Upcoming Change: Switching to Monthly Billing

Back in November, we made a post about switching over to a monthly Patreon model (i.e. charging per month instead of per creation). What we didn’t know yet is that over the next few months, Patreon is moving all creators to monthly subscription billing as part of a platform-wide update. It’s mainly driven by Apple’s App Store policies, and by the end of this transition, the old per creation billing option will be gone for everyone.

We’ll be switched over sometime before before April 1st, though we don’t have the exact date just yet.  

So what does this mean for you?

If you're currently being billed per video, that will switch to monthly billing — meaning you'll be charged once a month, regardless of whether we release a new video during that time.

We know this is a shift, and we totally understand if you have mixed feelings. That said, we’re always working on projects behind the scenes — research, scripting, visuals, and more — and a monthly model better reflects the effort that goes into every part of the process, not just the final video.

New Patreon Tiers 

We’re updating our tier prices to better match what we offered before. Unfortunately, Patreon isn’t letting us set custom prices before the switch happens. On the day of the the switchover, your per-creation pledge will automatically become monthly. However, we will immediately go in and manually adjust prices to the following tiers: 

Yellow Mustard  → Ramp Check ($1/month)

Dijon Mustard → Ready to Roll ($3/month)

• Exclusive posts and updates

• Access to a never-released Mustard video: “The Horrors of Early 19th Century Surgery”

Whole Grain Mustard → Light the Cans ($5/month)

• Exclusive posts and updates

• Access to a never-released Mustard video: “The Horrors of Early 19th Century Surgery”

• Discount on every new item added to the Mustard store

• Your name/channel/company in the credits (opt-out available)

• Access to all exclusive Mustard videos on Nebula

Honey Mustard → Supercruise ($10/month)

• Exclusive posts and updates

• Access to a never-released Mustard video: “The Horrors of Early 19th Century Surgery”

• Discount on every new item added to the Mustard store

• Your name/channel/company in the credits (opt-out available)

• Access to all exclusive Mustard videos on Nebula

• Free item from the Mustard store (after each year of support, by request)

Hot Mustard → Edge of Space ($50/month)
