Betsy

Congratulations, Brig!! I wish you all the happiness.

Ale
>>159974774

Happy new year, Brig and congrats on your weeding!!

Ale

Starting the year (and my day lol) with this ❤️

WHY

Yay! Just finished watching your episode 1 reaction and now I see this. So hyped!

Fatipapi

🤩🤩🤩 cant wait to watch tomorrow

Mima

happy new year !!!!

Redbone

Wishing Year 2025 be blessed to all of you, nothing more nothing less! 😇

Rayanh LaNansha

Happy New Year!!! I love that I can tell you guys are super entertained before you even say so, it's been super fun to watch. On a side-note, are we getting a One Piece drop or is it in a similar situation with Severance?

Afra

Happy new year guys 💗

Afra

Chishiya is just a chill guy 😂

Jonoridge

It might be a bit more flamboyant than Squid Game, but the tension and suspense is definitely present in the games they play. Looking forward to watching this one with you guys as I haven't watched Season 2 yet and I think Season 3 is on the way later this year.

Julie

Just to clear up about who is Alice, it is the main guy, Arisu. Alice translates to Arisu in Japanese.

Amna 🍉

"Dude our neighbours right now..have no idea what we're watching" Brig that's craaazy

accomplice

38:25 was wild, it seems like the taggers have their own set of rules, but in our perspective we just have to guess what those are base on their behavior they can't run, can't talk, can't take off the mask while in-game, etc. Chotah getting that "o'holy mother!" lol

draeonic 🪼

Happy New Year! Love to see you guys be entertained like this :) Also I recommend looking up "Tokyo Tower" 🗼 And you probably got this comment a thousand times already but the Japanese pronunciation for "Alice" is "Arisu"...

draeonic 🪼
>>159988213

And their victory condition was probably to tag all the players before the time limit/they hit the buttons. Otherwise they could indeed have just stayed by the door and shot anyone trying to come their way

Merry

Oh my goat is here (Hoodie guy)😂Love him.

Amna 🍉

A bit late but CONGRATS BRIG🎉🎉 whose next👀

WHY

We know how good a show is when it gets everyone entertained and discussing hard about the game and the characters after each episode. Usagi is such an important character - I bet you won’t say she’s boring again after you find out what happened the next episode👀 and get to later episodes. But yeah, she’s not the “main main” character; based on the name of the show, only Arisu (Alice) is the “main main” character. I like how this show has some good action scenes among other things. Btw, gun is not common in Asian countries including Japan, so unless they’re military or police, normal people couldn’t buy guns from stores/ wouldn’t find guns easily, so they wouldn’t be able to bring guns to the games to prepare themselves, only knifes. Aguni (the tough guy fighting) needed that guy to die because the only time he could attack the tagger is when he’s reloading his gun, so Aguni used that guy as a bait and wanted the tagger to shoot him as much as possible so that the tagger eventually ran out of bullet and then Aguni could attack him. Aguni’s not attached to or close to that random guy too - you’ll find out more later.

Brady

The real mystery of this show is figuring out who tf Alice is

Hector

I love how unserious you guys take all of this 😂😂😂😂

Hector

And why did Mikasa catchings strays last second?? 😂😂

WHY

Why I feel like the subtitles on the screen are different from the subtitles you used when watching? 🤔 Subtitles on screen seems like the correct “English” one yet the one you were watching with seems like the “English cc” one. I figured it especially when you referred to the tagger as “it”. That’s why the symbols and everything is kinda confusing.

Andrew Lynch

Thanks for the severance updates sorry I’ve been yappin about it

Will

My fav alice in borderland character has been introduced 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

chloe

not mikasa catching strays 😭😭😭

Qhoa

W

Sanji

Honestly this is getting me hyped for when you guys react to the One Piece Live Action

Jonoridge

Just letting you guys know regarding the subtitles that 'English CC' is the subtitles for the English Dub version, whereas 'English' is the subtitles for the Japanese Dub. So if you want a more accurate translation (as you're watching the Japanese Dub), I'd recommend English, not English CC (which I believe you currently have selected). The same can be said for Squid Game or any foreign film or TV show on Netflix with an English Dub option.

