When I heard this song for the first time, I had already stanned EXO and I watched this MV, and then watched the MV again, and again, and again, then watched about 50 people's reactions to this....And every single one, including myself had that same Expression that you did about half way through....Mouth wide open, but no words coming out....Your reaction was priceless....Enjoy your Gym Workout tomorrow...It'll be an EPIC day at the gym.

They have two pre-releases before the debut of MAMA. The first one is totally R&B with D.O. & BAEKHYUN, the EXO-K main vocalists, called WHAT IS LOVE. As you know EXO was once split into two groups, one singing in Korean and the other singing in Mandarin! CHEN & LUHAN were the Main vocalists for EXO-M!

Yes, this was the most epic debut for a group, ever. I don't know the other debut you referenced, but if it was after 2012 then it stands to reason this debut had an impact on the decision to make the other one, however it was done. EXO will keep you mesmerized. You'll eventually get to the point where you realize no other male group can compare to them because not only are they insanely good vocally, but their discography is the most unique of any group/artist I have ever encountered. I have never heard such a wide array of genres done by one male group or single male artist. They have two MVs that came out first (kind of like this last album where they did two pre-release MVs before the title track MV) The debut album pre-release MVs are "What is Love" (SERIOUS R&B) and "History" (MV looks a bit like MAMA, as far as the production, but there's no Gregorian chanting). Amazing that they didn't sample the chanting from an opera or something, isn't it? I absolutely LOVE your reactions to them. It makes us EXO-Ls proud to share their talent. Watching other people discover EXO is one of the coolest things in Kpop, in my personal opinion. Thanks for this reaction, it's greatly appreciated.

Might be my favorite EXO song. It really is so good

Elise Logan

This song is just so good. Nothing else to be said about it. It's just amazing.

Goodness sakes. How could I forget to mention how EXO's concept started? Lee Sooman, the founder of their record label, was doing a radio show decades earlier. He allegedly looked outside and saw 12 lights in the sky, of unknown origin. (Dates of radio host confirmed) https://www.tellerreport.com/life/2020-11-07-%22ufo-appeared-over-the-blue-house-in-1976-%22-----i-want-to-know-it---tracing-the-hidden-truth.BJ6N4JjmKP.html (possible confirmation of story) It had a very large effect on him, so years later as the Executive of SM Entertainment, he was working on a new boy group and decided to incorporate his personal experience. The concept is based on new age Hinduism (an ancient Asian religion) and is mixed with the "alien like" encounter.

Teresa

Oh yeah, I wonder if he knows Chen and Xiumin aren't on this track? He'll need to watch the EXO M version for them. Also, he should go back and find where they sang a portion of this on Killing Voice. The part they sang started with Suho playing with water in this video. He also needs to go ahead and do What Is Love and History. :)
