faces a dragon (which Golic calls the alien in this one), and dies.

Patrick Jackson

Also (really late on this one), if you didn't know, this film contains the first use of a CGI shot in cinema! It's the first quick shot of the Xenomorph's head cracking as the water cools the lead. Lasts about half a second, but that's movie history right there. That was the birth of CGI, starting in 1992. A year later, we had Jurassic Park. Quite the leap!

Patricia Jansson

Hi I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but will you guys be doing this without the blur and have sound? Love your content!!

Daniel Karlsson

I feel this movie gets a bad rep. The script is good, the acting is great in places and the cinematography is fantastic at times. It is very Fincher, which is fine by me. I get that people get upset at the fact she lost everyone in the beginning, but honestly I don't think the rest of the movie would have worked with Newt or Hicks there. To me this movie brings back that claustrophobic feel of the first movie, which is fantastic. I do agree about the CGI though, it wasn't even great when it came out. Practical is always better, which the second half shows. Also, considering all the crap they went through in production, this turned out really well. Regarding Alien 4, that is a film with problems. The script went through about 900 re-writes by different writers and it shows so hard. It does look cool though. You should watch it, but be prepared that you might be disappointed. I always like to drop some recommendations, so here we go: Oldeuboi (2003) Ong-Bak Spirited Away Starship Troopers Stargate

Generally it’s a copyright infringement to show the full Video with sound. The format here is for you to have your own copy of the video and to sync up with theirs.

ButtercupsTrueLove

No reaction channels can legally show a copy of the film to accompany their reactions. Other channels tell of having to re-render their reactions to further blur the video because they received a notification from a representative of one of the movie studios informing them that they were in violation of copyright infringement. Streaming services have agreements in place with movie studios so that's why they can legally stream unaltered content to subscribers. Even when edited reactions are posted to YouTube, the videos are sometimes deleted for going beyond what YouTube and the movie studios deem permissible to show to the public. That means that the video must edited down even further to avoid copyright violations.

Brian Albright

Starship Troopers was a self-aware campy alien sci-fi film that has aged gracefully. The sequel’s were garbage, but the first one is a classic

Sean

I agree with 2/3 of your comment. The ST movie was Verhoeven’s passive aggressive middle finger to the source material. If the film were named anything else, it world be fine. But as it bears Heinlein’s title as its own, it breaks faith with the spirit of the novel. I know it’s a satire. But having read the novel first, I found the movie to be a bitter disappointment.

Brian Albright

Ehh I don’t really care about novel vs film arguments, so I can’t see your perspective. But I’ll take your word for it.

Duarte Dunn

The better cut of the ending of this movie was cut out of the director's edition. The queen alien bursts out of Ripley's chest, screeching, as she is falling into the furnace in the theatrical version. Now we have to watch 'Alien Resurrection' (Aliens 4)

The Media Knights

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, and we absolutely understand where you come from. We experienced something similar, in the sense that we felt a little betrayed by how they handled Hicks and Newt, and ultimately Ripley. We don't think every movie should have a happy ending, by any means, but damn, Ripley deserved a break! The additional suffering she was put through, the paranoia, fear for her own safety once again seemed... redundant. We also understand that the director had a vision, and they were looking to end Ripley, but as you said, there could have been a different way to get to that destination. Thank you so so much for your candor, support and kindness, it means the world to us!

The Media Knights

Begrudging respect is such a fantastic way to describe our feelings toward this film! It's always heartbreaking when a film is riddled with problems in production, and it's disturbingly common, so for us to receive this as a final product is impressive! We had our mixed feelings with some of the writing choices, but alas, we got what we got! Also - we had no idea that one of the scripts was the prototype for Pitch Black, that is crazy! It's also another movie we definitely gotta check out, so thanks for giving us the idea haha!

The Media Knights

That's awesome, we're so glad you enjoy the film!! We definitely gotta check out the theatrical cut as well, we are so curious how exactly it varies from this one!

