This movie is Fantastic. One of those that's better than you would think. Great fun.

Fun fact for you; the blonde ex girlfriend is the girl who got pinned into the wall in the hospital towards the end of Alien vs. Predator: Requiem

Dustin Duvall

This is a weird one for me. I first saw this film when it came out and thought it was pretty good. Later on, I realized it was based on a Miles Millar comic. Most of the movies based on his comics are good so that made sense (Kingsman, Kick-Ass, Captain America: Civil War, Logan). Then I read the comic and here comes the problem. Unlike many of the others this one misses the point of the comic. In the comic they are not assassins. They are villains. Straight up villains. Wesley joins the Fraternity and truly gets to live out every sick fantasy he has ever had. They rob banks, kill people who annoys them and rapes people indiscriminately. The basic plot is the same (he thinks his father is dead etc) but all of them have different powers. Only Wesley and his father can use weapons in these specific ways where as the other members has other skills (think Sinister 6, but just a lot more people). The whole point of the comic is to explore what happens when a person who is so mundane and boring gets complete carte blanche. What would you do? The film has turned the whole theme into something else and I feel like they did the comic dirty here. However, let's focus on the movie for a second. If we ignore the comic book connection, it's not bad. The action is insane, the plot is fun, the score is cool and the effects still look great. Some cool camerawork and fine acting from McAvoy. Sure it's over the top, but what's wrong with that? As long as you don't approach it expecting realism it's fine. Wesley is relatable (unlike in the comic where he is indeed an a-hole) and we all want him to win. Jolie plays Jolie, which is fine, and Freeman just walks around swinging his gravitas and it all works. Overall it's a great time, I just end up wishing they had had the balls to go all the way like the comic did. If you want more Morgan Freeman, here are some good ones you may have missed: Lucky Number Slevin (2006) Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) Unforgiven (1992) Chain Reaction (1996) Kiss the Girls (1997) Red (2010)

Jordan Williams

If you want more bad ass gun action or "Gun Fu", watch Equilibrium with Christian Bale!

Michael G. Munz

I saw this one in the theater. I was having fun, but then it just lost me when all those people on the train died and no one seemed to care at all. That always hit me the wrong way, even though I know it's just a fiction. I think it made me just not care about any of the characters past that point.

Mister Lou

awesome! thanks for this! I haven't seen this in SO LONG that revisiting it with you guys genuinely felt like a 1st time viewing again. like I always say, keep up the good work! I can't wait to see what you guys do next!

The Media Knights

Oooohhh that sounds fun!! Adding that to our list, thank you for the recommendation!

The Media Knights

Oh absolutely, we had no clue what we were walking into and we were bamboozled in the best way!!

The Media Knights

First of all, thank you so much for breaking down the comics for us a little, it helps us understand what happened a little better. It's definitely interesting how much they chose to change up the story from the comic. It could have been a bit of a sign of the times, because I feel like now that we have something like The Boys, the audience is actually ready for the kind of darkness happening in these comics - it does depend on the angle one would choose to adapt it from of course. But yeah, we totally agree, it's a fun movie, everyone is charismatic as all heck, and the action is a blast. Thank you for taking the time to comment and offer recommendations, we appreciate you! Adding them to our list!

Madison Chilelli

Could you do a review on Only the Brave or Thirteen Lives? Both are based on true stories, and incredibly good movies. Only the brave is directed by Joseph Kosinski (director of Top Gun: Maverick). Thirteen lives is directed by Ron Howard!

The Media Knights

Gun Fu ahahah that is awesome, we never heard of that before!! Equilibrium is on our list, thank you for the recommendation!

The Media Knights

Thanks so much for sharing your input with us! Yeah, the whole train disaster going on the way it did, with no repercussions is definitely a choice 😂

The Media Knights

Thank you so so much for your kindness and for supporting us, it really brightens our day!! ❤️

Daniel Karlsson

I agree, dark comics being film wasn't really a thing then. It makes sense to change the plot. Would be interesting to do a re-make now and see what would happen. Thanks for the reactions, always fun to check out stuff with you guys!

PDC717

Yep! Never became a big star, but she has worked pretty consistently.

Greg Delaney

i was so obsessed with this movie when it came out i made a cheesy montage video with a background song and everything. and for what it is, 16 years old, i think it holds up pretty well lol love your reactions btw you guys rule! https://youtu.be/aq1mgGLy_Lc?si=VaVJmTwIFa3LBE3L
