Rumor: Tifa Lockhart Coming in SF6 Season 4?! (Patreon)

Okay, here's a little something to chew on, though if you've made the rounds on social media or gaming channels, you'll probably have seen this. So there's a rumor that just surfaced about the latest 'leak' about Streetfighter 6's featured DLC fighters for Season 4. Of course, Ingrid, the final Season 3 character is on the way (Gameplay Trailer tomorrow), so already people are already looking to the future on what's on the horizon for SF6.

Here's the tricky bit- the latest rumored leak is saying that Season 4 will feature Vega, Gouken, Haggar and... Tifa Lockhart. TIFA LOCKHART.

So one can, as some have, immediately call BS on this. For me, the most outrageous thing is that there is only ONE babe (hearkens back to Season 1). Yeah, yeah- its Tifa Freakin' Lockhart but even so, earlier rumors mentioned Makoto and Menat (best leak for me). As hot and awesome Tifa is, not really 100 percent she's worth two also amazing returning fighters.

Anyway, so is this plausible? According to the ones reporting this news, the leaker is the same one who predicted/leaked the news that Terry and Mai would be coming. This is kinda significant, but that doesn't mean its a lock. Capcom could have let out fake leaks to mislead us all. Might be a bit elaborate, but who knows.

Also, it got me thinking- why have we only heard about this now? IF it was true, then Tifa will have been in development for a while, if she is going to release in Season 4. They really kept on top of that info. But then, is this the reason why Tifa was never able to release in Tekken 8, even though only an IDIOT would pick another FF character like, oh, Clive Rosfeld over Tifa. Hey, we do know Tekken devs don't have all the bells in their belfries, so who knows? I'm actually thinking maybe Harada's resignation was caused by him not securing Tifa for Tekken and 'losing' her to Capcom. But that's just a THEORY...

Personally, if this turns out to be true- it will be COOL. SF6 devs will without a doubt do her justice, she will most assuredly look amazing, and her moves and fighting style will be very loyal to how she has fought in previous games. All that plus Tifa in RE Engine should look great (I do hope they fill her physique out instead of going with her anorexic FF proportions).

But honestly, part of me is hoping this isn't actually true, and that we get Makoto and Menat as per the earlier rumors. I know people will be disappointed, and any other character will seem lackluster compared to Tifa, but we'll have to see when it actually does happen. Tifa WILL sell loads, if the reaction to Mai was any indication. Hell... Chun-Li, Mai Shiranui and now Tifa in one game? SF6 is cooking, that is true. But are they cooking with extra sauce or what... only time will tell.