The Media Knights

Welcome back!! We hope you enjoyed our video and we're looking forward to reading your thoughts down below haha

The Media Knights

First of all, thank you so much for typing up such a thoughtful and insightful comment! We absolutely hear you and agree with much of it! Fincher has absolutely put his signature to this franchise with this iteration, and yes, its heavier tone and themes would give anyone a whiplash. It's always a little sad when the audience remains rigid in their preferences for a story instead of letting it do its own thing and just going along for the ride. This film certainly has many attributes that are excellent - and some choices that had us a little sad, especially when it comes to Ripley's fate and the circumstances therein. Losing Hicks and Newt the way we did was quite jarring, and though we are still not sure if it was the right writing choice, it absolutely was a bold one, and we always have respect for that! Considering the problems that were happening during production, it is so impressive that this was the final product we got! This film really feels like that one that you need to watch a few times to fully immerse yourself. Our expectations can doom our experiences and that may very well be the cause of the grief many people voiced with this film, but it absolutely is NOT a bad film! It was just... different from what was expected. We hope you enjoy Fallout, we had such a blast with that show and it inspired us to start our secondary channel so we could cover the gameplay haha. We cannot wait to hear your thoughts on that show also! Thank you again for your support and wonderful comment, we love having you here!

The Media Knights

Yeah, definitely agreed - killing off Hicks and Newt like that is a hard pill to swallow, especially in the first few minutes of the film! It definitely helps set the tone though, that's for sure!

The Media Knights

That's actually a great way to look at it! This one, if it were not a part of the franchise, would have likely been received much better so it did suffer from the weight of its own success. We're still pretty excited to watch the 4th one and that should be happening fairly soon!

The Media Knights

Absolutely see where you're coming from! In a way, I feel that this was the only way it could have ever ended for Ripley - putting an end to the xenomorphs. We also really enjoyed the contrast between the criminals and Weyland, and how true humanity shows itself from the unlikeliest of places sometimes.

The Media Knights

Lolll the heartbreak of seeing her go out this way was true heartbreak.

danzogonzo

I think you guys would enjoy all of his movies... Gone Girl, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Panic Room... I had an idea for series videos... A director series... You already have multiple Quentin Tarantino movies and multiple David Fincher movies... How about Michel Gondry, Steven Spielberg, Guillermo del Toro, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarittu?... Or classic actors series that are great? Al Pacino, Robert de Niro, Benicio del Toro, Kevin Costner, Denzel Washington... The list will go on and on, on that point 😘 whatever you guys decide to do, I'll be right here for it, thank you again... There are many, many, many movies that would I like to see your reactions to 🤷 I'm just one person but I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people agree with me 😁💯 thank you again 🫡

The Media Knights

This comment resonated with us so much!! We're, in general, weary of what critics have to say - and having read so many comments about how supposedly awful the third one was had us scratching our heads, especially once we watched this! We absolutely agree that everyone should watch things for themselves, and make up their own minds! We all have different tastes, and there is something out there for everyone - so going into these 'controversial' movies with an open mind is a must for us! And we are so glad we did just that, because there were so many elements we absolutely loved in this movie! People can be quite rigid in their expectations of stories, especially when we're talking about a franchise. There is a weird sense of entitlement sometimes, that makes people unable to just let the film speak for itself - like, just go along with it and leave your expectations out the door, and let yourself be taken by the world. We absolutely will be continuing this franchise and are so excited for all of them, especially AvP - so thank you for the tip, we are gonna keep that in mind!

The Media Knights

We can definitely see where you're coming from, honestly losing Hicks and Newt that way was so jarring, it took us a while to shake it off as well. We actually experienced this feeling before, with a game, believe it or not - we won't name drop it in case of spoilers. Losing redeemable characters always hurts, and absolutely makes the violence following feel so senseless. But I feel like that was the intention here - much of our world is nonsensical and devastating, grim and dark. So starting us off with such a major loss was definitely a calculated choice - we just don't still know if it was the right one lol. We still gotta check out Starship Troopers so we'll be sure to share our thoughts on that in our reaction!

The Media Knights

Oooooh that is such an interesting parallel, never even thought of that and I (Denise) love the tale of Beowulf! Thank you for pointing that out!

The Media Knights

No way, that is so impressive!! Considering the times, the CGI was very impressive, we just are so in love with practicals haha

The Media Knights

Not a dumb question at all, the above comments explained it perfectly! We wished there was a different way but our hands are tied!

The Media Knights

Totally agree, from our comment section on YT we genuinely expected a catastrophe and this was certainly not that! This film had so many fantastic elements, it's just that the beginning is such a tough pill to swallow, understandably. But you're right, the film would have become something entirely different with Hicks and Newt in it, and well, Fincher brought his own vision, so - we got what we got. We are definitely prepared for the 4th one, but are keeping an open mind! Thank you so much for your recommendations, added them to our list!

The Media Knights

Ooooohhh, see that would have been so satisfying to see! Can't believe we were robbed of that visual haha, now we gotta check out the theatrical cut as well!

