Hate to put this comment in an unrelated vid but it's been ten days since the last Code Geass drop. You guys said it would be a weekly show and it's only ever dropped within a week once. Will this become consistent anytime soon?

maw

Need the last lotr movie tonight🐌

Brett

All I'll say is Team Black better get their shit together. Hiding away in dragon stone instead of acting sooner is setting them back in a major way. Rhaenyra has repeatedly shown that she is not fit to win this war *SO FAR*. She doesn't take her councel's advice, she runs away multiple times, pushes her stongest military ally away (Daemon), refuses to make a decisive decision, and now is becoming to predictable. I get why she has not acted sooner.... BUT the day they crowned Aegon she should have acted. Waiting around while the Greens are doubling in strength was not smart at all.

hollow soul

Damn, quite the episode.

Yhwach

Sunfyre is not dead.

Lydia

that was a horrifying watch. i never want to see dragons fight again 🥲

LawL

I have no idea how it is this hard to understand what I am saying so let's just rewrite the initial comment. Team Black blunders hard by sending Meleys alone, full stop. Better to send out all the dragons or none at all. Why? Let's look at probable outcomes and what people (like the guy replying below) seem to think are reasonable parameters. If you send Meleys alone she apparently stands a "fair chance" of killing Vhagar. Anyone with a basic understanding of game theory, force concentration, basic probability, so many totally unrelated things from gaming, military history/strategy, or even simple math, would tell you there's a really obvious option here in light of that already suspect claim: stack your odds and just remove the coin flip altogether. Why leave open the possibility of Meleys losing and Team Black losing both their largest, most experienced dragon, and Rhaenys to boot? On a coin flip of all things, when you have the ability to stack the odds? Makes no sense. Well, the counter argument seems to be that Team Black ALSO needs to protect Dragon Stone. Sure, let's run with that assumption. You've now sent Meleys, your most capable dragon, on a solo mission to Rook's Rest. We are still assuming she is totally adequate to 1v1 Vhagar if he happens to show up, but we shouldn't expect it either. So what should we expect? Well, Dragon Stone (a castle) is apparently more valuable than dragons, so much so that it needs its own dragons to defend it. And you also still have your Queen, Rhaenyra, left on Dragon Stone too. So if Vhagar doesn't show up to Rook's Rest but is sitting at King's Landing, he is also able to react to a reported sighting of Meleys at Rook's Rest and take the opportunity to jump at Dragon Stone. What can Dragon Stone do about it? Well, either you wait for Vhagar to show up, at which point you send a raven to Rook's Rest and recall Meleys, or you have the remaining dragons at Dragon Stone fight Vhagar off themselves. You have Syrax, Moondancer, and Vermax to do that with. Please, are you really telling me Syrax and two younger dragons are supposed to be the ones to contend with Vhagar? If you really believe Dragon Stone needs protecting, and Rhaenyra needs even more protecting, sending Meleys is the LAST thing you want to do while Caraxes is absent. You'd be better off sending Baela and Moondancer out again if protecting Dragon Stone and Rhaenyra were your main priorities. There is no world in which you can simultaneously believe Meleys is the strongest asset Team Black has on hand at the time, perhaps even good enough to be a reasonable coin flip against Vhagar, and also believe that sending her solo away to Rook's Rest is a good idea when Vhagar could show up at Dragon Stone to destroy both the seat of Rhaenyra's court and also possibly kill her too. We're also talking about a world in which war is not something crazy and new, and oh look at that, human beings in the real world have been figuring out the perils of fighting dispersed, and the advantages of fighting concentrated, for all of our real world history and its conflicts. Are you really going to try to explain why the dynasty which conquered Westeros, that has a long history of successfully waging war by applying living embodiments of force concentration, also somehow didn't manage to figure out how to implement that in any practical sense after Aegon I dies? C'mon man, real human beings who think for themselves and can read words on pieces of paper can figure this shit out easily, they have been in our world for thousands of years. The ones that failed to died real fast and were examples of what NOT to do for everyone else. There's no reason why any kind of fictional setting should limit the critical thinking skills of people who are literally IN THE LORE OF THE STORY supposed to be smart and capable military minds and strategic thinkers. Make it make sense.

Amna

The fact that people constantly reduce Catelyn's character to just "hating jon" pisses me off🙄 and also two completely different situations

Arctic_stark

If people are keeping track, Daemon has been giving great advice from day 1. He told Rhaenyra to immediately surround Kings Landing with their dragons as soon as Aegon had usurped the throne. This was before the Greens had mustered an army, and they could have won then. He then asked Rhaenys to come kill Vhagar in a 2 vs. 1 situation, and she ignored him to her peril.

Arctic_stark

Also starting to think that the best part of the Aegon's conquest show they are making now will be how Dorne resists the Targaryens. We've seen dragons make easy work of most armies so it will be incredible to see the Cornish resistance and guerrilla warfare.

studiogek

Just fyi posts will start tomorrow with code geass GoT and kaiju and will continue each day following with everything else!

