Multiplayer news (Patreon)

Hey my heroes!
I've made some solid progress on multiplayer, but there's still more work to do. It's possible I'll have it ready for you in March, but there's a good chance it'll spill over into the first weekend of April.
Honestly, most of the effort hasn't been about multiplayer itself, but more about tweaking the old code so everything doesn't go haywire with multiple players. People say turning a single-player game into multiplayer can be a headache, and even though our game is pretty simple right now, I can definitely relate! 😅
Some stuff I am still working on:
-Remote players' sleds (moving track, driver, skies) are static.
-Everyone appears to have the same sled (check out the screenshot!).
-All the UIs
-Simple public game list-server
Unfortunately, I won't have dedicated servers at launch. Instead, players will host their own games with help of Unity Relay service. This means no IP sharing or messing around with NAT configurations. You can join private games with a code or play in public games.
I want to include public games in the release, but if it comes down to a choice between delaying multiplayer for another week or releasing it without, I'll go for the latter and add it in later.
Just a heads up, our "minimal" multiplayer won't fully support events. You can play them, but you won't be competing against each other in-game, and you can restart your own run anytime.
Speaking of events, I're curious what you think! Do you like them? Are they a good fit for our freeride game, or should I try looking other kind of objectives? Let me know!
