Great episode this week...worth the wait..im loving the IT + Shining connection...how cool it will be if the season finale pennywise meets Jack Torrance lol 😆 😀 wishful thinking

The Media Knights

Haha It would be insane if Hallorann gets to see a glimpse into his future. That’s the only way we can see Torrance showing up however a reference of the Overlook Hotel is not that crazy once all this is over 😁❤️ Amazing episode! Loving this show so far

So the films and this miniseries have been kind of doing their own thing with It and Pennywise, but in the novel the earliest record Mike is able to find of Pennywise is from a sketch from the early 1700s. Pennywise himself was never a person, but just It's version of a clown during that time period. It prefers using Pennywise as its mask when going after children in the novel because it believes clowns are what children fear the most, but also because it can blend in with adults and lure in kids that like clowns. Whenever Pennywise refers to himself as a human, he calls himself Robert Gray, which is interesting because in Dreamcatcher, the alien antagonist is referred to as 'Mr. Gray' and there is an It crossover in that book. I have zero clue what they're going to do with any of that in this miniseries, but I do hope they keep closer to the book since the films deviated a lot.

the cigar box made wish to see Mr. Jangles the mouse from Green Mile.. but still a great episode

You made mention of "a whole universe" and it made me giggle. Unless you're a full King fan ... you have *nooooo* idea how deep the rabbit hole goes, from small mentions here of Shawshank... to other books mentioning the "Losers" in 11/22/63... to a slaw of soft mentions in "The Stand"... even a wink of a nod in "Desperation" and with Hallorann the obvious connection to "Shining" "How'd you know we call him doc?" -Shining "I never told you I have a son" - Welcome to Derry Juniper Hill itself the psychiatric institution near King's Derry, Maine. It appears in It, Insomnia, Needful Things, Gerald’s Game, The Tommyknockers, Bag of Bones, 11/22/63, and more. And as @Mister Lou mentions while not the same brand the "cigar box" is widely considered to be the nod to "Green Mile" - it is the same colors though more faded by the time Paul Edgecombe utters the words: « Le cirque de souris… le petit cirque de Mr. Jingles. » The King-Verse is huge.

So far I am very much enjoying all the lore in this. They are really taking their time to present the whole world, which is very cool. Looking forward to the next one.