Daniel Karlsson

That specific moment is probably the only advantage the theatrical cut has, but it is a damn fine moment. Very satisfying.

Patricia Jansson

Thank you so much for answering<3 I don't understand these things that much but it makes sense!

Raven Dark

I've listened to your before and afterthoughts on all three Alien reactions, and I saw that a lot of people told you not to watch this movie. I also saw in some of your replies that you don't like when people tell you or others to stop a franchise at a certain point. I understand this. Stopping a franchise that starts out great after a certain point robs you of the chance to see great moments the sequels in a franchise may have. You can end up missing things that, as writers and viewers who appreciate movies with a more meticulous eye than most, you really should have a chance to witness. But I wanted to take the opportunity to play Devil's advocate here. Reactors usually have to rely on their patrons (or subs on Youtube) to tell them if sequels in any particular franchise are worth it, and the thing is, for us as viewers of reaction channels, sometimes it's a bit of a catch 22. If a sequel to a well-loved series is widely disliked, those of us who tell you to stop at a certain point are usually doing it because of something that happens when a person watches a sequel that doesn't measure up. Sometimes sequels that have a wide consensus of dislike have something about the film that will sour the franchise or ruin the previous films in some way. You two seem to be able to put aside your love of a film, or films, in order to just enjoy a less loved installment for what it is, but many can't, and those of us who have to guess at how you'll react have no way of knowing whether you will be able to do that, or if an installment will ruin what came before. When a really good installment ends on a super high note (like Aliens or Terminator 2), the letdown of a less than stellar installment can leave people wishing they hadn't continued. I think most who told you to stop with this film were worried, especially when it comes to Ripley, how it would affect your enjoyment of the first two movies. If I were here at the time, I may have advised stopping, and if I had, that would be why. I guess the point I'm trying to make here is that, while I hate to rob reactors of something they'll like, if I think they'll run into something in a franchise that will ruin it for them, I will tell them to stop because once that bad taste is in the mouth it's hard to wash it out. You can't put the genie back in the bottle. I hope this makes sense. I'm going to watch all three reactions now. I haven't seen the third film in a long time, so this time, I want to really analyze it on it's own merit. Be warned, I may leave another long comment on this one after the reactions are done. LOL Love you guys.

Casimir

Anyone know where to download the assembly cut?

DM DC

Amazon Prime has it. It's labled as Special Edition, it's not called Assembly Cut, but the special Edition is the "Assembly Cut".

DM DC

I myself really liked this film (the theactrical) and I really did enjoy this cut. Overall I liked how dark this was. One thing I think I don't like is how Hicks and Newt were killed in the opening. As I recall reading and hearing when this initially came out, it was the death of Hicks and Newt that was the main reason this installment wasn't liked. Later it I guess was some of the studio decisions. I'm not sure what those were- but I think mainly due to having seen the theactrical first may have liked a few things in the theactrical a bit better. One is how the Alien comes to be, in the theactrical it was from a dog not an ox. This is also partly due to having been involved in this series when the alien comics came around and the action figures. It just seemed to me that if an alien comes from a horned animal it too should have horns-silly reason I know. But this is one of the differences from the theactical. So from what I remember hearing Sigorney wasn't interested in making this film initially, then when she was convinced to do it she said this would be the last and that she wanted Ripley to die. The other difference is the additional scenes many of which you can tell from the static/white noise during the dialog. Some scenes don't have this but they are also really short. One big one is in the beginning when Charles Dance found Ripley up to her being placed on the bed was all added from the original cut. There are a number of others. Then of course the alien. But one cool thing was about this cut was the reveal of the face hugger. Also from what I remember reading - and if you notice the face hugger the guy picks up was a lot bigger than a regular face hugger. There was only one egg on the ship. This is called a royal face hugger which can infect more than one host. Typically 2, one queen and one protector. My main issue is with the ox is they said it was dead and it's always been apart of the lore that if the host dies so does the embryo. I would also argue that you can bring the love for the 2nd. I think it just depends on the person. Maybe I'm just that much different from other people. Again I liked this move, the most intriguing thing when I saw the previews was always the scene where the alien is right up next to Ripley and doesn't kill her. That was an intense scene. I think having Hicks and Newt die in the beginning -while I would have preferred they live- still shows that people die. Things can happen. And having Ripley die in the end in the noble way she did (at least I think it was noble) just reinforces how deadly these creatures are/and how deadly the company can be. I didn't really explain that last thought correctly but there it is. Another thing I wanted to say -and this may be due to me not having the a filmmaking background- was I really don't think this cut changes much of the theactical cut all that much; except by having the alien get trapped briefly and bringing the crazy of Prisoner Golic to the forefront more. It also gives a little more for Clemens and Dillion but overall it still seems very much the same for me with regard to the overall story. Finally I for one would not generally say to not watch a sequal of a film. I may impart some of my feelings of a sequal but I'd say it's up to you whether you watch or not. I often do recommend seeing them though just because I think they are fun/good. However I also know there are times where I feel like I'm the only one that does lol.

