I think HoTD does a great job of making characters less black and white and more grey. But I do have an appreciation for characters like Joffrey in GoT who aren’t grey. I love a good villain. And I feel like they don’t always have to make you feel like they’re misunderstood. Some people are just evil.

I can't believe you guys are planning on skipping parts of some of the best television ever created because some people have ghosted you into thinking some scene where a GOT historical record is being talked about that you have ZERO context about is a spoiler, oh and by the way that you ALREADY KNOW how it's going to end since you are already watching GOT. It is mindblowing to me that you would do this to yourselves and your own experience watching the show. G.R.R. Martin WROTE the story THAT way for FRICKS sake - GOT first, HOTD second... so how have random people on the internet managed to convince you they know better than the author himself?

Dude it’s like 45 seconds of dialogue that isn’t important to the plot of GoT at all. And it’s a massive spoiler. It goes without saying that all the characters in HoTD die at some point. But when they die, how they die, who they die to is something most people don’t want to know until it’s revealed on screen.

Ok I’ll try this. Trailers show 1-2 seconds of each scene and they show like 50 scenes in a trailer. They are not going to remember what scenes to comment on unless they comment on it in the moment.

They don't already know what the spoiler is. As someone who has only watched the shows, I may know that the Targaryens lead to their own demise, but I don't know the outcome of House of the Dragon aside from a couple of spoilers I have seen from those who have read the books. Also, the release order does not dictate how people should watch the show. The Star Wars prequels came out after the original trilogy but you are free to watch the movies chronologically and it will tell the same story, especially if you already know that Anakin is Darth Vader, which 99.9% of the world does.

Exactly, it is BITS of dialogue. It is talked about briefly in passing without any context. Also, some of those scenes are important descriptive character moments for some character relationships. On the other hand, did you not also learn from past experience that we as the audience cannot trust the historical record since it isnt usually accurate to the events that actually transpired as is evident in our own reality? Usually important details are changed, modified etc to fit the narrative of whoever is the acting historian of the people in power at the time. I guess, people still think they know better how to tell the author's story than he himself has intended.

Yes they are going to talk to each other because they are watching it together as a group which is the whole point. No one is going to keep quiet until the end. They would just talk about whatever happened at the end because of recency bias and not the whole trailer. This comment was for you.

Yea I dont fully understand it either, GoT came out first and was meant to be watched before HotD. Its like watching JJK's Gojo and Geto past arc. You dont skip season 1 first, because youd be aware of the outcome. Everyone goes into HotD knowing exactly what they say and what happens in GoT.

Ive seen some dumb opinions, some dumb comments. Some mean comments. But this might be the worst take in studio gek comment history lol... What do you think theyll miss by skipping those 45 seconds. What do they desperately need to see? Joffrey likes Targyran history? Thats what youre making a fuss about? Yes GRRM had characters retell history thus spoiling the dance of dragons. Thats irrelevant under the new context of the Dance becoming its own full fledged story with arcs and drama. Theres legit no narrative or objective reason to endure the spoiler for the sake of author integrity.

I just really had to laugh. I can still remember how at the beginning of the HotD journey you (except for McKay and Jack) weren't really interested in the Lannisters, and now: "LANNISTER🔥🦁". That's the advantage if you watch GoT before HotD, you know the other houses and care more about them

We already know Joffrey is a psychopath; getting the end of hotd spoiled won't change our thoughts on that. LMAOO wdym it literally describes the end of HOTD, its a historical fact therefore it does happen, even if Joffrey is the one saying it, other sources confirm this is how it goes down including the lore videos. Imagine yapping so much ab 45 seconds of a scene with such a distasteful character, that had no relevance to the plot AT ALL at that point.
