I’m so glad you guys liked this movie! Too bad we had to wait so many years. I hope they make a third one. It would be interesting if they had a story themed around Jack Jack, growing up and trying to have control over his insane powers, because I can imagine that might be tempting in the future. Like he’s gonna have to learn some serious restraint. On another note. Considering you guys like these movies so much. if you haven’t already seen it, I highly recommend The Iron Giant. It’s another Brad Bird classic and one of his best!

2026-09-07 06:00 I do love this movie and the first one, though I am sad they regressed Bob's characters a bit. He's grown in the first movie to accept that being selfish doesn't help the greater good, and learns to accept that he can't pull the weight of being a Super alone. In this movie he sadly regresses back to being obsessed with himself becoming a Super again. There's a third movie planned, so I'm excited to see what they'll do in there.

I think i used to think the same until i watched the commentary and how its meant to be seen by the writers/animators is that hes struggling with being a parent. Like he realizes being selfish doesn’t help here still (see convo by the pool) but its the feeling of being unwanted by the guy restarting the superhero gig. I think you can def still see the character development from last movie, its just him now having to put that knowledge to good use which i feel he does for a lot of the movie. I dont think anyone would enjoy watching a super powered baby while their wife is having fun, but i think him supporting her and not tryna worry her is part of his learning of like ‘hey bud if you’re struggling, u can tell ur wife’ LMAO

Hadn't seen this one so decided to join you. This was a lot of fun! Even more creative and even more epic somehow, but also quite endearing. Like you I enjoyed the role-swap between Bob and Elastigirl, with him being a stay at home dad. The villain is interesting enough, although maybe not as fun as Ssyndrome. Somewhat scarier in a lot of ways though. Interesting that both main villains have been Lex Luthor-types, extremely smart but powerless. They are very much leaning into the Supers vs Normals in both movies, but it is an interesting storyline and topic so it doesn't feel repetitive. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Extra fun watching with you guys of course! Thank you.

I love that you two are diving into more animated movies now. As someone who grew up with a lot of these movies, as an adult I actually appreciate great animation and great animated movies more so than live action. I still love film in general and have loved watching a lot of these great live action films with y'all, but I find myself drawn more towards animation than live action so I really hope you keep it up. I'm not going to make any more recommendations to you in this comment since I know the sheer amount of them must be overwhelming, but I have plenty that I'd love to give you one day.

My mom is a huge fan of the Incredibles! Screenslaver is a step down from Syndrome. I also wish the mind controlled goggles were something more discreet or barely visible. I still love it! I can't wait for the third film.
