ALIENS VS PREDATOR: REQUIEM (THEATRICAL) FULL LENGTH MOVIE REACTION - WATCH ALONG

I enjoyed this movie for the most part. I really wish they had done more work with the lighting in the movie to help us see better. The scene in the hospital was probably one of the more unsettling scenes I'd seen in the entire alien franchise, and maybe one we could have done without. But as we've seen with animals on our world, nature does not have any sympathy. I really enjoyed seeing the predator and aliens going at it, and definitely an interesting premise of having the pred alien be a praetorian at the same time.

I really loved you guys reaction to this. This is a movie, that's for sure. 😁 To me it seemed like a teenage slasher flick more than an Alien/Predator movie. Going for the shock value of killing a child and a pregnant lady is so slasher, he dies she dies everybody dies kind of move. And I could have went the rest of my life without seeing that hospital seen. That completely pulled me out like "I'm done." Didn't care about the rest of the movie after that. It's hard to enjoy the Alien or Predator aspect when it's hard to see them and with these random kills of characters we don't even know and that go way too far for no reason. Could have been so much better. I wanted it to be better. Keep the great reactions coming. Love you guys.

Do you guys happen to still have the Prey reaction around. I'd love to see the full version of it, but I can't find it by searching here.

You still need to see Predators (2010) and The Predator (2018). Both of them are great.

I wrote this whole big comment only for the internet to go out just as I hit "Post," so let me try to summarize it now. Before I watch your critique of the movie. I see two big complaints about this movie. It's filmed so dark so that you can't see half of it. And the human characters are throwaway characters that you don't care about. Both are true. Turning up the brightness helps a bit with one aspect of this movie (but you shouldn't have to). And you don't get much content to get to know the cast so that you care about the characters. The undeveloped characters would bother me in most movies, but not in this one. I didn't decide to watch an Alien vs. Predator movie to see human drama. If I got that also, great! But I watched this movie to see an experienced Predator wiping out Aliens. And this movie was very cool in that aspect (when you could see it). They could have cut out the humans entirely and gone with two hours of this Predator hunting and killing xenomorphs and any random human that got in the way and I would have been happy as could be.

I always liked that the Army has their built-in excuse to cover nuking the town, too. I mean, the town had a nuclear power plant, and the sheriff had already notified state and county officials of an explosion at the plant. So, they could nuke the town and then explain it away as a tragedy at the plant to keep their secrets. You have seen almost all of the Alien films now, but do you plan on watching "Predators" and "The Predator" to round out the two series? And have you done "Prey"? I don't have access to Hulu or Disney Plus, so I can't watch along with "Prey," but I was able to see it once at my cousin's house, and I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to whatever is coming next! ✌️🤓

So I noticed you guys went into this movie a little more light-hearted than you usually do. It almost seemed like you went into this one taking it less seriously. I happen to really like this one I didn't understand why people criticized it so much. Yes it's not a perfect movie but I think what they try to do was pretty amazing. I believe this is the only movie you ever get to see alien xenomorphs in a urban environment.

This one is really fun in my opinion. Was good to see old Rickety Cricket in something as well. He did a good job.

You guys have to check out predators from 2010 it has the vibes of the first one I think you’ll enjoy it

The running joke is the film made certain scenes super dark because "they didn't want people to see the sh*t they were filming!" LOL

Emperor Raven

Nice thoughts, I feel the same pretty much!

New to the channel hence why I’m just commenting, decided to sub as your one f the very few who’s done all the Alien and most of the predator films. But I pretty much agree with everything you both said about the movie. I can still pop it on and enjoy it for what it is, plus Wolf (what the predator is called) is probably the most bad ass out of the entire franchise. I do think this is very dark to cover things up as it’s was done with 20 million less an AvP. So working with a tight budget especially for a monster style sci-fi. The other thing to take into account was the two guys who directed had never done a movie before and I don’t think they did any more after this, as they just do music videos. But I know a lot of fans have been crying out for a film were the Pred is the protagonist, which we are now getting for Badlands. But this could have been the perfect film to do this as it should have followed Wolf move and cut out all the teen story. The two human parts we should really have tried to develop was the women with her little girl that had just come back from the military. And just had a few people join her as they tried to escape the town. But I’m now looking forward to seeing what you think of Prey and then I’m moving onto the Alien franchise.

AVP: Requiem is a gory, messy monster brawl that feels like an R-rated fan film with a huge budget. It’s a "must-watch" for the Wolf Predator scenes alone, but you’ll need to squint—a lot.
