Carters' cooking up some chef boyardee....

Comments

Melizé

RAHHHHHHH

Alan

1st baby

Brady

I just finished rewatching Severance, you guys neeed to watch it before Season 2 drops in January 🙏

Shadow

Y’all so clutch. Just got fried😂

Tiga

Been waiting for this wild episode 😭

AlucardIV

Wow, I can neither confirm nor deny that what Carter cooked is edible but he's definitely chefing something...

Shadow

Hodor!!!!

Amna 🍉

They're really going off the walls with their predictions💀💀

Niffol

All the Noble houses could have the argument of being "Kings" Before the Targs most of the noble houses were still around back in the day and ruled as kings.

JC

Lyanna being kidnapped is the main reason the Targaryens were killed and replaced by the Baratheons. That started the hole Roberts Rebellion, also with the murder of Ned’s father and older brother! Robert’s rebellion is one of the most interesting things about the song of ice and fire. Nice reaction!

Alan

Jack saying “She has haki” got me 😂

AlucardIV

The Starks have never been kings?!?! Torrhen Stark the King who Knelt to Aegon the Conqueror and all his ancestors aside, have you already forsaken Robb Stark, the King in the North, the White Wolf so quickly??

Shadow

The Hodor reveal and the Shireen burning are 2 of the 3 things that are yet but will happen in the books that grrm told d&d before season 4ish and their kinda split. Doesn’t mean they will play out the same tho There’s also like 2 more that he revealed or confirmed for them season 1 time that are yet to happen in books(or show for yall)

Caraxes🐐DT

Well to be fair the Baratheons also have Targaryen blood in them…the first Baratheon was Aegon the conqueror bastard brother and Robert and stannis grandma was a Targaryen which is one of the reasons Robert was accepted sitting on the throne so they always had kings blood. Also cannon yes the 3 eyed raven is a Targaryen bastard we seen him in daemon vision as well tho he’s younger there.

Joey Brock

the gaslighting in here is crazy y'all

David J

Wasn’t expecting this today lol thanks

Super Novice

Hold the door :’(. Also “what’s his bucket.” Was such a funny sentence

Safar Alzhrani

The starks have been kings since the targaryan were no more then Peasant who were fond of their sheep 💀

Ryan Ry

Here we go. Geks still making “predictions”. What’s the point of even watching the show?

JC

the scene of Arya watching the play reminds me a lot of the HOTD book and series, no matter your intentions or thoughts, when the story is written you will be remembered the way it was told. Ned will always be remembered in history as a traitor 🥺

Jenny D

The Starks were kings for hundreds of years before Torrhen Stark bent the knee to Aegon the Conquer

AlucardIV
>>147005195

Yes, you’re right. He was the Young Wolf. I confused him with the Witcher lol.

Shadow

Yea fr brig who tf is that guy

mk

"I feel the winds of winter as they lick across the land." TWOW 2024 confirmed

Meri Gjelaj

I do NOT remember Hodors death being so sad😀

Icchi

In the words of the great Jayson Tatum… WE DID ITTTTTT!! Can’t believe we’re finally here 😭

Ash Hale

Oh, my sweet summer boys. The night is dark and full of terrors. Varys and the red priestess is one of my favorite scenes. Can't wait for season seven! I was almost out of breath laughing to your reactions to the boy and his penis. 😂😂 Hodor is on of the most painful moments to watch. 💔

Amna 🍉

Please watch history and lore, it will tell you what the children went through

Jessica

The hodor reveal is fricking brilliant and the fact that george came up with this early on is crazy

Jessica

We all need tissues rewatching this 💔 probably one of the saddest got moments

Leo

Jon is ned stark son. The main reason catelyn hated jon is because he looked more like Ned than any of the true born sons she bore him.

Amna 🍉

The three eyed raven is Brynden Rivers, a targaryen bastard. We will actually get to see him next year in Dunk and Egg

Amna 🍉

Ya'll NOT THE SPOILERS IN THE COMMENTS

Shadow
>>147009859

I think season 2 cuz he appears in the second novel but he’s still relevant in that time so he could show up. No casting yet tho

Jessica

Can we talk about the lighting and colors this season because 🤌🏼

Shadow

Dany be looking so good omg

Jessica
>>147010082

For real the scene with her and Jorah was so visually stunning 😍

Seth Aasland

work was dragging me down today and this made my day so much better 😭

Amna 🍉
>>147009859

Yea idk how many seasons they're planning, I don't even think is going to be 10 episodes a season

Shadow
>>147010082

Yuppp your comment about lighting was spot on for that shot. Don’t know if the scene could look better

Shadow
>>147009859

It’s 6 episodes this first one. The novels are pretty short - 3 make up the book. So 3 seasons props. But George said he’s got two more of those books coming out so like 6 more parts... after he finishes winds… Could be a quite a few seasons if that happens. And he’s working pretty closely with them. Like he actually wrote some for this show

chloe

Hodor's death still brings tears in my eyes

tp

Poor Hodor 😢😢😢

Amna 🍉
>>147009859

I haven't read the short novels yet nor Fire & Blood. I need to catch up 😭

tp

Was that fucking Owen Hunt being sacrificed?!

