2handed Jamie and Bronn Vs Grey Worm and Sir Barriston

Treize Cinquante

Andal Culture>Valyrian Culture Faith/family vs. Incest/blood rituals

Treize Cinquante

It’s important to note the cultural context of when this show came out. The Book’s faith militant detest sodomy, but it isn’t their sole focus the way this episode portrayed it as. GOT S5 was made in 2014-2015 right as gay marriage was legalized in the US. So the showrunners knew which vein to tap to create the most controversy. That’s why the show introduces us to them on their LGBT Kristellnacht. Kind of an unfair depiction of the sparrows IMO

Becca

Rhaegar Targaryen was the mad kings first born son and heir, older brother to Daenerys and Viserys and was married to Elia

icynub

Omg the way I didn’t get no notification on this video makes me soooo mad but thanks for the upload ☺️☺️

Mitch

Baristons actor is probably the most die hard book fan out of the whole cast, so when he read in the script he was going to die, he was obviously upset since his character plays a big role in the books. He brought this up in a letter to Dan and Dave asking them to reconsider and they said word for word “that just made us want to kill his character even more” this is real quote from an interview that is on YouTube. It’s genuinely so pathetic that they act like man children thinking they are better writers than George Martin and killing a goated character out of spite. Instead he dies in a horribly filmed and edited fight scene to literal no name peasants with daggers who’ve prob never used a weapon in their life before. Disgusting stuff.

Sometimes the thought processes of the guys utterly confounds me... such as when I hear them blaming Stannis for his daughter's Greyscale. Guys, Stannis hasn't read the GoT script, how could he possibly know a trader's toy was infected? All over Westeros and Essos parents of high and low birth are giving their children simple toys to play with - to blame this one parent for this tragedy is just crazy!

CHIEF

Something I noticed this episode in particular I never heard a lot before, (Person asks another person simple question) Responder: "When I was a child... (Drawn out story used as exposition that mainly wastes time). I think it happens pretty often this season I wouldn't notice 1-2 times but geez.

NoneOfYourBeeswax

I'd accuse Jack of Spoilers if it weren't obvious that he doesn't remember a damn thing from watching the show! :D

Sozin

Jack no worries but please try to be mindful. You called some things before they happened again. For example you knew Jaime uses his hand to block but spoiled that right before it happened

And so the terrible writing begins. Ser barristan was a character brimming with so much potential and just all sound badass but till this point we hardly got to see him fight, which feels like such a tease considering all the amazing tales we've heard about how much of a seasoned fighter he is. And then for him to die in,if my memory serves me correctly, the second big fight we've seen him in. Not too mention just the crazy journey his character had to take to even get her and got him just to be killed off is such a spit in the face

Niffol

Brigg may come off as a goofball, but he locks the fuck in and predicts ALOT. Also Wrong Dub. Not just predictions, he picks up on subtle things.

danidelight

Ser Barristan Selmy did not deserve to die here like this. The way they wrote him out of the show was unexpected, and the actor himself had read the books and so he thought there was going to be much more coming for his role. Needless to say he was also very surprised and disappointed at how the character died. One of the many things D&D did that started to piss me off.

Ayomide Salami

Correction Jack, Rhaegar was the Mad King’s son and was the Crown Prince, so Daenerys and Viserys’ big brother.

Ana

I love Mace tyrell he's just happy to be there 😩😂😂

Ana

Their whole Melisandre and Jon scene reaction was hilarious 😂😂 Them: No Jon no. Stand on business. "You know nothing Jon Snow" Them: No wait come back 😂😂😂

Caraxes🐐DT

Praying to the lord of light that we get another episode tonight 🙏🏾🙌🏾

Ana

This is why you guys need to watch the lore videos. Atleast the first 2 it gives you all the tea that is relevant to season 1 of GoT. It's tells you why the Lannisters don't like the starks. And vice versa It tells you roberts rebellion and why it started. And why The north , the vale and storms end rebelled. And how the tullys came into the fold. The narration is so goated. I promise you will be so happy you watched. And if you're worried about Aegon's conquest trust me everything they say they have mentioned in the show. It's a pretty straightforward conquest. I honestly think it doesn't need a show. A movie or 2 will be cool for that

kyle

the 2nd best swordsman in westeros history taken down by a bunch of untrained sons of the harpy. truly an awful way to kill a goat. you don’t really see it until you rewatch the show, but the gradual decrease in quality is very noticeable (for me) this season every time I rewatch. S5 is in no way a bad season, but it definitely marks the beginning stages of D&D GoT - filled with incredible all time TV moments, but also extremely questionable writing

Ana

Can you guys please stop talking about how bad the show gets. Like we get it the same people comment everytime. But yet are still here. 🤔 They are still enjoying the show. Let them enjoy the show as it is. It's nothing we can do to change if. I understand complaints of storylines changing or characters being left out. That's cool to talk about. But to just call it trash or bad writing all the time is lame. I bet you all of you who constantly complained were still tuned in live every Sunday or kept watching after season 5. Honestly the hate for the show didn't start til after it was over when a few people criticized it over the internet. I remember many of people losing their minds during season 8 and loved it. Just to come out 2 weeks later and down play the show because they read other's opinions. No mind for theirselves I have problems with it but it's still a great show. So let them watch how we all watched and enjoy it in peace. And Sean I know your stance already so you don't need to reply here ok. WE ALL GET IT

Ana

I enjoyed this episode. Sad about Barriston he was a goat fr. Shireen my precious baby. She needed that moment from Stannis. Not much else to say. Can't wait for the next reaction

Caleb

Ellia martell, oberyns sister, was married to prince rhaegar, who is daenerys brother, the mad kings som

Mitch

As much as I have issues with this season, the highlight is easily Bronn. Every scene he’s in is so good and he’s such a goated character in general.