1999

Rhaenyra: “There’s something I need to tell you Jace” Brig: “that he’s a bastard” 💀💀💀

1999

Corlys is about to crash out next episode

Darkstar

Lol Cannon always confused about what "comely" means. Rather than inferring the meaning, here's a definition: "pleasant to look at; attractive"

WhynefineT

Naah the boys got grossed out from the new boys episode otherwise it'd be here already 💀

Chad-gon Targaryen

Rhaenys and Corlys are literal CUCK addicts I have never seen a show advocate as much for cuckoldry it’s INSANE

Shadow

FYI this is the full translated high Valyrian that young Rhae says in the dream to Daemon. Wish they would have put it in subtitles in the episode - dialogue slaps "It's been said that Targaryens are closer to gods than to men. In my eyes, you were a god. Daemon Targaryen. The Prince of the City. The Lord of Flea Bottom. I was an innocent. You exploited me and abandoned me. You sullied my name at court. You empowered my rivals. You tried to make my ruin. You put me on that throne. And you love me and you hate me for it. You created me, Daemon. Yet you are now set on destroying me.”

ManuZ

Where is The boy and the heron?

Chad-gon Targaryen

For all the accusations that GOT “gets off” on female nudity/exploitative sexual scenes, HOTD is 10x worse in the inverse. It is blatantly obvious how HOTD revels in depicting ALL its male characters as pathetic, shortsighted, and selfish compared to female characters. Not even mentioning the multiple exploitative nude scenes ONLY with Green characters, even those who are meant to be FOURTEEN YEARS OLD AT THE TIME. Just watch an episode of GOT and then an episode of HOTD back to back. It is blatantly obvious how sick and perverted HOTD’s showrunners are.

Chad-gon Targaryen

Poor Emma D’Arcy She keeps getting upstaged by Milly

neko

as much as I hate cole, it's interesting to see how much he has achieved until now from a nobody. If he had instead stayed with rhaenyra, things would have been so much more different.

Treize Cinquante

The war hasn’t even really started yet and Rhaenyra is fumbling the Velaryon’s lol generational fumbler

Thomas Strunk

bro not enough people crediting Tom Glynn-Carney, the guy that's played Aegon. Man absolutely killed it in the scenes after losing his kid. kills it here too. hats off to that dude.

Amna

I actually hated rhaenys being so well adjusted to the bastard issue because it just once again feels like the women arent allowed to be angry in capacities that aren’t related to them countering the violence or ambitions of men

a_daichi

When is Cole mentioned in GoT? Or is it only in the books?

Linnea anderson

loving how hard you guys go for team black

Max Hinton

man your reactions are just nice to watch. There’s no trying to be funny and make jokes during important moments. You’re Always appreciating the music, cgi, and production which is awesome!

NoneOfYourBeeswax

Aemond planned it all. He played both Criston Cole and his brother perfectly; he wound up his brother to the point where he knew he would take his dragon into the action, and he deliberately held back when Cole gave the signal for Vhagar to enter the fray. And he was putting his sword back in it's sheath when Cole found him with the king's bady. Probably administered the coup de grace. Cole is not only Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, he is the Hand of the king. So this debacle (he was even unconscious when Rook's Rest fell) will be placed firmly at his door. Everyone knew how rash Cole was - cf the Erik/Arryk assassination attempt - and no-one will know about Aegon sabotaging the supposed "plan" cooked up by Cole when he held Vhagar back after the signal was sounded, so Cole will be blamed for the death of the king - especially be Alicent.

Ash Hale

I believe this episode is on the same level as the red wedding. 🔥🔥 I watched this episode two times before watching you guys react. I got chills when you all praised Rhaenys. I cried, again. 💔 Rhaenys is my Queen! My favorite character in the book Fire and Blood. Highly recommend reading it or listen in group.

mari

In episode 1 Rhaenyra told her people that she wanted Aemond dead. But from Rhaenys' perspective, Vhagar was also the one who "killed" her daughter as well as her "gradson" and heir to driftmark. She had lots of reasons to go after them both.

Treize Cinquante

Funnily enough Aegon is the most experienced dragon rider of all the kids by a wide wide margin

Nat Brojeni

Cannon 😂 bury yourself in the ground! lol

Treize Cinquante

Rhaenys died doing what she loved…. Killing smallfolk

Yhwach

As per books: A body believed to be Rhaenys Targaryen was later found beside the carcass of her dragon, but it was so blackened that no one could be sure it was her. Beloved daughter of Lady Jocelyn Baratheon and Prince Aemon Targaryen, faithful wife to Lord Corlys Velaryon, mother and grandmother, the Queen Who Never Was lived fearlessly, and died amidst blood and fire. She was fifty-five years old.

Brett

Daemon becoming the three eyed raven???

Taesbil

Holy shit, I forgot how goated this episode is! Definitely one of the best ASOIAF universe episodes of all time. Dance of the dragons indeed.

Ty Tang

rewatching this for the new season and my god the rudy gobert slander came outta nowhere lmaoo