Shadow
>>147009859

Read dunk and egg plzzz😂. It’s sooo good. Literally 2 of the best grrm characters. And fire and blood is quick af. U can just pick sections to read cuz it’s just a history book pretty much. Targ lore/Dany background goes crazy

Leo

Guys don't skip intro. It gives goosebumps man and takes us into this world immediately.

Mr. Buddy Guy

Sansa being a big dodo head for not telling Jon about the army they could have from the guy who owes her big time lol

Mitch
>>147010040

It’s the best looking season visually, even tho the next two have higher budgets, for some reason the camera work and lighting peaked here

Ana
>>147004840

Yes Roberts Rebellion is the one we need the show of

Ana

Lore videos please

Chris Sanford

Carter might've actually cooked with that theory at the beginning... OR he just really underestimates the absolute drop in writing this show is soon to have.

Chris Sanford

Jon being Rhaegar's son would not make him Dany's brother. Dany is the daughter of the Mad King, as was Rhaegar. Wereany of that true Jon would be her nephew.

Meri Gjelaj

Why do you guys have to comment on Carters theory. It’s literally spoiling NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY.

Darrell Henry

You guys need to at least watch season 1 history and lore.

poe

Carter couldn't be more wrong. He's cooking more like Gusteau after the critic.

Matthew

RIP Hodor 😢 A side character that I think everyone liked. Every time I see that scene it gets me, especially when the Stark theme starts playing 😭

k
>>147012969

yeah he owes her but why would she trust him after he tricked her into marrying a psychopath? she knows how deceptive baelish can be so shes hesitant to rely on him again

Ana
>>147014199

Because they always gotta say something no matter what 🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

S

Men vastly outnumbered the Children of the Forest

Brig Andrus

Bro rip Hodor but good riddance to the children 😂😭

JJ

never call Brandyn Rivers a bum in your life he's the reason the Targaryens lived as long as they did

Monalisa

With Bran’s wolf Summer gone, winter has finally come

Mitch

I really can’t underestimate how much I hate what they did with littlefinger and even Sansa acting so dumb here

Mr. Buddy Guy
>>147012969

That’s a fair call I’ll admit, and I’ve watched before so hindsight 20/20. She doesn’t have to trust little finger but she can trust the knights of the vale. She’s met and knows Lord Royce who is with the vale.

Thicc Thanos

This episode is why I always hold the door

EtherealLlama

“The 3-eyed raven is a Targaryen” “the bird?!”

Anna

So mad about Summer tbh

Sean Johnson
>>147009409

Giants and the children used to happily frolic in the bushes before the first men came along and ruined it all

Mitch

Euron is such a bum man. Yara and Theon come in with the most inspirational and real arguments to why she should rule yet Euron comes in makes 5 straight cock jokes and admits to TREASON yet no one bats an eye and people actually support him. Such dogshit man I really despise him.

Maria
>>147012969

& would Jon even want to trust littlefinger? I got the idea that Jon & Sansa basically told each other everything that happened to them. But I don’t know if he understands littlefinger’s creepy attachment to Sansa the way she does.

Sean Johnson

Love when brig thinks the bird is a Targaryen hahaha

Daenerys Targaryen

Melisandre tells Stannis he has king's blood because Robert, Stannis, and Renly's paternal grandmother was Rhaelle Targaryen, so they are all one quarter Targaryens.

Ryan Ry
>>147014199

Oh please. The Geks knows what they’re doing. They already know the all spoilers and they’re just pretending to “figure it out” while filming and lets us go at it in the comments. And then they go yell at everyone for “ruining it” in the comments.

Jaqen H'ghar

To answer Carter, Meera and Hodor saw their breath when talking so they knew that the white walkers had arrived. Winter is coming.

ssj4rit

I love how this season has more cock jokes, it really brings out the depth and nuance of the characters and world. The show wouldn’t be the same without them. When Euron said “I’m gonna gallivant right over and give it to Daenerys Targaryen along with my big cock” I had to wipe my tears before framing the quote on my wall, thank you writers for this PEAK scene with many motivational and memorable quotes.

