I wasn’t expecting this to come out now but excited to see this movie. Can’t wait to see Ted 2 when you decide to release that too.

Hi 👋 Ari & Denise Hope You Both are Doing well .... "TRON ARES" I, just Watched this Movie & Reaction & I, 💯% Agree with You Both • while it was a Good Watch, compared to "TRON : LEGACY" this was not up there in Quality, Having it Stray away from the previous Films, to go Off, on it's Own, Journey was a BAD Choice (my Opinion Only....) I, 'AGREE' what Denise mentioned • This Movie 🎬 shouldn't Have the TRON Name, I, Like Her Suggestion Better - "THE GRID" Nevertheless • This was Entertaining, But it's a 1-Time Watch, I, won't Return for another Viewing. The Soundtrack was the ONLY thing that was Memorable. Hopefully the Next, "TRON" Movie, will Return to What was more Appreciated & Enjoyed By Viewers... Thankyou for this Reaction & I, Look towards the Next Selection from your List..... Cheers 🍻 HUGs 🫂 🌻 • Left some 'DM' on PATREON for You, Both

I hope you guys see my comment because I wasn't able to watch with you guys until today. I saw this movie 4 times in the theatre within the span of like a week and a half. The last time I saw it, it was in 3D, which I usually don't like, but this movie takes on a whole other level of cool in 3D. Those opening credits with the news reports were trippy AF. And it's one of the few movies that used 3D in service of the film. I'm really bummed y'all had to wait for the channel to watch this because 3D would've knocked your socks off. I know this got bad reviews and Disney has pretty much nixed anymore live action TRON films but I really loved this one. I did have some nitpicks and one plot issue with it tho. They incorrectly credited Flynn with creating ENCOM "in his arcade in the 80s". Walter Gibbs - the older guy who was working on the laser tech in the first one - started the company in his garage. It's referenced in Legacy, when Sam is living in a garage with the name Dumont on it (Dumont being Gibbs' program name in the original). Absolutely no reference at all to Alan Bradley when they talked about ENCOM. He was a huge part of that company during the time Flynn vanished until Sam stepped up at the end of Legacy. I'm just baffled there. I thought it would've been a neat little cameo for TRON if he appeared with the Flynn "vision". Sort of like security for the old Flynn Grid. Ares would've been perceived as an enemy program in the system, given he was still reading red at that time. IDK if Bruce Boxleitner wasn't asked/turned down the use of his likeness for TRON, but I think that would've been the coolest place to have him appear. Since we may never get any new TRON material again, I have to once more recommend TRON: Uprising. It'd be a really quick watch for you guys and you'd get more lore and awesome new characters to follow. As mentioned prior, the show takes place between the original film and Legacy. NIN definitely did a great job. Loved their score. Definitely fit the vibe of this particular movie. When you guys get a chance, listen to the track that plays when Ares and Eve escape the Dillinger Grid on the light jetski, "What Have You Done?". It's definitely harder to pick out when watching this movie on a TV as opposed to the big screen. That track is just 👄🤌 My plot issue is the permanence code itself. Everything it said ENCOM was doing at the end of this one, it's what was supposed to happen with Sam bringing Quorra and HER ISO code out into the real world. I don't know if they were planning on addressing it in the next film they would have made, given Ares is actively looking for Quorra at the end of this movie or what. That just bothered me each time I watched it. Like what did Sam lose his father for in Legacy then? So glad you both enjoyed it tho.

So, right away, we should all be deeply concerned about a program called “Aries”. The horoscope sense of that name isn’t any big deal, but the mythological sense is VERY troubling. Aries = God of War In other words, if all I ever give you is a hammer, then everything is a nail. What exactly is she trying to find on a 5.25” floppy disk? They had almost no storage space at all. This movie is the Jurassic Park of futuristic fantasy AI. While attempting to ask, “Can we build this?” they neglected to ask, “Should we build this?” Testing permanence (in this movie) is exactly the same as the park power going out (in Jurassic Park). I also love how sci-fi writers ignore the conservation of energy. To “particle-laser print” new matter, you either have to take existing matter and reconfigure it at a molecular level (which is so insanely complicated it would strain even Star Trek replicator tech), or you would have to (also) create the matter itself, which would require billions of times more power than the entirety of human civilization has ever created. Interestingly, Aries isn’t exactly being humane. He’s realizing that if HE takes the permanence code for himself, HE can have ALL of the power for himself. It’s not an emotional choice; it’s a completely rational choice. His AI has figured out the intrinsic connection between power and survival faster than any of the other AIs. Holy cow! It actually looks like the 80s grid. Imagine using 2020s computers to recreate 1980s computer animation. Talk about overkill. And then the movie turns into Mechagodzilla 2. Is it the older sister making the (dead) younger sister proud, or is it the older sister making sure that her younger sister doesn’t outshine her? Hmmm. --- So, even if you skipped this movie and went straight to a proper trilogy sequel, what would the story be about? It seems to me that the larger story arc needed to live more in the "real" world than the "grid" worlds. But I also don't feel as though the first two movies created enough of a hook for developing a "programs in the real world" story. From that perspective, this movie actually did a brilliant job of laying the foundation for a large-scale programs+humans coexistence story. This franchise, should it continue, has to face the same exact challenge that both Westworld and Humans had to face: how exactly does coexistence play out? Does it make sense? Is it entertaining? How do the plot twists maintain an overall positive direction without tying the entire plot into a hopelessly messy knot? I think if someone can create an incredible blockbuster script for the 4th movie, it could get made. Moving forward, good luck. May the odds be forever in your favor. --- Thank you both SO MUCH for criticizing criticizing! I'm so sick of my favorite movies and shows getting hated on and perpetually trashed for no good reason. The hating always lacks both nuance and expertise. I remember in the early years of Harry Potter, people would say the worst things about the series. And yet, when you ask them if they read the books, they'd say, "Oh, I read the first chapter of the first book, hated it, and never picked it up again." Then, you ask them if they've seen the movies, and they'd say, "Oh heavens no. I'd never watch them for [blah blah blah] reasons." So let me get this straight: you take every available opportunity to hate on someone else's creation but you don't even take the time to fully experience it?" This is where smart-phone-wielding social-media culture is at now. There's no willingness to put in the hard work, and no ability to communicate ideas more complex than "swipe right" or "swipe left".
