Overall this show is a 7.5/10 for me. Better than Game of thrones lol. Starts off great with ep 1 and has a good few episodes in between with episode 6 being the peak. The last 3 episodes just didnt hold up at all though and the twist at the end was both obvious and dumb.

They were not forced but he exploited and killed these vulnerable and poor people for entertainment. Should he have gone and saw his child, yes. But I don’t blame him for not being able to move on from this, we see throughout the series how big his heart is, he missed his daughter’s birth because his coworker was killed. He isn’t in the right place mentally to even raise a child so I understand why he went back. He could have at least visited her first lol but i guess we have to be dramatic.

Also, in case no one has said it, he gave Sang-woo's mom roughly half his winnings! It's not explicitly stated in the show though, just implied since Sang-woo had called for his mother in his final moments and told Gi-hun that he would use his winnings to help his mom. In Gi-hun's mind, especially since he was offering for him and Sang-woo to win together during the last game, that half belonged to his mom anyways. ....it just took him a year to do it. no biggie.. lol

Haha, I know you guys hate the chewing noises, but just to give some cultural context, chewing noises aren't really as taboo in Asia as it is in the west. Ofc I'm not trying to generalize bc every person has their own personal preference, but there is a reason why chewing ASMR/Mukbangs grew to be so popular in Korea and even trended for a while worldwide. It's a form of eating "deliciously," so I think the "sensitive" mics are def a stylistic choice. It appeals to an audience. That audience just isn't you 😂

Equating infinite money and boredom to starvation and homelessness is a great argument lul. It's unfortunate Gi-Han didn't rip Oh Il Nam down to his atoms and completely dissect his nonsensical and hypocritical contradictory world view lmao. tbh if you just got traumatized like that playing games and learn that your being tracked you wouldn't want to go to your daughter cause you'll be paranoid as hell even then - this kind of trauma cannot be just put away he needs to heal from this before going to his daughter

My rating is 8.7 I think I was annoyed he didn’t go see his daughter on first watch but now, I do understand why he went back. I really could not live knowing this game would continue and hundreds of people will continue to die. Also, in ignoring it and just letting it happen again, (to me) it would be the same as the winner “transforming” into the game master. Just evil doings. Couldn’t be me. He also could have either sent money to his daughter already. Once he (hopefully) dismantles squid games, he can live the rest of his life taking care of his daughter knowing he stopped a psychotic game.

Actually, a little story about the writer of this show. He wrote it over 10 years ago in a manwa caffe. He combined his poor life style with his favorite manwa and created Squid Game. At one point he even had to sell his laptop (as a movie writer) because he didnt have money to pay his rent. And because of how gruesome the show is, no film production wanted to direct it. For over 10 years... and if i remember correctly, at one point, he found some1 that was willing to direct it, but for some reason they kept the script in a box for another few years