Jenny D

It always sucks when the guy who's supposed to teach you ends up dying.

clémence

The Iron Borns are mess lmao. They cheer for Yara to be queen then 5 minutes later they cheer for Euron to kill Yara 💀

Paul Durbin
>>147019601

Couldn't agree more. It's like, somehow they didn't figure out that that's what was missing this whole time.

Caraxes🐐DT
>>147015765

He hates them because it’s too much magic for him I think and seems like he thinks it’s outta nowhere tho they been around long af lol

Mitch

Hodor reveal honestly might be top 3 moments in the series for me it’s such peak, and i still get emotional even after watching that scene countless times. 10/10

Paul Durbin
>>147009409

But seriously, H&L will give you more appreciation for the series, a much richer understanding of the world, and the events that took place leading to season 1.

LeFlaneur

It’s a pretty common trope in fantasy to have the less advanced but larger human population, Jen No Side other sapient species (elves for example) that just don’t have as many people

Nepenthe

Hodor's death was genuinely the saddest moment in the show for me. I think it's because he represents that loveable childlike innocence. Also to your guys' points, a lot of the small details are going to continue not making any sense—White Walker entourage somehow arriving after the zombies when they walked through the front door, zombies being terrified of a tiny perimeter of fire but running through fire marked ground in the tunnel, White Walker crew somehow not just instantly catching up to Brann when he's on a sled being pulled by a person in deep snow while they have horses, etc. At this point I just go with the flow and enjoy the spectacle. I do love referring to some of these scenes as CW, going to use that with the boys from now on lol.

ShadowCat

Hodors death and story breaks my heart. It's why I have a wooden door jam with Hodors name printed on it 😂 so I never forget.

Caraxes🐐DT
>>147015765

Idk I think they look ok for what they pose to look like lol brig always got a problem with too much magic tho it seem just like the shadow

Tim Carpenter

I haven't watched the reaction yet, but tell me why I think Brigg wrote the caption....

bateman bookworm

You are right about jon, he is more like ned than robb ever was. Robb is more like his uncle brandon, and i believe that played a role in cat’s resentment of jon

Marcusinmilw

F—king Bran!!! Dumb ass!!! Of all the heartbreaking deaths in this show, Hodor’s is the saddest by far for me. Dammit, Brandon!!!

The night is Dank and full of Memers
>>147019601

Book Euron - Is about to sacrifice a priest from every religion in the world, including his brother and a woman pregnant with his own baby, into a whirlpool on the eve of the greatest storm in history, where he claims he is about to unleash a Cthulu monster, that the world will be broken and remade. Show Euron "Finger in tha bum"

Nicole

Fuck every time I see this I cry so hard RIP sweet Giant, Hodor is the goat. 😭😭😭😭😭😭

emma.bean

man.. the first time i watched this episode that hodor reveal/death shoooooook me. by the end i was simultaneously mindblown and sobbing. some tragically brilliant long-game writing from george here.

Kamina 1

Season only get's better. Now I'm curious where you're all gonna rank this one on your favorites when you finish it.

Enma

The Three-Eyed Raven had to have knowingly allowed Bran to be marked to ensure that the timeline would unfold as it did, otherwise how could Wylis become Hodor. I'm certain that his choices are driven by a sense of inevitability and by letting Bran be marked, he assures that Bran would take on the mantle of the Three-Eyed Raven and fulfill his role in the grand scheme of things, which is all probably predetermined for all we know. Sort of like how timelines work in the Spider-Verse, making this Bran's canon event.

lola
>>147020097

I think all of the people that loved Yara went with her on the boats. I doubt they were ALL cheering for her death.

lola

loved the reaction as always… I actually purposefully have not watched the Hodor death scene ever since watching it for the first time years ago because it was gut wrenching… i was already starting to cry when they killed summer but I SOBBED when hodor died. I couldn’t believe the reveal of his name, and his life’s purpose of dying to protect Bran. RIP TO THE REALEST ONE!

lola
>>147014199

You’re assuming that’s the case. A lot of us had theories back in the day that did or did not turn out to be true. Literally how hard is it to just shut up????

Bobby Johnson

Shoutout to the fact that the actor that plays Hodor is a DJ irl

jrnoodles

I still tear up every time I see Hodor die. We didn't deserve you Hodor :(

Nomaan

Melisandre about Jon: “He’s the Prince that was Promised”. Kinvara about Daenerys: “Daenerys Stormborn is the One who was Promised. From the fire she was reborn to remake the world”.