Agent September 🏴‍☠️
>>159999338

Feel like this has come up with every foreign language show so far. Idk if yall are just recording with the incorrect subtitles or watching with them too but there is definitely a difference in quality.

Alex

I sincerely hope the guys finish this show and go "BUT WHO THE HECK IS ALICE!?" hahaha. Genuinely find it funny every time they bring it up. They've even heard and said Arisu multiple times and not noticed the connection XD.

Alex

Super excited for the next episode. It's one of my favourites :)

Brian

You called had me on the floor for 10 minutes

Brian
>>159999338

Sometimes they say what they read and its different from whats on the screen, i think what they upload is different and theyre watching the correct one

WHY
>>159999338

@Brian Seems to be the other way round - what they’re watching is the bad one but what they upload and show on the screen is the correct one.

jason 𒉭

AiB is based off a manga that’s why it’s so theatrical, personally i think the games are more entertaining than squid game and honestly the first two episodes were a bit too cringey for me but after episode 3 i binged the whole of season 1 in one night.

Anton Sakshaug

Not sure if i like the show yet but its at least entertaining. especially with ur reactions xD

Anya

🤍Chishiya has arrived🙌 I'm now mentally preparing myself for upcoming episodes🧘‍♀️

Sasha

For real. I would just see where it goes too😏

Anya
>>160018052

Yes unfortunately some things from the manga don't translate well in live action. For those who don't know that it may seem comical 😄

Sasha

Mikasa is kinda mid alright but Alice is boring already?🤨

Sasha

I think the games would be too easy for James

Lydia

That is TOKYO tower 😭😭😭

Mim

Random non-spoiler fact but I thought the guys should know, the main actor here (Kento Yamazaki) played L in the Death Note live action series. Idk if someone has said this already tho

Derek Whittom

Say Alice how a japanese person would say it.

Jenpi

What is the schedule for AIB? I am seated :)) I love this series.

Quisel
>>159974774

Happy New Year to all of you and congratulations on your wedding, Brig!🎉🎉

Ale

If I may, and hope nobody takes offense in this, but that's how Japanese live actions are, very corny and overly dramatic, I've seen quite a few and they all have this awkward scenes/acting/dialogs which is not bad perse as they take it very seriously, but it's just their television is like that lol I'm glad you are taking it with humor bc when you get pass that, there are some that are worth to watch and this is definitely one of them!

hayden 💟

Cannon playing outlaster on roblox is something I never would have expected but i’m not mad🤣

Brianna Tsao
>>160035345

And that’s why their modern day television and movies aren’t very good at all. Sad to see since their older culture pretty much shaped a lot of the Hollywood we see today from Star Wars to Sergio Leone’s Dollar trilogy to Wes Anderson. Post WWII Japan following the American occupation quickly shifted their production towards high-budget animation and video games. Entertainment that is largely amazing and a reason why they have staying global influence to this day, but it is a bit disappointing to a degenerate weeb like me that the physical Japanese aesthetic is largely a relic of the past when it comes to the visual medium. Now it is just, like you said, cheap and theatrical and “fake”

Venus

ARISU is alice. not the girl. the girl is the rabbit.

Brian

I

Brett

This show reminds me of a Bollywood movie. Very corny so far😂

Luke Fox
>>160045315

Its not anymore corny then anime dialogue is. It just seems that way because its live action. Absolutely no where close to Bollywood levels of corny though.

Sasha
>>160045315

It's anime live action so of course it's gonna be like that. It's supposed to look like an anime and Kento Yamazaki does excellent job in that.

Sasha
>>160035345

You are very wrong Ale. It's only the anime live actions that are like that.

