Gonggi is similar to Knucklebones that originated from Greece I believe ( reason for the name is because originally they used the knucklebones of sheep’s back in the old days ), we have a similar game in my culture. We call it either ‘koruru’ or ‘ruru’ but otherwise my country overall calls it ‘knucklebones’ cause of the European influence due to colonisation. There’s other names from other cultures and countries for this game as well. The basic rules of the game are: ( Note: some countries have different rules of how to play it ) - You always got to throw one stone in the air while attempting to pick up the others from the ground/floor, until the last round - The number of stones you play with are 5 - There’s an order to how many you pick up each round - So the first thing you do is scatter the stones/dice or whatever your using across the floor - Then you choose to pick up the one you want to throw in the air - The first round you have to pick just ‘ONE’ stone at a time while throwing the other one in the air but you have to make sure you catch the one you keep throwing in the air after you pick up a stone off the ground. You can’t drop it. You also have to keep the stones you already picked up safely tucked in your hand as well - Then after that round is done, you re-scatter the stones again & you do the same process but this time you have to pick up ‘TWO’ stones now - Repeat this same process with ‘THREE’ stones and then ‘FOUR’ - On the last one you throw all five stones in the air and quickly flip your hand and catch all 5 on the back of said hand. Then the last move is throwing them back in the air with the back of your hand and catch all of them exactly the same way the lady did in this episode That’s basically how you play the game, it’s pretty addicting

It's cool how some of the games have their own versions in other cultures, for example in Latam we have Tazos that are similar to Ddakji, the Top is pretty much a Trompo and the Gonggi reminds me a little of Matatena.

i havent seen any more than the geks have js so if im right its intuition. I feel like the captain was a pink soldier probs a square who was tasked with saving the frontmans brother by the frontman. His job now is to monitor his brother and make sure his brother doesnt pick up the trail.

No disrespect, but you guys have got to sync up your Youtube and Patreon upload schedules a bit better. At the very least, we paying on patreon should be getting the next upload in advance of Youtube getting the previous upload. As of right now, both Severance and Squid Games are caught up to Patreon - and I think that's a bit unfair to those of us paying for memberships that promise early uploads compared to that of Youtube. You guys are generally better at taking criticism than other reactors (cough cough Blind Wave), so I hope you guys understand I say this because I appreciate the reactions - not to be a hater.

The second group of mini-games were dull, luckily the next game was a lot better. I don't know if the Geks know but 001 is a famous Korean movie actor, Lee Byung-Hun and was one big leads in the 2000s. He's like Tom Cruise of Korean cinema and the show keeps name dropping him even in season 1.

seeing the guy behind the black mask makes me want the Geks to react to my name, its a revenge thriller kdrama. SO GOOD! goated actor too. so many in this season. him, im Siwan, king haneul and so many more.

I assumed it was clear that the front man joined the games to officially go head to head against Gi-Hun to see who wins. Gi-Hun challenged him during 2x2 & said he beat the old leader Il-Nam. So not sure why you're speculating so much about his reasons. I believe the front man genuinely wants to play with him and somewhat respects him too, he wont want him dead before seeing who wins at least. Maybe he actually wants to turn Gi-Hun to his dark side too. The front man was Not acting with Gi-Hun either, when telling his story of why he joined the games. It's clear those were real emotions shown i think. Also, guys they definitely pick and choose what to let the players keep on them. It's all part of the games and making them entertaining so of course they'd let someone like Thanos keep his stash of drugs, they knew what he had inside the necklace for sure. The players are also more confident now about getting out together because they get to vote after each game now. The pregnant girl is almost due guys, not sure how you missed that as the old lady literally confirmed the girl is almost at full term pregnancy & that she was i pain before from binding her stomach to try compressing her baby bump, which is really bad for baby & mom.

idk if y’all know this but all able bodied men in south korea are required to enlist for 18-21 months in the military, length of time depends on what branch they pick. this is why having a bunch of ex marines in the games is not crazy. all able bodied men HAVE to enlist by the time they’re 35. there are special exemptions for athletes & classical artists who do something big on an international stage that brings national prestige.

It'd be interesting to see you guys try those games. This season definitely feels cut short because the first two episodes focused on searching for the recruiter. I'm thinking this continues into season three with the same people.