Londra H

No matter how many time I watch it, the Hodor scene makes me so emotional 😭

Kite

Cannon: "The Three-Eyed Raven is Targaryen" Brigg: "The bird?"

emma.bean

Idk how ppl are mad about sansa not accepting littlefingers help or telling jon about it.... after the pain and suffering he caused her??? i think its totally understandable for her to not want his help. f*ck that guy.. especially when he told her the blackfish reformed the tully army. thats obviously the better choice for them. also to think jon is going to accept help from littlefinger, if she did tell him in that moment, after learning what he did to sansa??? is wild... this season there are SO many parallels and mirroring moments between jon & ned. he is SO ned coded. is there any situation where ned would have accepted help from the lannister army after they pushed bran out the window? no. even if he was desperate i dont think there is a world where that would have ever happened. its the stark pride and honor and im not saying its the smartest move but it just makes perfect sense for the characters here imo.

Amna 🍉
>>147035405

people, including the writers, really hate the feminine characters in this show. They don't bother to even understand their pov

Amna 🍉

No one: Absolutely no one: Brigg: fuck dem children

Eliana Ayala

I cried sobbed when Hodor died.

Nanashi
>>147007378

I'm hesitant to believe they're being deceptive but I do agree it would be almost impossible for them not to get spoiled on major stuff when reading Discord and Patreon comments

Nanashi
>>147007378

They also constantly say they watch some tik tok content of stuff they watch and oh boy have I gotten spoiled from that in so mamy shows

Maria

🕯️🌿🪡Sansa warriors, it’s time to assemble ❤️✨⚔️

Dakota

the reveal of the origin of Hodor's name and that scene just crushes me every time, man. It's so sad

Meri Gjelaj
>>147030517

Same, I’ve avoided that scene like the plague…despite seeing the show several times

Kare
>>147021619

Because if Jon knew it was from little finger he would never accept it… think about how Jon is so similar to ned stark, he would’ve never accepted any help from his enemies or those who wronged him or his family. This way Sansa can still potentially get the army without linking it to LF

Kare

Sansa did not tell Jon about little finger because Jon would’ve never ever accepted his help (nor even believe him) considering all the shit he’s done. She’s playing it smart by telling him she heard it from someone else because that way she can still potentially get their support without tying it to little finger. (+ it’s normal for her to want to make sure that little finger is telling the truth and that he’d actually do what he says he will before even mentioning it to the others considering all the lies he’s told her since day 1, why tf would she trust anything this man even says lmao)

JAY
>>147035348

i was going to type this same exact comment 😂 so good.

Harper

McKay: This is so sad 😃😃😃😃

JAY

HODOR💔 no matter how many times i watch i never fail to weep.

Keiji

Jojen isn’t a warg

TheSauceGuy
>>147035405

It's understandable, but it's also stupid as you said. Along with being stupid, it makes them both seem childish/petty to refuse support. Hate Littlefinger all you want, but an army is an army. She and Jon should accept all the help they can get now; Baelish can be dealt with later.

JAY
>>147021619

sansa is my girl. i love her and support her.

emma.bean
>>147035405

idk.. if i am in their position and this man gave me to some ppl that held me captive, r**** me and tortured me, or if he did that to my younger sister im gonna try literally anything else.

Taylor

If the three eyed raven had not let Bran get caught by the Ice King, then he would not have found them at the god's wood tree, and if the were never found at the god's wood tree, then Hodor would never have become Hodor, and if Hodor had never become Hodor, he would not have been able to be the man he needed to be to be Bran's legs and save him in the end. It's just as the Lady in Red said. Everything happened in the past so that they could be the people they are today.

emma.bean
>>147035405

its similar to daemon in hotd season 1. he was willing to take a risk rather than accepting help that would have made it way easier. for different reasons in that situation obviously, even more petty reasons tbh lol, but the tone is the same. they would rather be a little reckless or take the harder road and try to do it themselves than accept the help of certain people. i respect the sentiment.

TheSauceGuy

I completely forgot about that wart scene existing

Maria
>>147035405

They need support against the Boltons, the very people Baelish sold her to. It’s interesting that people can accept Mance & his stubbornness in S5, but not Sansa’s.

R

JAY

cannon, or carter? once upon a time stated they would go for a steak dinner to celebrate the downfall of the lannisters. brig prob going out for a steak dinner to celebrate the downfall of the children 😂

NoneOfYourBeeswax

It kills me that Jack is the person who has seen all - well, most - of the show, but he can't remember any of it! :D

hannahbee99
>>147026308

I appreciate this point but in my opinion I have always given her grace in this season because she’s still a teenager. She was a sheltered privileged girl who was groomed into marrying a terrible king. A king who murdered her father in front of her, tortured her and married her to The Imp (I love Tyrion but it is still traumatic from Sansa’s POV). Then she escapes, is framed for murder, goes to a place where her psychopathic aunt tries to kill her and her “Uncle Baelish” tried to groom her. Then she escapes again and just when she thinks she’s free, she is sold by the only man she had some kind of trust for to the people who killed here family, they then rape and beat her to the point of near suicide. She is traumatised! Of course she not going to trust anyone and of course she’s going to make decisions that to us who haven’t been through what she’s been through seem stupid. But her choices do make sense when you think about what she’s been through. I personally don’t like how the show handled her storyline in Season 5 ,but I do completely understand why she chooses to not trust Littlefinger and to not tell Jon.

