The Hunting Wives starring Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman Trailer was released (Watch Here), it teased some sexy moments, and lesbian scenes.

The series is made by Starz but Netflix will stream it all eight episodes.

The Plot

Sophie O’Neill (Brittany Snow), a 36-year-old lifestyle editor, moves from Chicago to the quiet town of Mapleton, Texas, with her husband Graham and their young son Jack. Seeking a simpler life, she quickly finds herself bored and emotionally unsatisfied. That changes when she becomes infatuated with Margot Banks (Malin Akerman), a glamorous and confident local socialite.

Sophie is drawn into Margot’s elite friend group, a clique of wealthy women who call themselves “The Hunting Wives.” Their get-togethers involve martinis, skeet shooting, and a lot of wild behavior at Margot’s lake house. Sophie becomes obsessed with Margot, and things spiral into darker territory—culminating in a murder investigation after a teenage girl’s body is discovered. Now caught in a web of secrets, lies, and lust, Sophie must race to untangle the mystery before everything falls apart.

Spoilers & Sexy Scenes from the Novel

Sophie first sees Margot at a gala and is immediately attracted to her. She can’t stop thinking about Margot’s curves, flawless skin, and irresistible presence.

There’s an early sex scene between Sophie and her husband Graham, but it’s fairly tame—no nudity or detailed descriptions.

Things heat up once Sophie joins the Hunting Wives. The group—Margot, Callie, Jill, and Tina—often drinks heavily at the lake house and gets flirtatious. In one gathering, they all jump into the lake in their underwear. Sophie notices Margot’s topless body and Callie’s curves, feeling aroused by the sight. The group encourages her to loosen up, and she does.

Eventually, Sophie and Margot share a private moment during a nighttime outing. The group had been sneaking into a park to flirt with younger men—especially Jamie, a teenage boy who becomes central to the murder plot. One night, the others leave early, and Sophie and Margot are alone.

That’s when things erupt. Margot initiates a passionate kiss. They begin touching each other intimately—Margot lifts Sophie’s shirt and exposes her breasts. But just as things intensify, they’re interrupted by a sudden noise.

Later, Margot invites Sophie to the lake house—alone. This is the most explicit sex scene in the book.

It starts with wine and small talk, but Margot quickly takes the lead, pulling Sophie onto the couch. They fully undress—Sophie describes Margot’s naked body in detail, including her “breasts” and “thighs.” The sex scene is vivid: lots of kissing, touching, oral sex, and pleasure. Sophie feels waves of ecstasy as Margot explores her body. She briefly thinks of her husband and the guilt—but the passion overwhelms her. They grab each other’s breasts, moan in each other’s ears, and give in to the moment completely.

After that night, the sexual tension simmers down. The novel shifts more toward mystery and drama. Margot is later seen masturbating while remembering her night with Sophie. There’s also a scene where Margot and Jamie go skinny dipping at night while Sophie secretly watches.

Eventually, Sophie finds out Margot also had a sexual relationship with Callie. After their own affair, Sophie and Margot grow distant. Sophie begins spying on Margot and eventually discovers the truth—Margot and Callie framed her for Abby’s murder to hide the fact that Margot shot Abby out of jealousy over Jamie.

Sophie clears her name, but the Hunting Wives fall apart. The story ends with suspense, not sex.

Sex & Nudity Summary

The book offers a decent amount of erotic content early on—especially the passionate scenes between Sophie and Margot. If Starz stays faithful to the novel (or goes even further), this could be one of the sexiest thrillers on TV. And let’s be honest—it’s an eight-episode series. The Trailer teased some scenes which are similar to the novel, so maybe it is an proper adaption, in that case we will see some really good lesbian scenes.
