JURASSIC PARK (1993) FULL LENGTH MOVIE REACTION - WATCH ALONG

Comments

Draekor Targaryen

I'm so happy yall starting this series. one of my favorite series ever growing up and still is to this day.

Elliott Bullock II

Reacting to Steven Spielberg's magnum opus I see! Heck yeah!

J

OH MY GOD IT IS JURASSIC PARK RAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH 👹👹👹👹👹👹👹

Melissa Creel

This means I guessed wrong but I don't care. This is AWESOME!!! Welcome, to Jurassic Park. ♥️

Michael G. Munz

Fun fact*: They filmed a version where instead of telling the kid at the beginning how a velociraptor would hunt him, Dr. Grant just turns and punches the kid immediately. Test audiences didn't like it. *Legal note: May be an abject falsification I just made up.

Melissa Creel

Close Encounters. I went for waaay back. 🤷‍♀️

Michael G. Munz

And speaking of Samuel L. Jackson, have you seen him battle generically modified sharks in Deep Blue Sea? 😁

danzogonzo

Cleva gul! Jk 😁 🫡💯

danzogonzo

I'm just getting home and I see it... JURRASIC PARK!?! YOU BOTH HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS 🤯🤯🤯 HOLY SHIT! Basically, what I'm trying to say is, I'm very fucking excited to watch us with you guys! When it first came out, me and my family were very poor but we saw it four times in the theater nonetheless! This movie is the epitome of a classic 💯 by the way, speaking of movies that I saw, many times in the theater... ACE VENTURA PET DETECTIVE! When it came out on VHS, I watched it every day for a year and laughed just as hard, at every joke, like I did, like I never saw it before... Shits amazing 🤣 please react to it, if you've never seen it 😫... I promise, I'll be your best friend forever 💯

Raven Dark

They have seen it. it's a rewatch. They said they didn't remember most of it, so it's gonna be a great reaction.

Mike Jenson

Close Encounter, Raiders of the Lost Ark are also great classics

Donna Castellano

This movie was HUGE when it was out. I was fully into it. I had crap tons of merch, I saw it like 7 times in the theatre. I even have one of my senior photos with a JP shirt on. In my band class, we played the main theme from this. Since I've always been big into scores, I had this on CD so I brought it in to the director. We listened to it in class so everyone knew what it was SUPPOSED to sound like. Helped a lot of people out who'd never seen the movie or listened to scores like that. I will say, this is one of the few adaptations where I enjoy the book and the film equally. The source material is very different - like Hammond is that evil rich douche you said you liked he was not in the movie. And Grant loves kids because they almost always love dinosaurs as much as he does. Many characters are different in the book tho. Malcolm wasn't a slick, rizz master. There weren't a lot of big action pieces in the book they could've filmed on a reasonable budget. They did want to do the aviary scene, even had storyboards for it, but it was scrapped because it wasn't feasible. They could easily do it today with the updates in CGI. It was a lot of intellectual stuff going on, more of a dive into the "What is moral?" science aspect of it all. Still it's an amazing book. I've read almost all of Crichton's books. Unfortunately, not all of the adaptations were as good as this. Congo is okay but Sphere is definitely worth a look. Andromeda Strain was all right. Timeline was awful tho. Lastly, about Lex and the computer scene. She didn't actually hack into the system to turn everything on. It was ready to go but Ellie just didn't have the chance to find the right files. Lex was familiar with the UNIX system and able to navigate rather quickly to what they needed. Glad you enjoyed your rewatch. I generally like JP2 and even JP3 but I hated all the Jurassic World films. The quality degraded immensely with each installment. I couldn't even finish that last one.

Mister Lou

"Hold on to your buts!" I appreciate the fact that you two got a grip and held on to your buts! LOL but Sam Jackson connected this and Kong Skull Island with the same line. When They first entered "Jurassic Park" with the giant gates and fire, that is Spielberg referencing The (old school) King Kong movie, even Jeff Goldblum. says "Who does he have in here, Kinng Kong?" and then Sam L. Jackson says "Hold on to your buts" before they got into the storm on Kong: Skull Island. the whole full circle is just great,

Jordan Williams

Fun fact: When the T-Rex broke the glass roof on the SUV attacking the kids, it wasn’t scripted!! The animatronic went down further than it was supposed to, so the kids reaction to the roof falling in was genuine!!