Anthony Rodriguez

the blackfish is a legend. when Jamie told Bryanne that there are only 5 men in the whole 7 kingdoms who can defeat him. the Blackfish is one of them. He is more epic in the books.

TheSauceGuy

Jack, the children of the forest did have dragonglass, but that one failed to penetrate the armor on the white walker. Edit: If I'd waited 5 seconds lol

TheSauceGuy

RIP the biggest GOAT in the entire series

Maria
>>147046537

Fr, asking men about their thoughts on Sansa is prob the easiest way for me to screen them for dates 🙂‍↕️

NoneOfYourBeeswax

How is Bran supposed to warg into a dragon on a different continent thousands of miles away? And how is that supposed to help? And how is the Three Eyed Raven (aka Bloodraven aka Brynden Rivers, a bastard Targaryen - HISTORIES & LORE GUYS!!) supposed to know that Bran was going to steal the keys to the Weirwood and go meet up with the Night King? Is he supposed to warn him about every single danger of the past, present and future that Bran now has access to him? No, all he can do is warn him not to go joyriding in the Weirwood because it's dangerous - Bran should be old enough to be responsible.

TheSauceGuy

I'd say it's more Bran's fault for having no self-restraint than Bloodraven's. I'd assume Bloodraven saw glimpses into the future and knew what was going to happen; I don't think he knew how or when though. Maybe I'm wrong and he simply expected Bran to have some self-restraint.

NoneOfYourBeeswax
>>147037340

Just don't tell Jon. "He's not even your brother. Just a half brother". Littlefinger can clearly still influence Sansa despite her current coldness towards him.

NoneOfYourBeeswax
>>147046350

Yet were it not for the Children (who have every reason to hate humans) the people of Westeros would have been wiped out.

Maria
>>147037340

Well ya Baelish has been grooming her since he met her, he did save her from the Lannisters. It all must be very confusing for Sansa🤍

Legendarygamer

Here we go with the Sansa misunderstanding by ppl 😭 little finger is not to be trusted and Jon wouldn’t even use the vale from her pov

NoneOfYourBeeswax
>>147012969

And she's still allowing Littlefinger to manipulate her to cause her to distrust Jon ("He's only your half-brother") and create a rift between them.

Ryan Ry
>>147007378

Are you sure? Lord of the Sus @Brigade surely has been spoiled. He even got spoiled here on patreon comments. He said it so himself on discord.

NoneOfYourBeeswax
>>147018263

Kinslaying is eve a bigger crime than Kingslaying, yet Euron admits to both then casually says he's going off to murder his niece and nephew. WT actual F??!

NoneOfYourBeeswax
>>147021619

Because Sansa is still so bewitched by Littlefinger that she allowed him to create a rift - because Jon is "only your HALF brother". I can't even ><

Anthony Rodriguez
>>147047192

that wasnt mentioned. one would definitely be baristan since jamie idolised him. jamie never seen oberyn fight before as he told tyrion. he has no respect for loras so thats a no.

Legendarygamer
>>147007378

I would say they have gotten spoiled in stuff, it’s inevitable. Considering they read hundreds of comments, we know for a fact they get spoilers, whether that be perception of a season or character and this allows them to make predictions about the show/formulate their thoughts. I will say tho it would certainly be boring to watch a show if you know everything is going to happen so I don’t think they have gotten spoiled crazily, but with how interactive they are some degree of spoilers is inevitable

Maria
>>147035405

@noneofyourbeeswax Idk what you mean. Mance wasn’t anyone’s bro. Baelish isn’t anyone’s brother, we are talking about accepting his help here. & I’m so sorry I’m too lazy to explain anymore if that wasn’t clear 😅 honestly I might be confused myself atp🔥😮‍💨

NoneOfYourBeeswax
>>147009859

They're novellas rather than novels, and the idea that GRRM will write any more is as risible as the notion that he will ever finish TWOW, never mind ASOIAF. The mooted TV show won't have more than two seasons unless the show runners start writing stuff themselves.

