All right, so the first full trailer for the upcoming Streetfighter movie just released online. It's almost 3 minutes of flashy, gaudy, cheesy action-packed madness which is, funny enough, making me feel giddy again about a fighting game movie. To be fair, I felt the same way about the first live-action SF film starring JVCD and Raul Julia. That film is a classic- a campy classic, and I can never hate it. Now we have a new one which doesn't seem as campy as they do seem to have gone for the more-or-less faithful to the games approach when it comes to visuals, along with over-the-top action to portray the iconic moves and attacks. Some thoughts...

Ryu (in his hobo form) reminds me of his version in the old parody series Streetfighter the Later Years ('I ate rats')- maybe that was intentional? I like it lol.

People are looking the part for the most part, costumes are very recognizable

Cammy is clearly in her villainous Killer Bee persona and she has quite a few scenes. Hoping she has a lot more exposure than in the previous SF movies. She is hot af.

Chun-Li looks the part and seems to be with Ryu and Ken as the main protags. Hoping she has a redone fight scene in her undies against Vega.

Lots of flashy moves fro the games, the cheesier and more over the top, the better I say.

Not much shown of M.Bison, but since his actor is Polka Dot Man who is pretty good, I have high hopes. Probably will be more subdued than Raul Julia's version, but next to that I think everyone would be.

I wish they put Juri in the film, but maybe if this movie is a hit we'll see her in a sequel.

I do hope that the absurd theories online that characters coming in SF6 Season 4 will be dictated by this move is false, no matter how good or bad it turns out.

Overall, I like what I saw, this will be a spectacle, and I hope it succeeds. The film hits theaters in October this year, check out the trailer for yourself on Youtube.

Excited for both this and Mortal Kombat II. If both movies will work, then maybe Tekken will get a proper adaptation, as it deserves - like, back to the first game, no shoehorning characters from later games just because they are popular.
