Hi everyone!

For the past few months, I hinted at the fact that I was going to start making videos. While I do not exclude the possibility of doing tutorials in the future, right now I prefer to focus on short documentaries and video essays. I feel they can be more creative, and probably easier to stand out among the thousands of video tutorials that are already out there.

My first proper video will premiere tonight at 7pm BST, and it will be a journey back in time to discover the AI of "Creatures". Released in 1996, the game has inspired an entire generation of future game developers and scientists. Myself included.

A lot of knowledge about how "Creatures" work has been lost. Rediscovering it was a lot of work (I even had to write a couple of Python scripts to extract the sprites from the games!) but I think it was all worth it. This is obviously inspired by the amazing work of Tommy Thompson (AI and Games) and Mark Brown (Game Maker's Toolkit). If you follow their work, you will probably see where I draw some of my inspiration.

And if you stay until the end, you will likely see your name scrolling in the credit section! As always, if you prefer your name NOT to appear in future videos or tutorials, you can use this questionnaire form.

I also want to reassure you that tutorials will still be released! I have been dealing with exams at the College where I work, so that has slowed the schedule a bit!

I hope to see you there later tonight in the chat for the video premiere. Oh, and it's also my birthday! ๐ŸŽ‰

Ps. I am already working on the NEXT video, which will be dedicated to Conway's Game of Life!