Lexi Browning

After reading the books, Selmy dying in this episode is BY FAR the worst thing the showrunners decided to do. I won't spoil anything, but Selmy plays such a huge role in the books, and if the showrunners stayed true to George's writing, the rest of this series would make so much more sense. You can tell in George's writing that Selmy's not just meant to make it to the very end but needs to make it to the very end in order to push a lot of foundational plot points for a lot of major characters and their development. He's very much a catalyst character. He's probably THE catalyst character for George

Arctic_stark

Rhaegar is a POS and thats all there is to it, however good he was at singing or killing or whatever.

Anthony Rodriguez

you already in the 5th season and still confused who the mad king is? Aerys Targaryen is the name of Mad King. His sister wife was the Queen Rhaella Targaryen. They have 3 children. Rhaegar, Viserys and Daenerys Targaryen. Prince Rhaegar was their eldest son and the heir to the throne and he was married to Obery's sister Elya Martell. So Elya Martell is not the Queen because the Mad King wife Rhaella was still alive and she was the queen. During the rebellion, Prince Rheagar was killed by Robert Baratheon at the Battle of the Trident in Riverland and the Mad King was killed by Jamie during the sack of Kings Landing. During the sack of kings landing, the Mountain killed Prince Rheagar's wife Elya Martell (Oberyn's sister) and their children. Queen Rhaella Targaryen (who was still pregnant to Daenerys) and Prince VIserys escaped to dragonstone. At Dragonstone, Daenerys was born and Queen Rhaella died during childbirth.

BloodyBen

5 seasons in and not knowing who Aerys and Rhaegar are to each other is mind blowing (especially since 2 of them have seen this before). You guys paying attention to dialogue or just tryna see epic battles?

ssj4rit

Ok let me break the Targaryen reign down for you since it’s causing some confusion See more

Matt Haloostock

Barristan the Bold is still alive in the books. Too bad the showrunners decided to kill him off to add some drama in the show instead of giving us the actual Dorne plot line 😮‍💨

eiden

Whenever McKay starts laughing you know somethings about to go down

Ophelia

People talk about how bad the show gets but ONGGGG season 6 is one of my favorite seasons EVERRRRR like bffr also s7 has some CRAZY stuff in it they have so much to look forward to😭😭

Cam

Half of these comments are pissed that they’re not paying attention (ie rhaegar / mad king of it all) and the other half is pissed at Brig for paying attention, picking up on foreshadowing and guessing what happens. Ya’ll need to make up your mind 😑

Cam

Also btw for the fight scene at the end, the unsullied are getting “bodied” because they are an army trained to fight in an organized group, so danny having them patrol the city and act as individual bodyguards is not what they’re used to / how they are trained to fight.

Anthony Rodriguez

Jack: “So he (Rheagar) is the Mad King’s brother”… Really dude? Really? Bruh?

Casey Shaver

Brig bust the dawgs out for 10?

Has

idc what any of these comments say, season 6 is fucking goated, and I cannot wait till you guys react to it

Not today

Holy crap been a while, lets go!

Caraxes🐐DT

Can we get a update on thrones? at least what day yall uploading…I been looking constantly for 5 days now 🥴😑

Camille Makoa

thanks for the update guys! just wanted to share that the audio for the show itself is low for me. i have to put the volume sooo high. your voices sound ok though

Linn

Yeah it’s been lower since the beginning of this season I think…

jay

“get back! come here!” IS CRAZYYYY 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Shikhar Srivastava

Guys please sort this out for once and all. Almost every time the new episode for GOT drops on YouTube, it stays locked on Patreon for legacy uncut tier.(GOT 5X5 today). I have raised this concern numerous times but it seems that it will never get fixed. This is really frustrating. Please do something about it.

gabifelix🇧🇷

Hey guys, I think there was a mistake and episode 8 got released here instead of 5x5. I think they meant to release it at the correct time, but they put out the wrong episode.

Osvaldo

Dumbest death in the series

Blackeyedlily

In the books it is explained that grey scale in young children can be halted, and isn’t necessarily fatal. I don’t know if that was ever explained in the television show. But Shireen is an example of this. And I’m not sure if they actually understand what halts it in a child.

Blackeyedlily

One of the dumbest changes from the books IMO was the death of Ser Barristan. In the books, he continues to play an important role in Daenerys’ story. And the actor who played Ser Barristan was quite upset because he had read the books and was expecting to continue with Ser Barristan’s Meereen storyline.

Zipzzty

20:05 Cannon i would be like get back here 😂😂
