I wonder if we'll get a breakdown of more scenes sometime in the future. It was incredibly insightful to learn how they changed the pilot from Silco's monologue to the cold open. The first time watching Arcane, I'd felt Silco's underwater speech hit so differently from what had come before. It makes sense in hindsight of course, but I know Id have such a hard time actually settling for so many changes after what it seems the team went through. If Id been fixated on having such a strong monologue, too, that'd be tough to see it another way. It's amazing to learn that the team stayed flexible and were more than willing to take critique, a literal shutdown and what was likely more resistance that we didn't see in this bts.

I don't know if you are interested but the writers of the show did an AMA on reddit r/arcane where they discussed more about the process.

I was like the 140th comment in that AMA thread and sad they didn't get around to my question (or didn't want to answer it) "Which characters in Arcane would eat pineapple pizza?"

Yes, they did a sketch of the Popstar music video with the 3 founders of Fortiche and Christian Linke instead of the LOL characters who compose K/DA. It's so cool and funny. I would have liked to see a final and complete version. The way the creators of Arcane reacted to the mediocrity of the first pilot is truly inspiring for everyone, not just the artists: 1. Admit it when it's not good, stop and think about it; 2. Accept that the completion of the project will take longer than expected; 3. Even better, produce something unexpected (Rise and Popstar) and sharp your skills thanks to the acknowledgment of failure. That's how you get to do something great. But above all, I want to drink wine with Melinda Dilger and Willie Nelson!

This is what the characters of Arcane think about pineapple pizza. SILCO: "You can go your whole life without having to face such a choice. But it changes you forever". HEIMERDINGER: "Pineapple pizza?! Noooooo." SINGE: "The Italians created the pizza with tomatoes, ham and cheese, but fortunately we have the ability to change this composition." JAYCE: "It's not a theory. I've seen some with my own eyes." BENZO: "The younger folk think it's the right thing to do." MEL: "The world is ready. I have already spoken to several potential investors". JINX: "Wow, super boring." EKKO: "It's not enough to give people what they need to survive, you have to give them something good." VIKTOR: "In the pursuit of great, we failed to do good." CAITLYN: "How can you think about pineapple ? Don't you have any white truffles?" VI: "You talk too much, just eat it." VANDER: "It's on you."

Lmao. I presented this to a fanfic server and I had the following headcanons come up: Vi and Cait both thought the other liked pineapple pizza and kept ordering for each other out of respect, but in reality, Cait figured Vi would like the juicy fruit since its prolly both fresh and something Vi's prolly never had access to before in the Undercity - Vi only kept eating it cuz maybe its how Topsiders had their pizza. Jinx would say it was lame cuz why not throw candy on top of pizza as well? Viktor would eat pineapple pizza since the acidity would help the sweetness come through and his sense of taste needs the help - his sickness makes many things taste bland. And Jayce would've been introduced to pineapple pizza through Viktor, but likes it just to like it cuz Jayce is a weird guy :)

They definitely went above and beyond to give us a show that was spectacular. Sometimes some pressure is all it takes to create something special. They had an amazing idea and invested everything they had in it. It's safe to say that taking that risk paid off. Arcane is one of those special shows that just grips you from the start and delivers such an incredible punchline that satisfies you in every single way. From storytelling, to visual, to score and sound. It's excellence. Cant wait to see the rest of this journey!

Love to see some of the workspace and hearing some of the hardships the team had to go through. So often we get the finished product and fail to acknowledge the entire journey. This is an amazing way of connecting with you guys and getting a glimpse of the process. Which is most definitely fascinating. Thank you and the rest of the Arcane team for your brilliant work ❤️