Bingsu

Canno saying, "Love interest, give it to me." is so funny AAHHAA

Fatipapi

YES Batman reference 😂 WHERE’S RACHEL

Fatipapi

Aguniiii 😍

Fatipapi

Karube literally had the chance to stab the guy in his neck but went for the shoulder instead 🤡

Luke Fox

When you guys say that it seems like there are theatrical elements or some over dramatization it is because this is adapted from a manga. This is essentially what an anime would look like in live-action. This show is 100% cooking though and one of my all-time favorite shows. It only gets better as it goes along and a very strong hook is coming soon.

accomplice

to all the gamers out there this is as close as it gets to a real life "Dead by Daylight" game!

Mysterious Figure

Havent watched this show before so I just want to know if whoever is organizing the games will ever be revealed and their motivation for it all explained? Im not asking for someone to spoil it obviously, Im just asking if it WILL be something that will be EVENTUALLY the point of the show? Because, if it ends up being a show about some people playing some scary games with a lot of action/death etc, but without any actual real reason behind it all for us the viewer other than to string us along for the fun ride... then I dont think I'm going to like it very much. I like Squid Game, NOT for its GAMES, but because of the way it is using THAT platform to make its social commentary. It is a perfect vehicle to show how difficult it is to change our society, especially if you are a SINGLE person trying to make that change. It is best at illustrating this point during those scenes when the players are voting if they are going to continue the games or not right after they have been shown a huge pile of cash being filled into the piggy bank. That is exactly the interesting conversation I want to have when watching a show like Squid Game. Is there going to be a conversation about anything after watching Alice in Borderland? Only seen the first episode so Im genuinely asking.

Betsy
>>160094843

Yes there is an explanation at the end that ties everything together and explains why they're there and why they have to play the games. Just watch closely at the hints throughout the episodes. They sprinkle in clues. Alice in Borderland is one big mind trip. Hope this helped you and you enjoy it. I didn't want to give too much detail so, I don't spoil it for the guys :)

Mysterious Figure
>>160094843

Thanks for the info. I was asking because I just wanted to know if its a show for me or not. Based on what you said I will continue watching, because I like for things to make some sense after all, or for the show to entertain in more ways than one.

Betsy
>>160094843

You're welcome, Glad I could help. Yeah so do I. Well hope it's an enjoyable viewing experience for you. And trust me the games go more in depth and become more interesting as the series continues especially in season 2. It's my favorite season of all haha

Fatipapi
>>160045315

Imagine they replayed Usagi’s superhero landing 10 x and Arisu looking up like 😨 with all different Windows Media Player effects and dramatic Indian music in the background 😂😂

Billie

cannon such a loverboy we love it! Give him all the romance!

Betsy

Does anyone know if we're getting episode 3 tonight? I forgot if they said anything or not :)

sil

happy new year guys!!!

Slizzle

Bruh Not the random mikasa disrespect at the end

Stephanos Stavrou

Alice in Borderland is literally a live action anime. 😄

WHY
>>160094843

To add on top of what’s already been said by Betsy about the ending that explains everything which I second, AiB is not just about playing games. The wits & heart/mind games especially carry lots of meanings. To me, while the games in AiB are fun to watch, they’re indeed more difficult and in depth than the childhood games in SG. I would say the games in AiB are more of a medium to bring out important life lessons than anything along with the story, and they certainly require one’s reflection and thinking on certain values.

Betsy

Hope this isn't a spoiler or anything. Haha But seriously can't wait until my second favorite character appears soon which is none other than Ann. She's so amazing and skillful. Chishiya and Ann are my top 2 favorites! I love the emotional depth and personal growth in Alice in Borderland.

Betsy
>>160094843

I couldn't say it better myself. It really teaches a lot of valuable lessons that makes you stop and ponder about life :)

jrnoodles

Thanks you! Some of the scenes were cringe worthy.

Frank Francis

I wanted to reiterate that I'm sorry for my immature and dumb comments on posts of AiB 1x1. I'm working on myself in general, and that includes not having petulant child fits again. Life is already hard, nobody needs this kind of negativity. So again, I apologize.