Mel
>>147048531

Exactly. Sansa to Jon: Little Finger is a huge creep and sold me to the Boltons. Also Sansa to Jon: oh by the way he’s going to help us and be a large part of our army and we should trust him. Yeah ok..

The Kingsmoot is so much better in the books. I do like the addition of Theon attending it in the show though, actually tbh I like how Theon gets more screen time compared to the books. He’s not even in ASOS (S3/4) as far as I remember.

SirCatelot

I beg you guys, once you reach Season 8 watch "Inside the Episode" after watching the respective episode. Imo it's a big reason why everyone hates season 8 so much.

BloodyBen

"the 3-eyed-raven is a bum" - He's one of the most influential characters in this world, the show didn't even scratch the surface of his character and there's a lot of history and lore around his character. I suggest watching one of the many Youtube videos on the 3-eyed-raven/Bloodraven/Brynden Rivers once you're done with at least season 6. 'Bloodraven' by Alt Shift X on YT is a good one.

Amna 🍉

another reason Catelyn didn't like Jon, was because he looked even more like a Stark than her legitimate kids. In the show, only Sansa mainly has the Tully features but in the books is all her children except for Arya. Arya and Jon acutally bond because of this as well.

Renaldo Allard

Hodoor and the boy who played him won an Oscar or an award for that scene really amazing acting

Renaldo Allard

John snow is everything everytime he’s on screen he’s just a W man

>>147046537

Can we dislike the whole Vale thing and also feel that her character progresses quite quickly? I like her end result as a character but the change doesn't feel super gradual. The whole Vale thing is more of a writing issue than an issue with her ig too.

If the old dude would’ve just warned him not to let anyone touch him then hodor wouldn’t even be disabled 😂.

I mean I blame the writers for that. There was no valid reason to change her whole storyline and give her the jeyne poole storyline. Sansa is learning a lot in the books and is set up to become an important player in game of thrones. That being said, her having trust issues is valid at this point. She's literally been lied to by every single person she trusted, arguably even by ned and catelyn, they fed her this idealistic dream of living as a queen. I feel like people are so quick to diminish and hate the feminine characters in this show, especially Catelyn and Sansa, while the male characters are given the attention and chance to make mistakes without being judged. People add their own emotions into this show too much without wanting to understand characters and their pov and understand why this character would behave this way. The end result of Sansa's character is not Sansa at all, i absolutely hate everything they did with her character post seaosn 4. But is she still overhated, yes.

"Aegon Taryaryen conquered Westeros with dragons." "And so shall we. Euron Greyjoy promised. "That horn you heard I found amongst the smoking ruins that were Valyria, where no man has dared to walk but me. You heard its call, and felt its power. It is a dragon horn, bound with bands of red gold and Valyrian steel graven with enchantments. The dragonlods of old sounded such horns, before the Doom devoured them. With this horn, ironmen, I can bind dragons to my will.” -AFFC

the woman taking care of young hodor was their “old nan” the one telling scary stories to bran and the one who sansa asked jon about the the one who were making their kidney soup.

The old man already knows everything that will happen. He has to let Bran go into the tree because that’s what happens, the ink is dry. He brought him to that vision because he already knew events needed to repeat themselves and Wylis had to become Hodor

Yeah.. with the new 3 eps a week schedule, this week should be 5,6,7 & next week will close out season 6 with 8,9,10.