Robert Durant

Ok so this is the first time I have ever watched this Assembly Cut/S.E. version so i could watch it with you guys and I think I did actually like this more than the theatrical. I've always had a soft spot for the theatrical anyway but I did like the direction David Fincher wanted to go with this and it is a shame the movie he wanted to make got railroaded by the studio,

Emperor Raven

I like your points here and I like that they want to experience the journey for themselves and truly are open minded to all kinds of stories, characters, and experiences. I know what you mean too, so many amazing franchises go down the drain after the second and third films! 😭

Emperor Raven

Oh snap I didn’t realize that and JP is amazing for its time! ❤️

Emperor Raven

Damn really sucks when too much studio interference happens!

Emperor Raven

I noticed the animal change too at the beginning because I always remember the dog scene, I know Alien 3 was in production hell for a while too.

Emperor Raven

I will say for flawed sequels it helps to watch the film because you can dissect what it got right versus what went wrong, I actually like those points and enjoy the contrast! A running joke about the AVP films is during those dark scenes, the joke goes "they didn't want people to see the shit they were filming!" xD

Emperor Raven

Oh yeah they are solid, the Riddick films! Terminator 2: Judgement Day went through production hell... James Cameron actually took a long break TWICE and came back to continue the project. We definitely gotta give respect for the film being released at all!

Emperor Raven

I will say I feel like I have a much stronger and deeper appreciation for Alien 3 after hearing your film analysis and thoughts post watching! It's interesting to consider the inherent strengths and flaws of the film, I blame at least 70% of these faults on character development, choices, and deaths. It completely alters the tone and trajectory of the film killing off Hicks, Newt, and Bishop early on and they are all deeply beloved characters at this point that have an unbreakable bond with Ripley (especially Newt but the chemistry with Hicks and Bishop was solid too). That's the magic that James Cameron worked in the second film and it's a huge Achilles' heel in Alien 3. It's essentially a victim of the superior story elements and strong characters' chemistry, dialogue, and interactions contained within the second film that gets perpetually plunged into chaos, darkness, and despair. The film definitely beats the second in terms of returning to its traditional horror roots and this xenomorph's unique design and traits are perfect for the large domain it stalks and roams throughout the film. It's just a huge blow to the average viewers' psyche witnessing the devastating loss of characters they fell in love with before and Ripley's sendoff, although powerful and tragic in its own right, again tears at the viewer with no room for hope towards the end. Both hope and beloved characters are lost in the film and that's just always going to weigh it down even though Sigourney wanted her character to end. I'm not surprised James Cameron wouldn't go on to direct another Alien film, I wish he had done it but it was probably loads of nonsense he dealt with doing the sequel and Sigourney was probably affected by whatever production issues popped up as well (or perhaps she just wanted to do other projects). A solid script and stronger character relationships, interactions, and dialogue would have given this film the potential to surpass those before it; like you guys noted the band of criminals here does create a very different tense atmosphere but we really don't know them or care for them. The core cast is quite solid of course, but the tension and stakes are just very limited because the cast is spread out so thin we're not ever getting to learn more about them, growing with them, and ultimately sympathizing with them and their cause (outside of the themes of "faith and hope"). There's just a lot of lost ground between wasting three previous amazing core characters and characters getting wasted in this film due to the setup, despite the solid performances that the primary characters still achieve. You can see the chaotic affects of the film being stuck in production hell just struggling to get released along with multiple script rewrites. All in all amazing film analysis, truly enjoyed this and I'll be watching your next Alien reactions later today (AVP as well)!

M@xR3acts

If Aliens was the high-octane victory lap, Alien 3 (1992) is the brutal, nihilistic hangover. It is famous for being one of the most troubled productions in Hollywood history—a film that began shooting without a finished script and was disowned by its director, a then-unknown David Fincher. Alien 3 is a beautiful nightmare. It’s not "fun" like Aliens, and it’s not "perfect" like Alien, but it is a haunting, deeply spiritual conclusion to a trilogy that remains essential viewing for any sci-fi fan.
