KILL BILL VOL 1 FULL LENGTH REACTION!

What a surprise! I recommended this film to you a few months ago and I was like «sorry for such obvious choices, you've probably seen all my recommendations already, I only like la crème de la crème, but you never know...» Tarantino is my favorite director, for two reasons. First of all, everything is always very structured, divided into chapters and, as you said, everything is meticulous and everything makes sense. No detail is insignificant, we can find plenty of connections in the same film and between films. She did or said it the same way as so-and-so, or completely opposite, for a very specific reason. For me, Tarantino is the opposite of David Lynch, whose films are more «poetic», less rational, everything is quite vague and open and indeterminate, which I don't like. With Tarantino, the mind can work in a way that suits me better. Then, I love its radical side, diehard, the frank colors, the western silences, the intensity. And Kill Bill is my favorite Tarantino. This volume 1 has for me as main theme the resemblance between O-Ren and The Bride. They are respectable enemies to each other: The Bride's eyes are full of emotion when O-Ren apologizes for underestimating her, and O-Ren dies as a samurai in a beautiful setting. They have a similar story, they are driven by revenge. I am therefore convinced that it is no coincidence that the bride has finished the sentence of O-Reen «Silly rabbit, trix are for kids». Also, when O-Reen is hiding under the bed and shooting Boss' henchmen in the ankles (the one whose head she later cuts off is called Boss Tanaka...), the scene reminds me of The Bride just before she sheared off the nurse's ankles. Here, with Tarentino, everything is connected! Also, not only is Tanaka's death reminiscent of HOTD (Daemon: «Say it!» Damned, I love it!), but Aria Stark is very similar to O-Ren (besides having a list...), notably in this scene where she sadistically cuts the throat of Meryn Trant, a pedophile to whom she calmly asks «do you know who I am?». You need to watch this scene again. Anyway, I can't wait for volume 2. Get ready to see me pestering you with comments. I could talk about Tarantino for hours! Thank you very much for this reaction!

I love the details that you pointed out! This film felt very methodical and intentional from a story aspect and also a cinematic one. It was able to do this without feeling overly clinical and still keeping it organic and letting the story flow. Tarantino is so freaking good at what he does. The action in this was brutal and so raw. I could clearly see how this movie inspired action films that are coming out 20+ years later. If that is not a statement I don't know what is. Thank you so much for suggesting such a great time!

This is something you may not know about in the anime part with O-Ren, the man in the white suit is actually Bill.