Meri Gjelaj

I’m having withdrawals

Sean Carroll

Late to comment but here it is. This episode is both great and bad, the inconsistency of season 6 is truly minbending. This episode is probably a 7/10 only because the hodor scene is so good. Otherwise I’d probably make this a 5/10 Sansa: I see people commenting on how Sansa can’t trust little finger and while that is true she knows that he killed Lysa and so has bargaining power over him if the vale where to come and help. Having the vale on her side allows her power over little finger so her refusing little fingers help is just flat out stupid when she could achieve two things. 1. Defeat Ramsay’s army with the vale and 2. Kill little finger with the vale when she wants to. Her not telling Jon that the entire army of the vale is on her side and can help fight Ramsay is frankly idiotic… SANSA IS LITERALLY PUTTING JONS ENTIRE OPERATION AT RISK JUST BECAUSE SHE DOESNT WANT TO ACCEPT LITTLEFINGSRS HELP. I understand she went through shit with Ramsay and its littlefingsrs fault but in this critical situation she needs to pick the lesser of two evils but she isn’t doing anything. Sansa’s writing this season has started off poor and now fallen into flat out terrible. There is no defending her choices here. Arya: oh look she’s becoming really good at assassin training after two episodes. I can’t wait to see how she uses it.. the play scene is just plain weird, it feels like got has just become a comedy show on the side of serious things. Having hodors death and a comedy sketch in the same episode is so jarring compared to what we used to have in this show. Also we did not need to see that guys dick. Arya clearly hasn’t learned her lesson about her faceless man training because she is still asking red flag questions to jaqen. Does anyone actually believe this storyline is good in any way? Because it makes no sense and we are 15 episodes into her bravos storyline. Bran 1: interesting to see the night kings birth, good scene Theon: this scene is just terrible after euron arrives. Great start to the scene with Theon and yara speeches to the ironborn. Before we get to euron though, the ironborn are incredibly fickle. First they are mad that yara is claiming the throne and then want Theon, as soon as Theon speaks for yara they decide that yara is a good ruler and then as soon as euron comes in and makes 3 cock jokes they laugh at Theon and yara who they were just supporting 5 seconds ago. The show falls apart when its background characters even start to make no sense as they are simply reacting to whatever is going on in front of them without it leaving any accurate link to what just happened. Euron had so much potential from the books, what is a genuinely fantastic villain in the books is turned into a comedic loser who gets the support of the ironborn for making 3 cock jokes… god this is painful to watch. Next as soon as euron wins Theon and yara somehow find supporters from out of thin air and are able to steal what looks like 50-100 ships in the time it takes euron to go through the ritual which in my head should only take about 5 or 10 minutes. Also this is the second instance this season where ships are not being guarded and easily accessed (mereen episode 1). Finally how does euron expect to build 1000 ships with the limited size of the iron islands, we will just have to wait and see Dany: good scene with Jorah, can’t wait to see if there is a cure to greyscale.. Tyrion and Varys: funny how they decide to explain to us that after the deal with the masters last episode apparently nothing has happened since. This all happens inside the castle though so I guess we are supposed to just accept this even though the deal last episode made no sense for the masters to accept as Tyrion didn’t make any stringencies around it. Great scene with Varys and kinvara, too bad she is totally forgotten about and we never see her again Bran 2: yes you are exactly right Carter, the three eyed raven told bran not to go wondering around the visions without him but didn’t tell him why or the dangers if anything bad happened. No matter if the three eyed raven knew something was going to happen or not why would he make the rule then if he knew it had to happen? Jon: an entire meeting to decide on gaining allies (“we need allies” iykyn). Sansa had all the time in the world to say she had the vale on her side…. But no she decided that because of her selfishness she is willing to risk Jon’s and his entire army’s life just because she hates little finger for what he did, I’m not going to go through this again because it’s just so stupid on Sansa’s behalf. Lying to Jon also is just plain terrible, you just reunited with him, you are willing to risk his life and now you are lying to him. God Sansa has fallen off. I guess giving him a new cloak is supposed to make up for it all though so no harm no foul. Bran 3: why does the 3 eyed raven bring bran into a vision that serves no bearing on his training or learning anything, just simply a vision of Ned leaving for the vale as a kid. Did the three eyed raven just bring bran into a vision simply for the hodor thing to happen? The action sequence is certainly very cw haha I thought the same thing a few seconds before Carter called it. Finally the hodor scene is fantastic obviously, even though season 6 is very poor, I have to admit this was great. I will say though that the whole 3 eyed raven storyline is still terrible and we will talk more about it once we get further

>>147197365

We are barely in the stage of raising an army. You are way too ahead of yourself, just can’t help but drop little spoilery remarks to prove your point. Why can’t you see where Sansa’s coming from? Why was it fine for Mance to deny the offer from Stannis that would get all his people over the wall peacefully, their entire goal to begin with? He said I’d rather burn alive and you could accept that😂 But here you are criticizing Sansa for not immediately trusting the guy who sold her to the Boltons & groomed her. & why assume Jon would even think it’s smart to get help from Littlefinger. Ya let’s get support from the guy who sold Sansa, against the guys he sold her to and she JUST escaped from…

Sean Carroll
>>147087171

So if that’s the case that the three eyed raven knows what’s going to happen does that also mean bran knows everything that’s going to happen once he gains the full power??? I’m being sarcastic, it’s so hard not to blurt out all the problems with this terribly written storyline

