Took me a little bit to find it but through the power of being the biggest avatar fan and my favourite reactors watching this masterpeice I have found my old copy of the extended 16 mins edition, i knew i still had it somewhere! Now to relax with ma snacks and watch!

I think for watch-alongs on a digital platform, a digital version of the movie should be available for the reactions (a disc copy should not be necessary)

Extended cut isn't available online in my country so that's suck. It's hard to watch when u need to skip and figure it out to sync it again.

I really love this movie especially the extended cut because you get to understand him more, being a veteran myself with PTSD and seeing that beginning resonated with me. You go to war and then when you come back nothing feels real and a lot of vets feel that way, especially the ones who come back with disabilities. You're frustrated and you don't feel like you fit in anymore, and just like Jake you do crazy things to feel alive with no care to your own health and life. But then you find something to do which gives you hope and something to fight for which all down trodden vets want because we don't know where to put that energy and we feel, at least for myself, unwanted and not needed. This was an amazing film. That being said, I kinda hope that, even if its not apart of this, that you watch Battle Angel before watching Avatar: the way of water, I think thats another great JC film and it was known that James Camron had the rights to Battle Angel since the Mid 90s but never made it because he stated that the tech in film making wasn't there yet and that he was working on a film with the tech, IE Avatar, before he could do Battle Angel. So basically what he learned in Avatar technically, is what he brought to this 90s old franchise of a dystopian future and I would love to see what your take on it is.

Just wanted to point out ... Daisy Cutters are a type of areal bomb that explodes above the ground instead of on the ground on impact. Didn't look like that reference was clear. It's also the nickname for the BLU-82B bomb, a 15000 pound explosive that was used mainly in the Vietnam war to clear vegetation for things like helicopter landing fields.

This movie has really stood the test of time! It looks like it was made lot more recently than 2009. Movies like this, I wish I could see for the first time all over again. Awesome reaction! ❤️

I kinda agree, but at the same time comparing it to Pocahontas is kinda weird aswell. The Themes in Avatar are in many more movies and it's literally another species not humans. Sure they clearly took inspiration from actual cultures but it's definitely it's own story. And it's actual message of anti-war and preserving nature are simple but good messages. But I get where you're coming from.

I'll have to agree here. Pocahontas, The Fast and The Furious and a movie I'd rather not spoil, had pretty much the same structure. It's not bad, it's just familiar.

I watched this reaction twice now. I really love the Worldbuilding in this movie. It's also really nostalgic, since i pretty much grew up watching this movie atleast once a month. I'm really looking forward to your reaction to the sequel(s) ❤️