David

You're like "why is this guy being Crocodile Dundee" and "don't play the hero", but he previously said that they are already being hunted by the velociraptors, so he really saved her by trying to shoot it.

danzogonzo

Sorry, I'm just reacting to the initial post, I've not seen anything yet 😘

Rich

To me, this is a perfect movie. I would change zero seconds of it

La Toya L

I look forward to seeing your reactions to the sequels. I love when one of you has seen the movie and the other hasn’t. It’s fun to see.

TJ

I remember seeing this as a kid. I never tire of watching it. Still amazed how realistic they made the dinosaurs in this movie at a time when special effects were just starting to take off.

Earl Grey

Awesome movie! It was a trip re-watching this with you guys. Thanks for sharing. How about that Samuel L. Jackson with the cigarette in his mouth 24/7 lol. What was that about?

Ender

I love this reaction great job you guys! And I look forward towards your reaction to the sequels❤️🦖

Raven Dark

Oh, man, this reaction. I feel like all I do is say how great things are, and I feel like a broken record, but this reaction is almost beyond description. it's so good. I loved every second, and I could watch it again and again. Having seen how much you loved certain aspects of this film, I have to ask, have you two seen E.T.? That's another Spielberg classic where the casting for the kids is on another level, and the practical effects are just fantastic. Great story, too. It would be the perfect reaction for you guys. Someone mentioned you have a reaction to it already, but I don't see it here or on Youtube. I also have to mention Independence Day again, because, like this film, it's another movie that grabs hold and never lets go, and for it's time, the special effects were jaw-dropping. Oh, and last time I mentioned it, I forgot to tell you... Jeff Goldblum (Ian Malcom) is in it, and he's amazing.

ButtercupsTrueLove

Michael Crichton had to be okay with Spielberg's film adaptation - Crichton co-wrote the screenplay. I re-watched "The Andromeda Strain" recently and it's a lot slower in pacing than I remembered - lots of repetitive exposition to show off the lab technology. It's a great story but this is one that could use a re-make. I agree completely on the "Jurassic World" series. I'll withhold my opinion because the movies are popular so maybe they're still worth a reaction video for TheMediaKnights to watch.

ButtercupsTrueLove

I like the detail during the scene with Dr. Grant trying to coax Tim to climb down the tree. The Jeep in the tree had tires with raised sidewall lettering that read, 'BF Goodrich All-Terrain Radial T/A'. As I watch this film quite often I can appreciate the care that went into production design for the Jurassic Park control room and Dr. Grant's and Ellie's trailer interior at the dig site.

WastedPo

Spielberg was/is the master. I honestly feel like the special effects in the first Jurassic Park are still more convincing and effective than the effects in Jurassic World. (It also speaks to how versatile Spielberg is that he basically filmed this back-to-back with Schindler's List.) The characters here have become iconic in pop culture (particularly Ian Malcolm). And the story, while outrageous, just feels so much more relatable than the newer Jurassic World movies. There is also a pretty clever meta element that the movie never gets the credit for - with all the branding and lunchboxes and merchandising for the movie baked into the storyline. Finally, yet another legendary John Williams score. Like so many of his scores, it transcended the movie, so that even people who have never watched the film likely have heard the music themes somewhere.

Is there a Patreon or Early Access to your 2.0 stuff? Can't wait for Fallout 3

Emily Gray

This was shot in Hawaii however, I recently had the pleasure of traveling to New Zealand and the movie could have easily have been filmed there. Landscape is nearly identical in many places! Lush rainforests, waterfalls, steep valleys...

Emily Gray

Ariana RIchardson (Lex) is also the young girl in the movie Tremors. She is a retired actress now and does art full time. You should check out her art. She is an AMAZINGLY talented painter! I wish I could afford one of her pieces!