Bellaa
>>147197365

i fully read through your comment. Im sorry but maybe this franchise and world just isnt for you 🤣. So many of your complaints or issues are your personal opinion of how a character shouldve reacted or handled a situation. sansa: everything you said about her is fine if its your opinion but it completely makes sense for her character. She was ra*ed and beaten and has been through hell since the show started. she has had amazing growth but is still a young girl who can be selfish when her trauma is triggered. makes perfect sense to me even if we can agree the information she has would help. arya: while i agree its dragged out, she is getting training and again is still a stubborn young girl. the play scene does make sense bc thats how humans behave. they take history and make it entertainment for the masses. it makes sense that a bunch of people from far away are mimicking and retelling what they have heard about from overseas. this show has always gone back and forth between whats happening in different areas so not sure why having the play scene and hodors death at the end bothers u so much. Not everything has to make sense to YOU! theon: its like you forget that some humans are plain stupid and are sheep who will do and say whatever someone else tells them when they have nothing else! the ironborn respect yara but men would always rather follow other men so until theon says they should follow Yara they feel conflicted. Euron making cock jokes made sense and felt fine to me bc he is a worthless, selfish, and greedy prick. he thinks very highly of himself. And you may forget but the ironborn like to ra*e and pillage so ofc he is gonna talk about his cock💀 they didnt have supporters out of thin air, yara has always had her men who support her(like when she went to get Theon) and probably some of the men after hearing Euron didnt want to be on his side. It’s completely reasonable. everything else i dont feel like commenting on cause i just disagree but its fine i just genuinely think u want too much and expect the characters to always make the better choice. But thats one of the main parts of this show that make it feel so real to me. Humans are selfish and make bad/wrong decisions. Us as an audience get to see everything and all the whispers behind the main people, so of course you are gonna feel like they couldve made better choices but i think thats what makes it so interesting. i truly enjoy this season but come on man like u have to admit u just want everything to be perfect and make logical sense. but thats not how a fantasy show works

Sean Carroll
>>147022954

Season 6 is much better than Season 5 IMO, but it still has some incredibly bad story decisions. The Hodor origin story and his death is terribly sad and very emotional. It is what makes this a significant episode. And we know that the “hold the door” part comes straight from George Martin. But there are other aspects to the storyline that I really dislike. If the Children created the White Walkers, and it is unclear if that is how it will go down in the books, they do a terrible job of explaining it in the show. The books do hint at the idea that the children were so outnumbered in their war with men that they created the White Walkers. But the whole thing grew out of their control and backfired on them. And that is why they are trying to work with Bran to set things right. But I think the story is much more complex than that and there are lots of pieces to it that George Martin has not revealed yet. Meanwhile, the show does a terrible job of even explaining the bits of the story I have suggested here. Plus I hate the fact that they killed Summer this way. The show was notorious for not wanting to include the Dire Wolves, because they were very hard to film. And it seems like that was the motivation behind killing Summer. This way they had one less Dire Wolf to deal with. In the books, the only Dire Wolves that have died are Lady and Grey Wind. Then there is the disaster of the Iron Islands storyline. For fans of the books, what the show does with the Iron Islands from this point forward is as bad as what they did to the Dorne storyline. Both of those are fan favorites for book readers. And the television show drops the ball with both of them. If you want to read or listen to one incredible chapter, then check out the King’s Moot chapter, where Euron Greyjoy is acclaimed as the new King of the Iron Islands. He is a completely different character in the books, and has been set up as a formidable villain for the end game. One who deals in magic! It is true that the ritual in the Iron Islands involves a real drowning and resurrection in the books. But they actually do a form of CPR. They don’t just stand around and see what happens to their drowning victim! That part was completely ridiculous. This ritual is a major part of their “what is dead may never die” motto. It’s also another example of various people in this world being resurrected from the dead. The cycles of life and death are messed up in this world. The seasons don’t even have a natural rhythm. It’s one of the major things that needs to be fixed in this world. And the White Walkers with their Wights is the ultimate form of that.

Anthony Rodriguez
>>147047192

Thats your assumption but Jamie never seen Oberyn fight. He even told Tyrion he dont know his skills. Oberyn is not thag notable in westeros since he spent most of his life travelling. Jamie spoke highly of the Blackfish when he saw him during the battle of the penny kings.

Linn

One thing I’m a bit confused about, was Hodor himself at the end or was Bran still controlling him? Did we see him release control? It would be even more terrible if it was Brans choice to have him sacrifice himself.

>>147197365

SPOILER WARNING FOR THE GEKS!!!! Honestly I think the Hodor scene is overrated. It's cool and all but it doesn't actually lead to anything, it's effectively just some Hodor backstory and the death of a beloved character. Like if the time travel actually played a part later in the series that scene would be 100x cooler, but it literally doesn't matter after this point. The possibilities that it opened up were endless and the theories that sprung from it were crazy at the time (the Bran/Night King theory being one of my favorites). But it literally went nowhere... Brings it down a lot for me.

Hodor’s origin this episode, is one of the best moments in the entire show. It’s always these kind of time bending moments in shows, when somebody in the future influences the past, it also happend in AoT, big moment when Eren influenced his dad in the crystal cave… So well executed
