Progress:
Writing - 10,000~ words
So, at 10k words, I believe the content that I've covered for chapter 2 is around 70%. There's still quite a bit to be done but I apologise if the script writing is taking too long. For this, I should explain a little about my writing style.
When I write, I don't like drawing outline for the plot, like what leads to what, what happens after what happened... I just write as I go. But there's a reason for this.
The reason is... I will always have a better idea.
Maybe when I go to bed, I find a better concept for the flow of the story. Or, I could be taking a shit and I can think of a better way to portrait a character. The possibilities are endless and I definitely do not like going back to an outline just to cross it out and replace it.
Why have an outline if I don't follow it? You may say it's just to have a visual representation of the current and planned plotline, which I agree! So, here comes the conclusion...
I don't want to do it, that's all. I have the ability to connect the strings in my mind and I think it's more beneficial for me this way. The downside is it may require much more time to write out the entire chapter. Personally, I don't think it's a bad thing. I'm trading speed for quality.
I have proven this point over and over again to myself, that I can always be better, write better and render better.
I know, this is kinda stupid. Of course, you'll be better if given enough time. But that's exactly what I'm trying to do with Sort of Justice. I'm slowly becoming more well-rounded as a developer.
In the future, I believe the quality of my production will only get better.
Future Plan:
Let's talk about chapter length this week.
Now, obviously, my lovely players would want each chapter to contain as much content as possible. So, here's a goal for me.
I need to keep the length of each chapter *consistent*.
It's a pretty good practice for my development that each chapter will contain roughly the same amount of content.
But this will definitely affect the way I structure each chapter from now on.
After I started writing chapter 2, I realise I'm in desperately need to set a limit for each chapter.
If a chapter contains too much content, it'll take more time to produce.
If a chapter contains too little content, players will get blue balls.
After chapter 2. I'll determine how much content will be in a chapter first.
But even if I can't keep it consistent. Just remember, all chapters in the future will either be the same length of chapter 1 or more.