Emily Gray

If you want evidence that dinosaurs turned into birds, look no further than Canadian geese! lol

Emily Gray

One thing they did gloss over in the scientific explanation department was that they used mosquito blood to clone dinosaurs. Sounds good, but...yeah...no. The only thing you can clone with mosquito blood is maybe more mosquitos and we don't need any more of those.

Brian Albright

The part from the book I wish they would have filmed was when they tranquillized the T-Rex and then it cornered them behind a waterfall, and the T-Rex wrapped its tongue around Lex but the tranqs kicked in at that second and it lost its grip. That would have been intense to watch.

Duarte Dunn

Jurassic park is my all time favorite movie. I'm sure Denise will love the other Jurassic Park movies, including the new Jurassic World movie trilogy.

Mike

Will this be uploaded to YT as well, or is just here on Patreon? I want to see the reaction, but I don’t want to dig through my boxes for my copy to watch along 😂

Casimir

You guys mention how they were looking to the future regarding VR so I thought I'd throw some info about them from this era. I remember one of the first VR in an arcade. You had to use a knob on the side to get the screens at the correct distance and the graphics is what you'd imagine for that era. There were some movies at that time that featured VR as a plot. The premise of one was that it could take a mentally handicapped person and turn him into a super intelligent God like being in the VR and from that he was the antagonist of the story. It was "The Lawnmower Man" and if you ever sit down and watch it, ask for your time back. And on that note I think I'll watch Ready Player One next.

Don't see the sequels, they're absolutely terrible. Lost World at least somewhat like 3% overlaps with the actual sequel to the book but everything after that is an unintentionally ironic meta of what this book was about to begin with which was the soulless, unthinking commercialization of literally everything in the galaxy, especially nature, and the complete, conscious disregard for ethical behavior and morality in the face of "progress." Many of Crichtons novels featured these core themes like Prey and Next, Lost World and Jurassic Park and one of them (Next) even features BioSyn and Lewis Dodgson, although very briefly. Even Jurassic Park 3 makes an attempt to include some leftover source material from the first book, and one 8 second part of Jurassic World 1 does as well, but I wouldn't go past 3 for sure. That's just my take as a fan who grew up with this book when it was new. I warned y'all in the comments, I have a lot to say about JP. If you do want more JP, I'd actually recommend Camp Cretaceous, the CG Netflix show that tied the Jurassic World movies together and is actually far more respectful to the source material than the movies.

Ludus Aurea

Keep in mind this story takes place in 1989. The movie came out in 93 and so it slightly downplays the technical advancements of the park, but the actual story was 1989. $150,000 donated to their research was way more money back then. Like $380,000 in today money. A lot of the movie was filmed on location in Hawaii, or, at least the establishing shots when they first get to the island. Haha sorry, like I said on YT, this is my actual favorite movie. Also, that ridiculous laugh from Jeff Golblum in the helicopter, there's a soundcloud song someone made out of it. https://soundcloud.com/flip-shot/hahahrawrrahaha

The Media Knights

Have to check “Tremors” out! Been hearing some good things about it 😄

The Media Knights

Not at the moment! We had a bunch of work lined up this month plus a move so it’s been hard getting some momentum on the 2.0 stuff. But more and better is coming!

The Media Knights

Man the score got us so emotional. Such a beautiful theme! And this film was just beyond excellent. Great use of a lot of tools when it comes to storytelling. The script, the buildup and anticipation and of course that climax when we finally see the T-Rex just makes this such an incredible journey.

The Media Knights

Thank you so much! That means a lot to both of us, truly. We’re so glad you’re enjoying these. Also we did see E.T. Had it up for over a year and a half but got into a scuffle with copyright.

Raven Dark

Oh no! Do you still have a copy of the reaction you could send me?

chase

glad they didn't listen to you. let people form their own opinions on shit lmao

Christian Carrera

when i first watch this in theater the sound was so loud people were leaving it sounded good for most of it but any dino screeching was so loud .
