Really happy y'all reacted to this one. This movie is always a fun movie to watch at any point. As far as the different predators are concerned, the group hunting the ones we're familiar with are probably considered bad bloods by the majority of predator society, basically labeling them as outcasts, poachers, or otherwise dishonorable hunters. They also use different hunting tactics from the ones we've seen in the other films by hunting in 3s and utilizing hunting dogs where the ones from previous films traveled to the planets of the species they hunted and hunted alone for the most part. I'm not an expert on the comics, but at least a few of the games/comics go into predator society a little bit more in depth including how their social structure is organized. There are some YT channels that cover the subject as well as the aliens' side of things.

My dad tells me that one of the trailers for this movie gave away literally everything that could have been surprising about it... Alien planet reveal, Laurence Fishburne decloaking and taking off the mask, "We triggered a dead man's trap," Topher Grace brandishing his scalpel... all of it. Fortunately, I was too young when the trailers came out to remember them by the time I finally saw the movie, because I saw this before I saw the original "Predator" and so I didn't have much idea what to expect. I also saw "Aliens" before "Alien." That's what happens when you're a kid pulling movies out of your dad's DVD collection at random. I can't say if this movie is as good when you've seen all of the movies up to this point. I'll have to leave that to your opinions. But it's a decent first entry into the series if you happen to see this before the original.

Another great reaction guys! I really enjoy Topher Grace is this and like most things he's in, he's just a side or supporting character.. I feel like he hardly gets a chance to shine and be the main guy. If you haven't seen his 2011 movie Take Me Home Tonight, I highly recommend it.

The rivalry between the predators(Yautja) isn’t based on size. It’s clans vs clans. Different clans have different tactics but their honor gains are the same. We never actually see the same clan twice in “predator” movies(except for AVP, Wolf(AvP:R) is from the same clan as that’s why he receives the distress signal but other clans don’t) and I guess Classic predator from this movie(probably same clan from the 1st movie).

This script was originally to be the third installment after predator 2 but they budgeted to high so Robert Rodriguez held on to it

Honestly a solid C+ film with pretty fun and wide ranging casting, great atmospheric tension and fear, really nice environmental backdrops and set designs, pretty dope action sequences with generally nice sound design! It was so fun watching you guys react to this as I have it right behind Predator 2 in ranking and it does come with a package of positives that really creates a good deal of immersion for the viewer! <3

Predators is easily the second or third best entry in the franchise (competing with Prey for the silver medal). It’s a solid B+ action movie that understands exactly what fans want: cool gadgets, creative kills, and a reminder that humans can be just as monstrous as the aliens hunting them.