Ayoodude

Alright so I binged this whole series after watching this episode with the Geks and I’m back here to say …it’s so fucking cool lol it’s a really awesome show 🔥🔥🔥

WHY
>>160335330

Indeed! This show is on fire and it’s really suitable for binge watching than watching episode by episode over time due to the plots and suspense in s1 and lots of cliffhangers in s2. Watching all in one go makes the viewing experience much better.

‎

Squid game creator did not get the idea from alice in borderland. In fact he was trying to get it done 10 years ago but the studio rejected him.

WHY
>>160436679

No, he did get some of the ideas from AIB or at least the manga on which AIB is based, which came out more than 10 years ago. While it was said that he’s got the ideas for SG long time ago and was trying to make a show much earlier, no source (any writing/books) or other evidence was there to prove that he had indeed finished writing the entire scripts for SG long time ago or even before AIB/the manga of AIB. Lots of things could happen in between the period, and we all know directors/producers could always amend/adjust the original scripts for any show taking ideas from others. It’s not simply the death game idea that SG got from AIB though (to be fair, lots of Japanese shows have been doing this concept already), there’re lots of other similar ideas coming from AIB. I can’t elaborate more on this at this stage cuz I don’t want to spoil it here, but there’re definitely more similar ideas from AIB than it seems on the surface; it’s just that they’re rather expressed in a different way in SG.

Bri-Ana Monique✨

Watched the first two episodes with you guys, then just went And finished the first season while I wait for your reactions to it lol 😂❤️

Lydia

Ready for ep 3

Betsy
>>160469829

I saw somewhere that it would be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. But I wish they could just binge the whole series lol

Lydia
>>160469829

Aw I didn’t see them say Tuesday but maybe today? 👀 their schedule is pretty lax so I could def see it happening

Betsy
>>160469829

Oh yay!!! I'm crossing mine too. Someone posted it on their Solo Leveling 2 x 1 post. But hope you're right. It's one of my favorite shows. I'm kind of obsessed lol

Lydia
>>160469829

I love it too! Even if they don’t post today, I’m sure it will be first live action upload tomorrow bc of the rotation :)))

Betsy
>>160469829

Yeah you're probably right. Thanks, Lydia. I'm excited!! :)

Lydia
>>160469829

Girllll I was wrong 😭 squid game came first but we are strong soldiers. AIB will come soon!

Betsy
>>160469829

No worries. Yeah we are! ☺️ It will be tomorrow so not long at all.

Ladnon

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who called that dude Gojo the second he appeared

AD

by the way arisu is alice phonetically in japanese

Keeka 🍰

Hi Guys, can we get an update on the schedule please

lola

ep 3 😀

Skyster

I can't wait for chapter 3 🤯

mina

so, chota's mom was a part of a cult

mina

gojo guy wasn't acting like he knew everything. he figured out where the safe zone was early and was waiting to see if anyone else would figure it out too, and when arisu did, he joined him. gojo guy didn't wanna walk in alone, exactly because he DIDN'T KNOW what was waiting for him behind the door, so he let arisu come in first😂😂. he's a rat, but a smart one lol

mina
>>160001610

they are too focused on the american pronunciation😭, but they'll figure it out, i hope.

Betsy

Guys, is episode 3 still coming tonight? :)

Will
>>160626304

Fr, I keep coming here to see If they released It.😭

Bri-Ana Monique✨

Hopefully we get a double drop like squid games 😂🙏🏽

Riya

The first two games were so entertaining! This show just dives right in and its such a ride. The hand to hand combat sequence was sick and usagi’s climbing ability 🫢 came in handy

Riya

Cannon, usagi doesn't have any expression just like that girl from season 1 of squid game lol they are both kinda serious in a way but let the show cook hehe

rian

16:07 the in sync head bobbing lmaoo

Jada

This is good show I need to catch up before they post another episode

Jeff

The red Eiffel Tower killed me😂😂 Cant wait to binge these reactions

Yo Dani

i was expecting the tagger to be like a dog haha imagine a freakin dobermann chasing you gg
