HBO reveals new series and seasons in trailer: The Sexiest and Steamiest Shows to Watch For (Patreon)

HBO has dropped a trailer showcasing its 2025 TV lineup, and I’m zeroing in on the series with the most potential for sex and nudity. Here’s the rundown:

Task: This new limited drama series from Brad Ingelsby ("Mare of Easttown") is set in the gritty Philadelphia suburbs. Mark Ruffalo stars as Tom, an FBI agent heading a task force to take down a string of drug-house robberies masterminded by a seemingly ordinary family man, played by Tom Pelphrey. The cast is stacked with talent like Emilia Jones, Thuso Mbedu, and Raúl Castillo. While plot details are still under wraps, it’s shaping up to be a tense crime saga. No official word on sex or nudity yet, but the raw intensity and close-knit character dynamics could easily lead to some steamy or revealing moments. It’s slated for 2025, though an exact date remains TBD.Peacemaker Season 2: James Gunn’s DCU hit returns with John Cena as the chaotic Christopher Smith, aka Peacemaker. Following its wild Season 1 run as a "Suicide Squad" spinoff, Season 2 lands in August 2025, hot on the heels of Gunn’s "Superman" film in July, with tie-ins to that movie’s events. The trailer teases Peacemaker back with his crew and introduces Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., possibly a new foe. Season 1 delivered solid nudity and a memorable sex scene, and with Gunn now steering the DCU ship, expect Season 2 to lean even harder into adult content—more skin, more raunchy humor, more everything. Gunn’s directing three of the eight episodes, so his bold style is guaranteed.

The Last of Us Season 2: Adapting "The Last of Us Part II," this HBO juggernaut brings back Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. Premiering April 13, 2025, it dives into the fallout of Joel’s Firefly lie, set against the rugged backdrop of Jackson, Wyoming. The trailer hints at emotional stakes and fresh dangers, with returning faces like Gabriel Luna’s Tommy and newbies like Kaitlyn Dever as Abby and Isabela Merced as Dina. In the game, Abby’s sex scene with Owen famously showed her breasts—will Dever go there? Ellie and Dina’s relationship only implied sex in the source material, but HBO could spice it up with a full-on lesbian scene. Season 1 kept things tame, but Season 2 might push the boundaries. It’s a shorter run, paving the way for a bigger Season 3.

The Gilded Age Season 3: This lavish historical drama dives back into 1880s New York, where old-money snobs clash with brash new-money climbers. Season 3, hitting HBO in 2025 (exact date TBD), ups the ante after Season 2’s shake-ups: Bertha Russell (Carrie Coon) crushed the opera war, and Ada (Cynthia Nixon) now rules the Van Rhijn roost with her newfound fortune. The logline teases a topsy-turvy society where “change comes at a cost,” with divorce emerging as a key theme per HBO exec Francesca Orsi. That could spell trouble for Gladys Russell (Taissa Farmiga) and her suitors, while Marian Brook (Louisa Jacobson) and Larry Russell (Harry Richardson) heat up their romance. Season 1 had a few tasteful nude moments, but Season 2 dialed it back. After seeing Carrie Coon bare it all in "The White Lotus" Season 3, though, there’s hope she’ll shed those corsets for some Gilded Age skin this time around.

Untitled Rachel Sennott Project: Still officially untitled as of now (not a final title, just HBO dragging its feet), this comedy follows a tight-knit friend group reuniting after years apart, wrestling with how time and relationships have shifted their vibe. Rachel Sennott leads, and given her bold, boundary-pushing comedic chops, fans are buzzing about potential nudity or risqué scenes. Nothing’s confirmed, but the premise screams messy, intimate chaos that could easily get spicy. It’s locked for 2025—title reveal pending.
