So Hugh is Saera's bastard son confirmed? Would explain Hugh being so ballsy. She's the daughter of J+A who misbehaved and ended up sailing to Lys and Volantis and becoming a famous brothel keeper. Baelon (Viserys and Daemons dad) would have been one of her brothers

Hugh is half Targaryen not 1/4. He's the cousin to Daemon and Viserys. He said that his mother told him he's no different to her brothers sons Viserys and Daemon. With that knowoledge he's confirmed as the bastard son of Saera Targaryen, sister of Baelon(father to Viserys and Daemon). Make sense given her life lol. And Ulf the rumored bastard son of Baelon. Making him D&V's half brother

36:45 LOL!! No, Jack. Hugh's mother was Princess Saera Targaryen, daughter of King Jaehaerys I. She was not a bastard. Saera is described as tempestuous, demanding, and disobedient. After a scandal and years of fights with King Jaehaerys and Queen Alysanne, Saera crossed the Narrow Sea and starting working in a pleasure house in Lys. She was known to have at least 3 bastard sons.

The guy that gets roasted is labeled as 'dragonseed' in the subtitles because that is what they call bastards of Targaryens, as they are born from dragons(Targ) seed. This event where a bunch of dragonseeds try to bond with the unclaimed dragons and most get eaten is called 'the sowing of the seeds' because just like with real sowing only a few seeds sprout and the rest don't come to anything.

King Jahaerys ( Viserys Predecessor ) had 13 children. 7 daughters and 6 sons. Saera ( Hugh’s mom ) was his wild-child. After embarrassing her father multiple times at court she was sent to oldtown to be a silent sister. After a year at oldtown however, she crossed the narrow sea to work at a pleasure house in Lys. So both Hugh and Ulf are half targaryen and both Jahaerys’ grandchildren.

To me it seemed like Rhaenyra def brought everyone before the dragons and left them there on purpose. she found her two dragonriders while also rounding up all the bastards that could challenge her kids for the throne and got rid of them. She looked super guilty when she left them down there and her men literally forced them to stay in the dragonfire. Sad but smart.

Btw Hugh's mother, Saera Targaryen was sister to Baelon (Viserys and Daemon's dad). So she was the daughter of Jahaerys and because she was very promiscuous he basically disowned her. She moved to Lys and started her own brothel.

Now the Blacks have Syrax, Caraxes, Vermax, Moondancer, Vermithor, Silverwing, Seasmoke and potentially Rhaena’s dragon. So 8 dragons to the greens’ 4 dragons including Daeron’s dragon.

I still don't really understand Jace in this ep... I can't be the only one can I? He made the suggestion of finding other riders for dragons, and is upset when this happens only because they might be low born? And his reasoning is, they may challenge his claim. But, if other random nobles have dragons couldn't they also challenge his claim? Or is he just chuffed because its like 'oh if anyone can get a dragon then we aren't special' Idk I do get it to an extent but I'm still not sure why he was SO upset by this development lol

IMO the best episode yet. Lord Oscar Tully is my new favorite character. Don't hate me but I think it was smart to get all Targaryen bastards at the same time, my Queen knows what she's doing. Gets her riders and destroys most bastards.

Okay you five, we gotta put this to rest. Aegon doesn’t make his bastards fight in the fighting pits!!! Aegon just FREQUENTS there often and has hooked up with many women there, and from what we can see there’s at least one bastard that’s there probably because his mom works there. The child was VERY young, younger than the kids fighting by quite a bit. You guys just watched that scene and took it as Aegon making his bastards fight in the fighting pits. Not true!! Love your reactions I just have heard you guys say that about Aegon before and I would like to not here it again

Team black is getting way too many Ws this episode. House Tully and the riverland lords are on their side and they have an additional of 3 dragons, Seasmoke, Silverwing and Vermithor. I fear for them next week in the season finale. Not me getting the Lucerys ptsd :(

Jace and the dragon keepers are right about being skeptical of inviting dragon riders to claim dragons. They are walking nuclear weapons and not to be taken lightly. According to Mysaria's logic, Rhaenyra's own half brothers who are legal Targaryens have gone against her but a common shipwright has bent the knee to her. Hence, invite the smallfolk to claim dragons. Another way of looking at it is - if your own half siblings cannot be loyal to you, what is the possibility that these random characters will and should be loyal to you? Especially if their dragons are bigger than Syrax, Vermax, Moondancer who are relatively smaller dragons? There is really no way to control someone once they have claimed a dragon, and besides they are bastards with no land or titles. I would be very wary giving away the largest dragons to people who have every incentive to leave you!

Larys undermining Aemond because he got called a 'toad' in the last episode and favouring Aegon is an interesting development. It's interesting how he told Lord Jasper not to tell Aemond about Seasmoke finding a rider. I'm excited for the finale to see how it all pans out.
