The Boltons history with the Starks goes back 1000s of years and have always been "bad" vassals to the Starks. Many times the Boltons used to "wear the skins of their enemies" in battle, a lot of times wearing the skins of dead Starks. Theres a theory that because the Starks had the blood of Wargs (wearing the skin of animals), the Boltons, though not wargs, tried to replicate the powers of the starks by physically wearing their skins... ...They loved to "Bolt on" dead Stark skins :D

both dany and jon both suffer from boring protagonist syndrome, so it makes sense not being either of their biggest fans. but when you say you don’t like dany as much cuz she’s rude sometimes it’s kinda contradicting, y’all like daemon, and he’s the rudest man in the 7 kingdoms so a reason like that doesn’t really make sense to me, dany may come across as rude cuz she has a no bs personality and that’s perfectly understandable as she is a ruler, and if she doesn’t then people won’t take her seriously. i think the parallel of jon and dany when they both beheaded someone who refused their orders kinda shows how jon is sorta a ruler now too and so he has to have that non bs personality too.

In book 2, when Janos Slynt gets rewarded for his betrayal of Ned Stark, Sansa looks at him wishing for some hero to behead him. So in book/season 5 that being Jon is a nice little connection

Sansa never marries Ramsey in the books, its her childhood best friend Jeyne who the Boltons use as a fake Arya Stark that Ramsey marries. Sansa is still in the Vale in the books.

I know people hate on season 5, but personally, I still think it's a gem. There are some bars in this season, lol. One of my favorite scenes is between Cersei and Margaery when Margaery is just roasting Cersei. LOL- and I wouldn't consider that scene out of no where. Margaery has just solidified herself as the queen basically- she's married to the king AND they consummated it, unlike her and Joffrey which left her powerless. She technically has more power than Cersei right now- if even only by titles.

I get the sentiment about Dany! I still like her character, but she is a little bit on the nose. I have always thought it a bit odd that she is in a foreign land with centuries of history and customs, but treats it like Westeros. Still great though, has some of the best scenes in the entire show!

I'll just say that Jon is a bastard but he still has a lot of privilege. A bastard of Winterfell is still a very big deal in the North. Mormont picked out Jon for leadership and made him a steward which has a lot to do with who he is and the fact that he was brought up as another son of Ned.

Cannon is right. GRRM did not write Sansa getting married to Ramsay. The Boltons use a fake Arya (who is actually Sansa's childhood friend Jeyne Poole that was assumed to be dead) to solidify their claim to the north.

Dont blame GRRM for Sansa marrying Ramsay, thats just a show thing. By season 5, Martin had started distancing himself from the show runners and wasn't giving much input anymore. Ofcourse, he isnt completely innocent because I assume D&D had expected Martin to have written another book by this point lol.

I know I’m coming at this late and people have already left you enough comments on this subject. But I have to add my two cents. Having Sansa marry Ramsey was one of the very worst changes that the show runners made from the book material, Sansa’s storyline in the books is quite different. There is a storyline in the books about Ramsey getting married. But it is not to Sansa. I will admit that there are times that the show runners made some original decisions about the stories direction that worked out quite well. This is not one of them. And neither is the entire plot and storyline in Dorne, which is also quite different than the books. In the books the Dorne plot and storyline is a fan favorite. I highly recommend reading the books if you enjoy this show. They are so much richer!

I don't think you hate Dany, Carter. I agree with you that a lot of her writing is very on the nose - specifically, her constant assertion that she was 'born to rule'. I think Daenerys wants to rule too much. On the other hand, I think Jon understands that being a ruler is a burden, and it has to be a completely selfless thing. To genuinely want the best for the kingdom, to want to protect them all, no matter what. Which is why I root for him a little more. I'm not saying that Dany DOESN'T want any of those things, but the difference is she believes she has the RIGHT to rule. Dany has a number of great qualities, but selflessness is not one of them. In a way, she's just an orphan trying to connect with the family she never got to have. This great dynasty, the Targaryean name, the home they made, the land they ruled - all things that she's lost. She conflates all those things she yearns for with the throne. She hopes to regain all that the usurper Robert Baratheon has stolen from her by becoming a queen herself. But the truth is, they were not these just and righteous rulers; they were conquerors. They were not born to rule; they ruled, and they killed anyone who dissented. They were able to do that because they had dragons. It made them powerful. It made them terrible enemies to have. It made them hard to cross. They were not loved; they were feared. I think that is the fundamental difference.
